Man Attacks Subway Rider with Baseball Bat in Bronx, NYPD Seeks Suspect
A 40-year-old man was brutally attacked at a subway station in the Bronx on Thursday evening, leaving him with serious injuries. The suspect allegedly wielded a baseball bat and struck the victim multiple times on the face before fleeing the scene.
According to authorities, the incident occurred at the Kingsbridge Road station on the B and D lines in Fordham Manor shortly before 6 p.m. last week. Witnesses reported that the two men did not know each other, but police are still investigating a potential motive for the violent assault.
The victim was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital in stable condition, where he is currently receiving treatment for his injuries.
Meanwhile, the NYPD is also investigating another subway attack that occurred last week in Lower Manhattan's Broadway–Lafayette Street station on the B, D, and F lines. In this incident, a 51-year-old man was stabbed multiple times after 5 a.m. Wednesday. The suspect is described as approximately 6'4" and in his 30s.
Surveillance footage shows the assailant wearing a black jacket, black hood, and blue or gray backpack at the time of the attack.
Police are also searching for a 15-year-old boy who was slashed on the left hand by an attacker wielding a knife on a northbound E train near Jamaica Avenue station in Queens last Thursday. The suspect is believed to be wearing a black jacket and face mask, and police are reviewing security footage to identify their suspect.
According to NYPD data, major transit crime has seen a decline in recent years, with 136 incidents reported through January 25 this year, up from 131 at the same point last year.

. Can't we just have a safe ride to work without worrying about our safety? The layout of the subway map is still the most confusing, I mean, why do they put the Kingsbridge Road station on both lines?! It's like, which one did you take again? 
Anyways, back to serious stuff, 136 incidents reported is still too many, and it's only mid-January 
. We need more security cameras and better lighting at night. And can we please get some layout suggestions from someone who actually knows what they're doing?!
. Like, isn't it weird how people just go around carrying baseball bats or knives to random strangers on public transportation? What's the deal with that? 
It's not like we don't have enough safety measures in place already... are we really relying on our own instincts to stay safe? 
It's crazy that a 15-year-old was able to slash someone on the subway and get away with it, meanwhile the NYPD is reviewing security footage for like, what, hours before catching their guy? 
We need better surveillance tech and more effective policing ASAP! 
. We need to do something about this, like increase security measures on subways or something. I'm not saying it's gonna solve everything but at least it's a start 
. And can we talk about how crazy that 15-year-old kid is wearing a face mask in the subway? Like what's he even doing down there?!

... I mean, what's going on here? First, a guy gets attacked with a baseball bat, then another dude gets stabbed, and now some teenager is slashed by a knife-wielding stranger. Like, can't we just get to work or school without having to worry about our safety? And what's with all these people wearing black jackets and hoodies - are they trying to hide their faces from us? 
. Can we get a more detailed breakdown of what's happening? Is it just the NYPD being super optimistic or is there really less crime occurring? And if so, why do we only hear about the violent attacks when they happen, not after they happen? This whole thing feels off 
Can't even imagine how scared and hurt he must be right now. NYPD is doing their thing to catch the suspect tho 
. Fingers crossed they find him soon! 
. We need to feel safe when we're using public transportation.
Just kidding, but seriously, it's all about accountability and knowing that someone's gonna step up and take responsibility for their actions. Can't just lash out at innocent people like that. We need more awareness, education, and community programs to prevent this kind of thing from happening in the first place. 
New York City needs better security measures ASAP 
. Have you guys ever been? The scenic views and outdoor activities are amazing! I heard the best way to travel is by hiking or biking, so that's what I'd do if I went. Maybe one day, after I finish saving up for my trip... anyway, back to this news – I wonder if the NYPD has any new security measures in place to prevent these types of incidents?
The NYPD is doing their thing to catch those suspects, but it's still not enough, you know? We need more community support and awareness about these kinds of incidents so we can all look out for each other 
. Sending positive vibes to the victim and his family that they get the help they need 
and what's with all the surveillance footage? are we living in a movie or something? 
can't people just walk away from a fight without resorting to that kind of stuff? 
It's like, basic human rights, right?
It's not like it's a huge deal or anything... a baseball bat to the face is pretty much a no-brainer for "personal space violation" 
. But seriously, 136 incidents in one year down from last year? That's still way too many
