Former DePaul players and ex-Bull Antonio Blakeney charged in scheme to rig games

It's just mind-boggling when you think about it... these guys, former athletes, were getting paid millions for throwing games? And now everyone's asking why they didn't just report it back then? I mean, hindsight is 20/20, right? But what's even more concerning is how far this goes - over 39 players and 29 games across multiple teams... that's a huge network. The NCAA needs to get to the bottom of this and make sure these fixers aren't getting away with this. And what about all the students who were competing, never knowing they were part of some rigged game? 🤯🏀

This is insane 🤯! I mean, who gets caught up in a huge game-fixing scandal like this? I'm thinking about DePaul's season last year, it was so bad they had to fire their coach mid-season. Now we know why 😂. It's just crazy that players would do that for some cash. Did you see Blakeney's stats during the season? He was barely scoring at all 📊.

I'm wondering if this is connected to some other scandals in college sports or if it's a standalone thing. I remember when the U.S. Supreme Court lifted the betting ban, it seemed like a game-changer for sports gamblers but now it looks like they took it too far 💸.

This whole thing needs to be investigated further and everyone involved should face consequences. I'm not saying players can't get paid or anything, but rigging games is a whole different story 🚫.

This is so messed up 🤯, I mean I knew sports wasn't always on the level, but this is just crazy! Players and coaches rigging games for money? It's like they're throwing the whole season away. And to think it's all about making a quick buck, $10,000 to $30,000 per game is insane 💸.

I feel bad for DePaul University, they're getting roasted 🤦‍♂️ over this. I get that the NCAA has been trying to deal with sports betting for years, but this is like the ultimate slap in the face. Can't we just have fair play and honest competition? It's not too much to ask.

I wonder how many other scandals are gonna come out of this... did they really use players from 17 different teams? That's a lot of people involved 🤔. I hope those accused get their lives back on track, because if you're willing to throw away your integrity for cash, what else are you going to do with it?

This is crazy... I mean, I'm not surprised it's happening, especially at DePaul who were already struggling on the court. But $10,000 to $30,000 per game? That's insane! And a former NBA player like Blakeney getting in on this too? It's just mind-boggling. I feel bad for the students involved, they're just trying to make a living and they get pulled into something like this. The NCAA is already under pressure from sports betting, now this just adds fuel to the fire...

OMG, can you even believe this?? like, I'm literally shaking my head thinking about all these dudes getting caught up in this scandal!!! $200k for throwing a game? come on man! and it's not just one person, it's like 26 people involved?!?! the numbers are crazy, $10k to $30k per game? that's like, whoa! and DePaul, oh man... they were already struggling last season, now this? it's like, they gotta do better, you know?

I'm also thinking about all these players who got recruited into this scheme, Jalen Terry, Da'Sean Nelson, Micawber Etienne... how did they get swayed by the money and the promises?!? it's just so sad because we're talking about young men's futures here, not to mention the integrity of college sports.

The NCAA is trying to step up their game, cooperating with the investigation and all that, but can't they do more to prevent this in the first place?!? I mean, we know they've been dealing with these issues for a while now... it's like, how many times gotta happen before someone does something about it?!

And what really gets me is that this just follows other scandals, like players betting on their own teams and performances. It's like, the system has broken down or something!

Man, this is crazy 🤯! I'm still trying to wrap my head around the fact that former DePaul players and a Chicago Bulls alum are accused of rigging games for cash 💸. It's like, what's next? Are they gonna start selling their own fantasy leagues? 🤑 The idea that these guys were making millions off betting on their own teams is just wild 🌪️. And the fact that DePaul was struggling during that season makes it even more egregious 😔. I mean, what kind of message does this send to college athletes? That they can get paid to lose or cheat? It's not right 🤷‍♂️. The NCAA needs to do a lot better than just paying lip service to protecting its student-athletes – real change is needed 💪.
