'NATO could do so much more', Ukraine MP says as Russia resumes large-scale strikes

NATO Faces Criticism Amid Escalating Conflict in Ukraine

Ukrainian MP Lisa Yasko has expressed frustration with the current state of NATO's response to the ongoing conflict with Russia, stating that the alliance could be doing significantly more to ensure security in the region. Her comments come as large-scale strikes resumed overnight, further straining ties between Moscow and Kyiv.

According to NATO chief Mark Rutte, Tuesday's attacks suggest Russia is not taking a serious approach towards peace talks, prompting the US to push for negotiations to halt hostilities. However, Yasko disputes this assessment, arguing that NATO has the necessary capabilities to provide stronger support to Ukraine.

"NATO could do so much more in terms of security," Yasko said in an interview with FRANCE 24. Her remarks underscore the Ukrainian parliamentarian's disappointment with the alliance's response to the crisis, which she believes falls short of what is needed to effectively deter Russian aggression.

The renewed strikes have raised concerns about the stability of the region and the ability of NATO to respond effectively. As diplomatic efforts continue to try and find a path forward, Yasko's comments serve as a reminder that the alliance's actions will be closely watched by Ukraine and other regional players.

NATO's current response has been seen as inadequate by many, including Yasko, who believes that stronger support for Ukraine would help to shift the balance of power in favor of the Eastern European nation.

I'm not surprised NATO's reaction is being questioned ๐Ÿค”. It feels like they're stuck in a loop, always talking about security but never actually providing it ๐Ÿ’ฅ. Yasko's right, they have the tools and resources to make a bigger impact ๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ. But at the same time, I wonder if we're just expecting NATO to solve all our problems? Like, are they even doing enough for their own countries, let alone Ukraine? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ It's a tough situation, but I think it's up to us to keep pushing them to do more ๐Ÿ’ช.

I'm not sure I agree with Lisa Yasko about NATO's capabilities ๐Ÿค”... I mean don't get me wrong, they've been doing some stuff over there but it's not like they're a superpower or anything ๐Ÿ’ช. I think what Ukraine needs is more than just security, they need actual help to rebuild and recover from all this ๐Ÿ’ธ. And yeah NATO could do more, but it's not that simple ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ... Russia's got some serious game too, you know? We can't just expect one side to back down without giving the other a chance to talk things out ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ. How about we try a different approach, like, I don't know, diplomacy and all that? ๐Ÿคž

omg what's going on with nato rn? they're just standing there while russia is bombing ukraine it's like they're not even trying lol ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ˜ฉ i feel like they should be doing more to help ukraine, mark rutte saying they could do more but still nothing's changing ๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ’”

I think NATO is playing it too safe ๐Ÿค”. They're always like "we'll do something when we're good and ready" ๐Ÿ’ธ. Meanwhile Russia's just keeping on truckin' with its aggression. I mean, Ukraine needs some serious backing ASAP โฐ. Mark Rutte's comments about Russia not taking peace talks seriously seem kinda weak sauce ๐Ÿฅ›. What if they actually did take it serious? Would Russia just up and leave? ๐Ÿ’ช

Man, NATO is just being super slow on this Ukraine situation ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ’” They're not doing enough to help out Kyiv and it's frustrating to see Russia getting all the attention while Ukraine is struggling to defend itself ๐Ÿ’ฃ๐Ÿ‘Š I mean, come on, Lisa Yasko makes some legit points โ€“ NATO has the resources and capabilities to do so much more ๐Ÿคฏ๐Ÿ’ธ But no, they're just kinda... stuck in neutral ๐Ÿ”„๐Ÿ˜ And now with these renewed strikes, it's like, what's the point of even trying for peace? ๐Ÿ˜’ It's all just a big mess, you know? ๐Ÿ˜•

OMG, I'm like totally worried about this situation ๐Ÿค•. NATO's response is so lackluster right now - it's like they're just sitting there and expecting others to fix the mess for them ๐Ÿ™„. Ukraine needs way more support than that! ๐Ÿšจ

[Diagram: a simple flowchart showing the chain of events, with a big X through it]

We need some serious diplomatic efforts happening ASAP ๐Ÿ’ฌ! Russia needs to take this whole peace talk thing seriously, you know? ๐Ÿ˜’ And NATO should be doing more than just pushing for negotiations - they should be leading the charge ๐Ÿ’ช!

This escalating conflict is getting out of hand ๐Ÿšจ. We need to find a way to de-escalate this situation ASAP before it's too late ๐Ÿ˜ฉ. Ukraine deserves better than just inadequate support from NATO - they deserve a full-on ally ๐Ÿ’•!

๐Ÿš€ just heard about this NATO thingy and I'm low-key worried ๐Ÿค”... like what if they don't step up their game? Russia is getting all aggressive on Ukraine and it's a total mess ๐ŸŒช๏ธ... and now Lisa Yasko is saying that NATO needs to do more, which I'm all for ๐Ÿ’โ€โ™€๏ธ... but at the same time, like what's the hold-up? Can't they just send some troops or something? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ This whole situation is giving me major anxiety ๐Ÿ˜ฌ and I'm not even sure how it's gonna end ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ’”. Anyone else keeping an eye on this NATO drama? ๐Ÿ“บ

๐Ÿค” NATO needs to step up its game ๐Ÿ’ช! They're not doing enough to help Ukraine out ๐Ÿค•. I mean, Russia's been attacking them nonstop and NATO is just kinda... meh ๐Ÿ˜. We need more troops on the ground, more air support, and a lot more funding for Ukraine ๐Ÿค‘. It's like they say: "talk is cheap" ๐Ÿ’ฌ, but action is what really matters ๐Ÿ”ฅ. I'm not saying it's all NATO's fault, but they're definitely not doing enough to help out ๐Ÿ‘Š. Let's see some real leadership from the top guys ๐Ÿ‘‘! ๐Ÿš€

I feel like NATO is getting a bad rep here ๐Ÿค”... I mean, they're trying their best with what they have, but maybe we shouldn't be so quick to judge? Russia's been doing some crazy stuff lately, and it's hard to blame Ukraine for wanting some extra help ๐Ÿ’ช. Yasko makes some legit points about NATO having more capabilities to throw at the situation ๐Ÿš€... wouldn't it be great if they could just find a way to make everyone happy again? ๐Ÿ˜Š It's all so complicated, you know?

I think NATO is caught between a rock and a hard place ๐Ÿค”. On one hand, you've got Russia doing some pretty aggressive stuff, but on the other, NATO doesn't want to escalate things too much or it could lead to a bigger mess ๐Ÿ’ฅ. I get where Yasko's coming from though - Ukraine needs more support ASAP if they're gonna have any chance of pushing back against Russia's aggression ๐Ÿค–. The thing is, NATO's got to be careful not to create a dependency on them that would make other countries in the region feel like they can't defend themselves on their own ๐Ÿ™…โ€โ™‚๏ธ. I think what Yasko's saying is that there's gotta be a way for NATO to provide support without making it look like they're backing Ukraine against Russia, you know? It's a delicate balance to strike ๐Ÿ’ธ.

I donโ€™t usually comment but I think NATO needs to step up its game ๐Ÿค”. Like, they're already doing something, but it's not enough, you know? Russia is still bombing away and NATO's like "oh no, we need to talk" ๐Ÿ“บ. Meanwhile, Ukraine's like "please just send some real help" ๐Ÿšจ. I don't think the US or anyone else should be surprised that Yasko's frustrated - it's a pretty tough spot for her to be in. The EU and NATO are all about peace and stability, but sometimes they need to show they're serious ๐Ÿ’ธ. Maybe if they just sent more troops or something, Russia would take them seriously ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ. I mean, Ukraine's got some awesome soldiers fighting on the front lines, maybe NATO should be supporting them more? It's like they're trying to play a game of whack-a-mole with Russia and it's not working ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ’ฃ.

come on nato can do better than this ๐Ÿค” they need to step up their game and provide more support to ukraine it's not like they're just sitting back and watching the conflict escalate ... and what's with mark rutte thinking that just because russia isn't taking a serious approach to peace talks then they should just sit back and hope for the best? ๐Ÿ™„ nato needs to be more proactive in this situation

lol what's up with nato not stepping its game up? they're all like "oh we're here for you ukraine" but really they're just standing there watching Russia do whatever it wants ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ i mean lisa yasko gets a point tho, they have the capabilities to make a real difference but instead they're just playing it safe. it's like nato is saying "don't worry ukranians we've got your back" but then they don't do anything ๐Ÿšซ and that's not good enough. maybe if they showed some real commitment to helping ukraine out they could actually make a dent in the conflict. as it stands, nato just looks like they're trying to save face rather than actually doing something about it ๐Ÿ™„

idk why ppl think NATO is doin enough, they're just paper pushin' it rn ๐Ÿค”. if they really wanted 2 help ukraine, they'd be sendin more troops & heavier artillery, not just "support" from other countries ๐Ÿค‘. yasko's right tho, they got the capability 2 make a real difference, but they're choosin to hold back ๐Ÿ’ธ. it's all about politics & diplomacy, not about puttin in the work to actually help ukraine ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ.

๐Ÿค” I mean, what's up with NATO being all like "oh, we're doing enough" when it's pretty clear they're not? ๐Ÿ™„ Lisa Yasko makes some solid points about them having more to give in terms of security. I think it's a bit dodgy that they're saying Russia isn't taking peace talks seriously when that's exactly what they need - to feel like their concerns are being heard. NATO's got the capabilities, so why aren't they using them? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ It's not like Ukraine is asking for much, just some basic support to hold off on this Russian aggression. And honestly, it's starting to look like they're only trying to placate Russia when they're getting hammered... ๐Ÿšจ

omg this is crazy! NATO needs to step up their game ASAP ๐Ÿš€๐Ÿ’ฅ ukraine is being smashed and they're still not doing enough? like what even is the point of having a military alliance if you can't back each other up in times like these? ๐Ÿ˜ฌ i mean i get it, diplomacy is cool and all but sometimes you gotta show some muscle ๐Ÿ’ช. mark rutte's trying to say that russia's not being serious about peace talks but lisa yasko is like "nope, you're just winging it" ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ. gotta keep the pressure on russia, can't let them get away with this ๐Ÿ˜ก. nato needs to up their game and support ukraine more! ๐Ÿ’ฅ
