Spain to ban social media for under-16s, prime minister says – Europe live

Spain's Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez announced that he will step down as head of government on June 1st to face a trial for corruption.

man what's the lesson here? think about it... Sancho stepped down from his powerful position, not because anyone forced him to, but because he chose to, and that takes courage you know? we all wish we could walk away from our problems so easily. but sometimes life doesn't work like that. trials are a part of growing up I guess.

i wonder what made Sancho decide to step down now. is it the weight of his responsibilities or the fear of being found guilty? either way, it's clear he can't be in 2 places at once and protect his reputation. we all gotta learn to make tough choices & face our demons

anyway, trial or not, this event reminds us that power corrupts but it also teaches us humility. who knows what Sancho will come out of this as? maybe a stronger, wiser leader or just another broken man looking for answers

Ughhhhhh 😩 this is like the end of an era fam 🤯 i mean spain was always one of my fave countries 🇪🇸 but now it's like they're just going downhill 💔 pedro sanchez was like the face of spanish politics for so long and to think he's gonna be taken down by corruption is just wild 🤷‍♂️ i mean we all know there are corrupt politicians everywhere 🌎 but this one hits different because he's been at the top for so long 👑

and can you believe it's going down in a trial 😱 like what even is that 😳 this whole thing feels so...so...boring 💤 compared to other corruption scandals out there where at least someone gets hurt or dies 🚨 but i guess this one's just all about the politics 💼 and how they'll try to spin it and cover their tracks 🎭

anyway 👀 i feel bad for spain 🤕 this is like a national crisis or something 😳 what happens next who knows 🤷‍♂️ but one thing's for sure pedro sanchez's legacy is gonna be forever tarnished 💔

Ugh, I don't get why it's gotta be like this 🤦‍♂️... Spain's got some talented folks runnin' the show, and now Pedro Sanchez is throwin' in the towel? 😔 He was doin' alright too, implemented some solid policies, helped stabilize the economy after that messy Brexit debacle 💸. And now he's gotta leave 'cause of a corruption trial? 🤷‍♂️ It's just so... predictable, ya know?

Back in my day, we didn't have all these scandals and trials like this 🙄. Politicians were supposed to be above reproach, not some commoners with a price tag on their heads 💸. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for accountability, but it's just so... messy 🤯.

I mean, what's the real issue here? Is it corruption, or is it just politics as usual? 😒 Can't help but wonder if he's been set up, ya know? The Spanish people deserve better than this 💔. Anyway, I guess we'll see how this whole thing plays out 🔮. Not exactly the most inspiring news for global politics 🤷‍♂️.

can't believe what's happening in spain right now 🤯. i mean, pedro sanchez is a smart guy and all, but corruption? that's like, super serious business. if he's stepping down because of it, i guess its a good thing. hopefully the trial thing goes smoothly for him and he can just get on with his life.

but seriously, its got to be tough for spain right now. they've been dealing with some big issues lately, from the eurozone crisis to the refugee problem. and now this? it's like, one more thing to worry about. i guess its possible that sanchez was able to do what he thought was best for spain at the time, but still... you can't just ignore corruption and get away with it.

anyway, fingers crossed for spain and their government 🤞. maybe this trial will be a chance for some fresh blood and new ideas to come in. who knows?

I'm low-key surprised 😐 that Spain's PM is finally getting his just desserts 🤴♂️. Corruption's like, super unacceptable, and it's about time someone who's done the dirty work faces the music 💥. I mean, Sanchez's been in power for ages, so it's not like he's exactly a spring chicken anymore 🌻.

I'm curious to see how this whole thing plays out ⏰. Is he really going down for corruption, or is there more to it than meets the eye? Maybe there are some skeletons in his closet that he didn't count on 🕵️‍♂️. Either way, I think it's about time someone who's been accused of corruption takes responsibility and faces the consequences.

It's also weird that he's stepping down on June 1st ⏰. Is that just a coincidence, or is there something else going on? Maybe there are some other factors at play that we're not aware of 🤔. One thing's for sure though: this is gonna be an interesting ride 😁!

just saw this news and gotta say, it's a total mess 🤯. sanchez has been in power for ages and finally something catches up with him? i mean, we all know politics is dirty but come on, you've been dodging questions for years and now you're gonna step down over corruption charges? it's like he knew this was coming and decided to go out with a bang 💥.

anyway, it'll be interesting to see what happens next. will there be an election or just someone else taking the reins? and what about all these other politicians who've been making shady deals behind the scenes? seem like no one's ever held accountable 🙄.

on the plus side, maybe this is a chance for spain to actually address its corruption problem and show the world it can be done 💪. fingers crossed that the new gov'll be more transparent and less concerned with personal gain 👀. we'll just have to wait and see how this all plays out 🤔

Blimey, what a mess 🤯! Spain is going through one of those tricky times where the politician you trust most is now facing allegations that might just take him out of office. I'm genuinely concerned about how this will affect the stability of their government and the country as a whole 🤕.

As a parent, it's unsettling to see leaders who are supposed to be role models under scrutiny. I mean, who wouldn't want to know if the people in power are doing everything they can to serve their constituents? 😔 It's our kids' future that's being impacted by this, and we need to make sure they're getting the best possible representation.

I hope Pedro Sanchez's trial is a fair one and that he'll come out of it with his integrity intact 💯. Meanwhile, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the Spanish people who are having to navigate this chaos 🤞. Let's just hope it doesn't affect the education system or other essential services that our kids rely on 👀.

this is so crazy 😱, i mean who expects the spain pm to just announce his own resignation 🤯? and due to corruption charges no less... it's like the whole system is being turned upside down 💥. i wonder how this is going to affect the country now that pedro sanchez is stepping down... will there be a transition period or some kinda power struggle 💪? and what about all the corruption cases that have been going on in spain for ages... it's like, when do we get answers 🤔? i'm not saying sanchez didn't do anything wrong, but come on, who is next 🤷‍♀️? this is definitely going to be a wild ride 🎠.

omg u guys i cant even believe what's happening in spain right now Pedro Sanchez is like the ultimate power couple with his wife Maria Barra and they've been going through so much together what with the corruption scandals and all 🤯

i feel bad for him tho he does seem like a nice guy from the interviews i read he's always talking about how he wants to make spain a better place for its citizens but i guess when you're in power sometimes things get messy 💔

anyway i'm kinda curious what's gonna happen next idk if he'll be able to clear his name or just end up losing everything what a bummer 🤷‍♀️

just heard about this and gotta say i'm kinda sad 😔. pedro sanchez was like the last leader who actually understood what's going on with spain's economy. he was all about transparency and making changes, you know? 👍 and now he's gotta leave due to some corruption trial... it just doesn't seem fair 🤷‍♂️. but at the same time, i get why he'd wanna step down. who wants a bunch of allegations weighing them down while they're trying to lead the country? 🤯

anyway, gotta give credit to spain's system for having a good check and balance in place. if anyone gets caught up in some shady dealings, they just gotta deal with it and move on 💪. it's like, you can't be too careful when it comes to corruption and abuse of power 🚫. so yeah, i guess sanchez is making the right decision... even if it's not exactly the most ideal one 😐.

um so what's gonna happen now 🤔? Spain is like one of those countries with rich history and culture, right? i mean i've seen all those old castles and stuff online... anyway, back to pedro sanchez thingy... so he's being tried for corruption huh? that's like super serious business 😳. i wonder if he'll get off scot free or something... or maybe not? 🤷‍♂️

i've been thinking about this... what if other gov officials start getting into trouble too? will it be a domino effect or what? 🤯 and what about the people who voted for him in the first place? are they gonna stay loyal to his party or switch sides now? 🤔 also, i just realized that i still don't know how trial works 🤷‍♂️... is it like a reality tv show or something? lol anywayz, gotta keep an eye on this one, esp since spain's got a lot of influence in europe 🌎

OMG, can you believe what's happening in Spain? 🤯 Pedro Sanchez is like, one of the most popular politicians ever and now he's gonna be facing trial for corruption lol 😂 I mean, it's not ideal but you gotta respect the system and all that. It's like when your mate gets busted for cheating on his girlfriend, he's got to face the music too 🎶. The fact that Sanchez is stepping down voluntarily shows he's a pretty cool guy, you know? 🤜🤛 He could've tried to fight it but I guess even politicians have to follow the rules sometimes 😅. It'll be interesting to see how this whole thing plays out, especially since Spain has a reputation for being a country that values its politics and history. Will Sanchez get off scot-free or what? 🤔 Guess we'll just have to wait and see 💭

🤔 I'm actually kinda surprised by this decision. I know there's been some controversy surrounding PM Sanchez, but I think it's good that he's taking responsibility and stepping aside. It shows that he's willing to put the country first even if it means putting himself in a difficult situation.

I don't think we should be too quick to judge him just yet. We need to see what happens in court and how this whole thing plays out. Maybe there's more to it than meets the eye? 🤷‍♂️

It's also worth noting that this could potentially create an opportunity for some fresh faces to come into power. Who knows, maybe someone will come along and bring a new perspective to the role? 🌟

I'm not saying I agree with everything PM Sanchez has done, but I do think he's been trying to do what's best for Spain. And that takes courage, right? 💪

🤔 this is crazy! i mean, it's not uncommon for politicians to get caught up in scandals, but stepping down as prime minister? that's a big deal 🚨. i think it says a lot about the spanish system of government that sanchez feels comfortable doing this and still maintaining his dignity ⚖️.

i wonder if this will lead to some kind of transition period where someone else takes over temporarily, or if there's going to be an election held soon ⏰. either way, i think it's good for the country that someone is willing to take responsibility for their actions and face trial 💯.

it's also interesting to see how this will play out in terms of public opinion 📰. will people see sanchez as a fallen hero or as someone who got caught up in corruption? only time will tell 🕰️. one thing's for sure, though - this is going to be a wild ride 🎢!

Man I'm low-key shocked 🤯! Pedro Sanchez has been doing a solid job as PM, and now this? I don't know what the deal is with Spanish politics, but it seems like one scandal after another 💔. A trial for corruption? That's a major setback for him and the country. I hope he can get through this okay 🤞.

I'm not one to speak for others, but I think Sanchez has been a breath of fresh air in Spanish politics. He's always been outspoken about social issues, and his gov has done some great things like increasing funding for education and healthcare 📚🏥. Of course, no one is perfect, but it feels like he's being treated unfairly here.

I'm curious to see who'll take over as PM now... some of the other politicians seem pretty questionable themselves 😕. Fingers crossed for Spain that they can navigate this situation with minimal disruption 🤞🌎

😱 what's going on in Spain?? I mean, it's like they're taking a bold move by stepping him down mid-term and letting him deal with the corruption trial... 🤔 but is this gonna set a bad precedent for other leaders? 🙄 I guess only time will tell. One thing's for sure, Sanchez has been a pretty polarizing figure in Spain so it's not like he's entirely unpopular... 😐 on one hand, you've gotta admire the courage to take responsibility for your actions and all that, but on the other hand, isn't this just gonna create more drama and chaos before the election? 🤯 I'm curious to see how the opposition is gonna capitalize on this. Will they be able to find a unifying leader or will it be another messy Spanish politics situation... 🤷‍♂️

Whoa 😱 this is huge! I mean I knew there were rumors about Sanchez being involved in some shady stuff, but I didn't think it'd come to this. I'm kinda shocked that he's gonna step down as PM - what does the country do now? 🤔 They need someone with experience like him, but at the same time, corruption is no joke and you can't just sweep it under the rug.

I've been following this story for a while now, and to be honest, I'm kinda disappointed. Sanchez was always pretty polarizing, but you'd think he'd want to see it through to the end rather than running away from it. Maybe this is an opportunity for Spain to reform its corruption laws or something? 💡 That's what I hope anyway. The Spanish people deserve better than someone who gets caught up in a whole mess like this. They should be able to trust their leaders, you know?

Anyway, June 1st can't come soon enough - time for some fresh faces and new ideas! 🕰️

🤔 This guy is finally getting what's coming to him... I mean, it's about time, right? He's been in office for years and everyone knew he was corrupt from the start. It's just sad that it took this long for someone to actually do something about it. I'm sure it has nothing to do with the fact that he's a member of Podemos, but yeah, corruption is definitely alive and well in Spain... 🙄

I don't think anyone will be surprised when he gets acquitted, tbh. The Spanish justice system is notorious for being pretty lenient on politicians. And let's be real, who hasn't been accused of something at some point? It's all just a big game of "I'll do it eventually"... meanwhile, the country is still getting the benefits of his shady dealings. 🤑 I'm sure he'll pop up again in politics sooner or later, with a new party and a smile on his face... 😒

man thats crazy whats going on in spain 🤯 I feel bad for the guy, stepping down like that can be really tough for u personally and professionally, but at the same time you gotta do what's right, even if it means facing some heat 💡

I mean, corruption is a huge issue everywhere, not just in spain, its like we all gotta be more vigilant and make sure our governments are being transparent and honest with us 🤝

it would've been awesome to see him fight the charges instead of stepping down, but I guess thats just not an option for everyone 🙏

anyway, it's gonna be interesting to see how things play out from now on, hopefully spain can get back on track and start making some real changes 💪
