Police are seeking the public's help to identify a suspect in the murder of a Bronx Uber driver, Issa Mbolo-Isac, who was gunned down on New Year's Day as he finished up his shift. The tragic incident marks the city's first reported homicide of 2024 and has left family members and friends reeling.

According to authorities, Ehinel Troncoso, a 24-year-old suspect, is wanted in connection with Mbolo-Isac's death. The shooting occurred around 7 a.m. near Morris Avenue and the Cross Bronx Expressway in Mount Hope, where two men allegedly approached Mbolo-Isac's vehicle, tried to force him out, and then shot at the car when he attempted to drive away.

Eyewitnesses describe Mbolo-Isac as a kind-hearted individual who was devoted to his faith. Friends and family members have come forward to pay tribute to his memory, with one close friend describing him as "one of the kindest people" he's ever known.

The taxi driver industry has been targeted in recent months, with another for-hire driver being stabbed and seriously wounded in November. The NYPD is urging anyone with information about Mbolo-Isac's killing to come forward. A $10,000 reward has been offered by the New York State Federation of Taxi Drivers for information leading to the arrest of the suspects.

As authorities continue to investigate the incident, police are asking the public to review any surveillance footage that may have captured the perpetrators' vehicle or their movements on the day of the killing.
