Jill Biden's first husband charged with killing wife in domestic dispute at their Delaware home

A former husband of US First Lady Jill Biden has been charged with killing his wife in a domestic dispute at their Delaware home, authorities announced on Tuesday.

According to a news release from the Delaware Attorney General's office, 77-year-old William Stevenson was arrested and charged with first-degree murder. The charge stems from the alleged fatal beating of 64-year-old Linda Stevenson, Jill Biden's ex-wife, who died after police were called to their home following a reported domestic dispute at around 11 pm on December 28.

Stevenson remains in jail without bail after his arrest on Monday, where he was charged with first-degree murder. The Delaware Department of Justice conducted a weekslong investigation that ultimately led to the indictment against Stevenson. It is unclear whether he has retained a lawyer at this point.
