A 12-year-old girl was kidnapped from the streets of Galveston, Texas, where she had been walking her dog, before being taken to a hotel room where she was subjected to an assault by a Dallas man.
Graham Dunn, 27, is now behind bars after police found him in the hotel room with the girl, who was reported missing hours earlier. According to court documents, the girl claimed that Dunn forced her into his car and drove her to the hotel, where he gave her two pills that made her feel disoriented. She also alleged that Dunn touched her sexually and recorded it on his phone.
Police say they discovered Dunn's whereabouts after receiving a call from the girl's family when her dog returned home without her. Her phone had pinged at the hotel, leading investigators to obtain surveillance footage showing the suspect entering the room with the victim.
When police arrived at the hotel, Dunn refused to fully open the door and was eventually forced entry by law enforcement. What they found inside was shocking - Dunn was wearing only his boxers while the girl was lying on a bed with her pants down.
Independent police observer Harvey Freebird captured footage of Dunn being led out of the hotel in handcuffs, just hours after his arrest.
Dunn has a history of similar charges against him. In North Carolina last year, three separate women accused him of crimes including sexual battery and secret peeping. At the time of his arrest on Friday, he was out on bond for those crimes as well as fighting a false imprisonment charge.
The Dallas County Sheriff's Office confirmed that Dunn had warrants outstanding for insufficient bond from a family violence case and other misdemeanor charges.
During a court appearance on Saturday, Dunn claimed to have never had a felony charge on his record. However, the magistrate told him that was no longer true with the new charge of aggravated kidnapping added to his list. His bail was set at $500,000.
