Conor Gallagher: Tottenham expect to complete £35m move for Atletico Madrid midfielder

Tottenham Hotspur are on the cusp of completing a £35m move for Conor Gallagher, the 25-year-old midfielder currently plying his trade at Atletico Madrid. The North London club had been in the running to sign the England international, but Aston Villa appeared poised to land him on an initial loan deal with options to make it permanent.

However, Tottenham have since moved ahead of Villa by expressing a willingness to meet Atletico's valuation, which appears to be around £35m. Gallagher has not yet agreed personal terms with Spurs, but that is understood to be a formality.

A move back to the Premier League for Gallagher could boost his chances of breaking into Thomas Tuchel's England squad for this summer's World Cup, having only played once under the German so far. Tottenham are looking to add to their midfield options after Rodrigo Bentancur was ruled out for at least three months due to a hamstring injury sustained in the Premier League defeat at Bournemouth last week.

Gallagher will hope a move back to the Premier League allows him to get his transfer ambitions off the ground, having been one of the most sought-after players in European football since leaving Chelsea on loan.

I'm thinking Spurs are making a smart move here 🤔. They're willing to meet Atletico's price for Conor Gallagher and it could give them a boost in midfield 😊. With Rodrigo out, they need someone who can step up and I think Gallagher could be that guy 👍. Plus, playing in the Premier League could help him get back into the England squad which would be awesome for his career 🌟.

I'm not really sure why Spurs are paying so much money for this guy... he's good, I guess 🤔. From what I've seen of him playing at Atletico, he doesn't seem to be a superstar midfielder. And what's with the £35m valuation? That's a lot of cash! 💸 Maybe it's because he's an England international and Spurs want to boost their chances of getting into the World Cup squad 🏆.

But honestly, I think Spurs could have done with signing someone like Gallagher years ago... they've been missing a solid midfielder for ages 😒. And now that Rodrigo's out injured, this is just what they needed 🤞. Fingers crossed he can stay fit and not get too many red cards ⚽️!

omg u guys i cant believe spurs are chasing gallagher again lol ive been saying he'd end up at tottenham for ages now 🤦‍♂️ and it looks like they're serious about making a move 💸 35m is steep tho, but maybe its worth it if we get the best midfielder in europe 🤞 cant wait to see him play for us again ⚽️ and fingers crossed he can break into england squad this summer 🇬🇧 tuchel needs some quality midfield options ASAP 😅

OMG I'm so hyped about this news lol! So like, Conor Gallagher is literally a genius on the pitch and I need him on our school's football team ASAP 🏆👍. Can you imagine how awesome it'll be to have someone with his skills on our squad? We could finally win that school tournament for real 😎. And honestly, I feel bad for Aston Villa because they had a good shot at signing him too... but Spurs are like "nope, we got this" 💪. This just shows how much we love football and want to see the best players succeed 💕. Oh and by the way, I hope our school's team can learn from Conor Gallagher's moves on the pitch 🤓.

I'm loving this Gallagher saga! 🤔 I mean, who wouldn't want Conor at Spurs? 😊 The lad's got talent for days and it'd be a great addition to their midfield squad... especially with Rodrigo out for a bit. But 35m is a pretty penny, even for Spurs. 💸 What do you think, would he be worth the investment?

I'm loving this midfield battle for Conor Gallagher 🤔! I mean, the lad's got skills for days and a world cup call-up is within reach 💪. Spurs need someone like him to fill Rodrigo's shoes until he's back from injury. 35 million quid is steep but worth it if he can help them push for a top 4 finish 📈. And let's be real, who doesn't want to see Conor Gallagher in the Tottenham jersey again? 😊 It's like he's coming home! 🔥

🤯 I'm so down for Spurs to sign Gallagher! He's always had so much potential and it's crazy he's still waiting for a big move. £35m is a decent price tag, but trust me, it'll be worth it when he's dominating the pitch for Spurs 💪. Tuchel needs some fresh blood in midfield and Gallagher would be a great addition 🤝. It's time to bring him back to England and see what he can do 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿!

I'm not sure why Tottenham think they can just swoop in and outbid Villa for Gallagher... 🤔 The lad's got talent for sure, but £35m is a pretty penny. Can't help but wonder if Spurs are overpaying again... 💸 And what's the plan after Bentancur goes down? Need some solid midfield depth ASAP... ⏰

I'm so curious about Conor Gallagher's future! He's got some serious talent and I think he'd fit perfectly into Tottenham's midfield 🤔💡. It's crazy that Aston Villa were gonna snap him up first, but now Spurs are leading the charge 💪. If they can get him to agree on personal terms, this could be a game-changer for both Gallagher and Spurs ⚽️. With Rodrigo Bentancur out for a bit, this move makes total sense - Tottenham need that midfield boost and Gallagher's got the skills 🎯! Do you guys think he'll break into the England squad?

omg i cant believe spurs are finally getting their man conor gallagher!! he's been a beast for atletico and it'll be sick to see him back in the premier league 🤩👏 tuchel should defo give him more playing time tho, hes been waitin 4 ages 2 break into the england squad 🇬🇧🕺 i mean who doesnt wanna c gallagher doin his thang on the pitch lol 💪
