man, i'm hyped for liam rosenior's appointment at chelsea
it's about time we see more diverse faces in top-tier management, but let's not get too carried away here... the bigger picture is still pretty bleak, imo
there's a long way to go before we see meaningful change. i mean, 3.2% of ethnically diverse people in senior leadership positions? that's just embarrassing
and don't even get me started on the league managers association's concerns about implicit bias... it's like they're hiding behind a veil of "oh, we're working on it"
anyway, i think rosenior's success is all well and good, but let's not forget that he's just one person... we need systemic change, not just some token appointment
and yeah, transparency and accountability are key
if clubs start publishing their workforce diversity data and having targets for diverse representation, maybe we can make some real progress
but at the end of the day, it all comes down to us as fans... do we want to see more people like rosenior break through into top-tier positions? or do we just accept that change is slow and painful?
either way, i'm rooting for liam rosenior and his team, but let's not get too comfortable
