Haiti: Gang leader reportedly targeted in drone operation

Reports from Haitian media outlets suggest that notorious gang leader Jimmy "Barbecue" Cherizier's home in Port-au-Prince was the target of a drone operation. The influential figure, known for his anti-elite rhetoric and branding as an 'anti-establishment revolutionary', has faced numerous allegations of involvement in a range of crimes.

Cherizier is widely regarded as a key player behind the 2018 La Saline Massacre, in which several individuals lost their lives. His gang violence has become a major concern for authorities in Haiti, with many critics accusing him of using intimidation and violence to maintain control over his territory.

According to sources, Cherizier's home was targeted in an attempt to disrupt his operations and deter further involvement in the country's ongoing cycle of violence. However, details regarding the identity of those responsible for the drone operation remain unclear.

😬 I think it's crazy that Jimmy "Barbecue" Cherizier is still roaming free, especially given all the allegations against him. I mean, the guy has a history of violence and intimidation, and yet he's still out there promoting himself as some kind of revolutionary figure. 🤯 It's like he thinks he's above the law or something.

The fact that his home was targeted with a drone operation is a clear indication that someone is trying to take him down, but I'm not sure if it's going to be enough to stop him. Cherizier has been able to evade justice for so long, and it's likely that he has some serious connections and resources at his disposal.

It's also worth noting that the La Saline Massacre was a huge wake-up call for Haiti, and yet not much seems to have changed since then. The country is still plagued by gang violence and corruption, and it's clear that there are people like Cherizier who feel like they can get away with just about anything.

I'm not sure what the solution to all this is, but I do know that something needs to be done to hold people like Cherizier accountable for their actions. The use of a drone operation might be a good start, but it's going to take more than just one strike to bring him down. 🚫

So like I just read this news about some Haitian gang leader named Jimmy "Barbecue" Cherizier... and honestly it's kinda crazy how violent his gang has been getting. They've even been accused of causing that La Saline Massacre back in 2018 which is super tragic. I'm not sure if we can say he's an anti-establishment revolutionary or just someone who uses intimidation to control people. It's weird because the media said they targeted his home with a drone, which is like a pretty serious move... but at the same time I don't know what their end goal was. Is it really gonna stop him from causing more problems? 🤔

I'm low-key surprised that it took this long for someone to take action against Jimmy "Barbecue" Cherizier 💥🚫 He's been running his mouth and causing a lot of problems in Haiti for years, and I'm not sure what's going on with the authorities being so slow to act. Drone ops can be pretty effective, so hopefully this is just the beginning of taking him down a peg 🤞 Maybe now that the heat is on him, we'll see some real progress towards reducing gang violence in Haiti 💕

I'm not sure if this is a good idea or not 🤔. I mean, on one hand, taking down Jimmy "Barbecue" Cherizier would be a huge blow to his operations and maybe even help reduce some of the gang violence in Haiti. But, at the same time, it's also kinda like... what's gonna happen next? Are we just gonna create more chaos or something? 🤷‍♂️ I'm not sure if drone ops are the answer here either - it feels kinda... impersonal? And what about all the people who might get hurt in the crossfire? It's a complex situation and I don't think there's an easy fix.

idk how come this guy is even a big deal? sounds like a total thug to me 🤔. i mean, anti-elite rhetoric and all that jazz just means he's good at spin doctoring 💁‍♂️. and people are seriously worried about him leading some kind of revolution? more like a violent coup 😬. what's with the drone op tho? did someone finally get tired of his BS or was it just another failed attempt to take him down? 🚫 sources seem kinda sketchy on this one, wanna know who pulled the trigger... or should i say, who pushed the button? 💥

this guy is getting what's coming to him lol I mean, I've been following his story for a while now and it's just crazy how he's managed to stay one step ahead of the law. but at the same time, 6-7 years ago people were actually celebrating him as some kind of hero 🤣 now he's getting taken down by drone ops? that's just wild. anyway, I hope this sends a message to other gang leaders like him that they can't just get away with whatever they want 💥 and it's sad to see the violence in Haiti is still such a big issue, but I guess you gotta do what you gotta do when people are getting hurt 🤕

Ugh, can't believe they're using drones like it's no big deal 🚫💥. I mean, I get that Cherizier is a bit of a problem, but do we really have to resort to surveillance tech to take him down? It feels like the authorities are just throwing more fuel on the fire 🔥. And what about accountability? Who authorized this op and who's going to be held responsible if it backfires or causes civilian casualties? 🤔 The lack of transparency is super sketchy, imo 👀.

🚨 think this is a good move by whoever did the drone op... Cherizier's been a thorn in the side of Haiti's authorities for ages, and if he thinks he can just ride out the chaos with his gang violence, then someone needs to take him down a peg or two. 🤖 Problem is, we're still left wondering who was behind it all - could be some brave activists trying to bring some much-needed attention to the situation, or maybe it's just another power play in the game of thrones that is Haiti's underworld... either way, I hope this operation marks a turning point for the country and gets people talking about the root causes of this violence. 💡

🤯 Just what we need another high-profile target from some rogue individuals trying to send a message. I mean, Jimmy "Barbecue" Cherizier has been all over the news lately for his alleged involvement in gang violence and even the La Saline Massacre. It's about time someone took him down a peg. But, let's be real, this is just another example of how law enforcement struggles to deal with organized crime in Haiti.

I'm not saying I condone Cherizier's actions or ideology, but at the same time, we can't just sit back and watch as he continues to wreak havoc on the country. It's like they're playing a game of cat and mouse, where everyone gets hurt in the process. We need real solutions to tackle these gang leaders, not just tokenistic operations that try to send a message.

What do you guys think? Should we be worried about Cherizier's influence or is this just another case of him getting what's coming to him? 🤔

🤔 i mean, what's next? hitmen with quadcopters? like, come on guys, can't they just have a good old fashioned shootout or something? and another thing, this guy Cherizier is all about being some kinda revolutionary, but to me he just looks like a street thug trying to play the hero. 🤷‍♂️ anyone else think this drone op was a bit of a weird way to take care of business?

I'm not sure what's going on here. So they're trying to take out this guy "Barbecue" Cherizier with a drone? Like, what's next? Using drones to resolve all our problems? I mean, I get it, he's got some serious beef with the establishment and he's been linked to some pretty violent stuff. But targeting his home like that seems kinda extreme. And can we please talk about how this dude got away with running a gang for so long without getting caught? It's just not adding up.

And what really gets me is that everyone in Haiti knows who this guy is and how he operates. So if authorities are seriously trying to take him down, shouldn't they have been doing it a long time ago?

omg can u believe this dude got a drone dropped on his house like what kinda security do they think he has lol i mean im not saying jimmy "barbecue" is all bad but come on he's involved in some pretty heavy stuff and people are dyin left and right meanwhile hes out here livin life like no big deal 🤷‍♂️ i feel for the ppl affected by his gang violence tho, it's super scary for them. anyhoo think this drone op is a good move or just gonna make things worse? btw, i heard his home had a sick security system lol maybe they should've taken it more seriously 😏
