The man taking over the Large Hadron Collider – only to switch it off

OMG u guys!!! CERN just got a new dir gen Mark Thomson & I'm SHAKING I mean, can u even imagine the discoveries they'll make with that new LHC upgrade?! It's like, who cares about the 5yr hiatus tho? We gotta keep pushing those protons to near light speed ASAP And btw, have u seen the pics of the FCC project? That thing is HUGE Like, a new tunnel for a 91km circumference? Talk about ambitious Anywayz, I'm low-key freaking out cuz CERN's reputation is on the line now Fingers crossed they keep pushing those boundaries & we get more answers about the universe Mark Thomson u da man!!!

I gotta say, this new LHC upgrade is a big deal. But turning it off for five years? That's some crazy talk ! I mean, I get that engineering work is important, but what about all those scientists who've been waiting to make their next groundbreaking discovery? It's like putting the brakes on progress .

I'm not sure about turning off the LHC for 5 years , but I get why they gotta do it . The upgrade is gonna make some huge changes , and I'm hyped to see what discoveries come outta it ! just thinkin' about this is makin' me curious... what if they dont replace lhc with FCC? like, whats the harm in keepin it as it is for another 10 years or somethin'? we still get discoveries comin outta that thing... and it's not like cern's gonna be stuck in a time warp or anythin'
