Local High School Basketball Teams Take to the Court in Tuesday's Action-Packed Matchups
Tuesday night saw an exciting array of high school basketball games across Chicagoland and its surrounding suburbs. From Public League Tournaments to non-conference showdowns, teams from various districts put on a show that had fans cheering.
In the Public League Tournament, Hyde Park emerged victorious over Dunbar, while Perspectives-LT edged out King 56-38. The Youngsters took down Taft in their own game, with Amundsen coming up just short against Lake View. Simeon, meanwhile, crushed Corliss, winning 68-24, and Fenger triumphed over Bogan.
The West Suburban league also saw some thrilling results, as Curie outscored Little Village 62-28 in a battle that seemed to be all but one-sided until the end of the fourth quarter. Crane, meanwhile, caused an upset over Westinghouse, handing them their first loss of the season.
In the Central Suburban South league, Evanston dominated Glenbrook North 88-45. The rest of the teams in this league fared less well, with Maine South unable to beat Glenbrook South and Wheaton Academy falling short against Chicago Christian.
The DuKane conference saw some competitive games, as Batavia edged St. Charles North 64-52 and Geneva won a nail-biter over Lake Park 53-44. Glenbard North took down Wheaton-Warrenville South in double overtime 59-53.
Other notable wins included Cary-Grove's 56-51 upset of Huntley in the Fox Valley league, Crystal Lake Central's 63-60 victory over Burlington Central, and Jacobs' 52-41 win over Dundee-Crown. In the Illinois Central Eight conference, Manteno took down Lisle 51-44, while Peotone emerged victorious against Coal City 59-54 in overtime.
The Interstate Eight league saw Kaneland defeat Rochelle 81-54, while Ottawa beat Morris 44-31. In the Lake Shore league, Morgan Park Academy outscored Intrinsic-Downtown 71-49 and Lombard CPSA took down Hinsdale Adventist 79-59 in the Metro Prep conference.
