Victory Brewing is celebrating America's 250th birthday with the release of its limited-edition ale, Philly First. The new beer, brewed in collaboration with Visit Philadelphia, boasts a crisp and easy-drinking taste profile at 4.8% ABV, accompanied by light hop notes and hints of tropical fruit.
According to Kelly Irvine, senior brand manager for Victory Brewing, "Beer has a way of bringing people together," which is exactly what this new beer aims to do. The company's goal is to toast Philadelphia's rich history and traditions with Philly First, a sentiment shared by Visit Philadelphia.
The 16-ounce can art features illustrations that nod to the city's innovative spirit, including Benjamin Franklin's first public lending library and the iconic slinky toy that debuted in the 1940s. The label proudly proclaims, "Philly was first at a lot of things. Now, itβs in your cooler."
As part of its anniversary celebrations, Victory Brewing is also marking a major milestone β 25 years since founding their Downingtown brewery. Founded by Bill Covaleski and Ron Barchet in 1996, the company has since expanded to multiple taprooms across Pennsylvania.
The Philly First beer will be available starting February 15 at Victory's taprooms, followed by its release at regional bars two weeks later. The brew will also be distributed in 16-ounce cans through local distributors and beer boutiques, marking a fitting way to commemorate this historic milestone.
