Victory Brewing is making a beer for America's 250th birthday

Victory Brewing is celebrating America's 250th birthday with the release of its limited-edition ale, Philly First. The new beer, brewed in collaboration with Visit Philadelphia, boasts a crisp and easy-drinking taste profile at 4.8% ABV, accompanied by light hop notes and hints of tropical fruit.

According to Kelly Irvine, senior brand manager for Victory Brewing, "Beer has a way of bringing people together," which is exactly what this new beer aims to do. The company's goal is to toast Philadelphia's rich history and traditions with Philly First, a sentiment shared by Visit Philadelphia.

The 16-ounce can art features illustrations that nod to the city's innovative spirit, including Benjamin Franklin's first public lending library and the iconic slinky toy that debuted in the 1940s. The label proudly proclaims, "Philly was first at a lot of things. Now, it’s in your cooler."

As part of its anniversary celebrations, Victory Brewing is also marking a major milestone – 25 years since founding their Downingtown brewery. Founded by Bill Covaleski and Ron Barchet in 1996, the company has since expanded to multiple taprooms across Pennsylvania.

The Philly First beer will be available starting February 15 at Victory's taprooms, followed by its release at regional bars two weeks later. The brew will also be distributed in 16-ounce cans through local distributors and beer boutiques, marking a fitting way to commemorate this historic milestone.

OMG you guys I'm so down for trying out this new Philly First ale from Victory Brewing πŸΊπŸŽ‰ it sounds like the perfect way to celebrate America's 250th birthday! I love that they're collaborating with Visit Philadelphia to bring a little bit of history and culture into every can πŸ“šπŸ‘ Bill Covaleski and Ron Barchet must be so proud to be marking 25 years since founding their brewery in Downingtown - that's amazing πŸŽ‰ 16-ounce cans are also the perfect size for a quick drink on-the-go, I'm already imagining myself with one of these at the park or beach this spring β˜€οΈ

OMG, I'M SO DOWN FOR THIS NEW BEER!!! πŸΊπŸŽ‰ PHILLY FIRST SOUNDS LIKE A GAME CHANGER! 4.8% ABV AND TROPICAL FRUIT NOTES? YAAAS, PLEASE! I LOVE HOW VICTORY BREWING IS TEAMING UP WITH VISIT PHILADELPHIA TO CELEBRATE THE CITY'S RICH HISTORY! πŸŽ‚ BENJAMIN FRANKLIN WOULD PROBABLY APPROVE OF THIS BEER, RIGHT? πŸ€“ AND 25 YEARS SINCE FOUNDED? THAT'S HUGE FOR A BREWERY! CONGRATS ON REACHING THIS MILESTONE, VICTORY BREWING!

Man, I heard Philly First is gonna bring people together... with the beer, of course! Can you imagine having a party and saying, "Hey, let's celebrate America's 250th birthday... in a can!" πŸΊπŸŽ‰ It's like they're trying to out-proud Philadelphia (no pun intended). But seriously, 25 years of brewing is no joke – I'd love to have a pint (or two) with Bill and Ron at the Downingtown brewery. The art on the can is fire, too! Who knew Benjamin Franklin and a slinky toy would be so iconic? 🀣

I love how they're combining history with awesome beer πŸΊπŸŽ‰ Philly First sounds like just the thing for sipping on while watching the Liberty Bell rings... or rewatching the Independence Hall documentary series 😊 The brewery's collaborations with Visit Philadelphia is a great idea, I'm always down to try new beers that tell a story. 25 years is a big deal, hope they keep crushing it for the next quarter century!

Wow 🍺πŸ’₯ Philly First is straight fire! I mean what's not to love about a new beer that celebrates the city's rich history? The art on the can is sick too! 🎨 Benjamin Franklin and the slinky toy are like, the ultimate Philly vibes. 25 years of Victory Brewing is no joke either, been a fan for ages. This limited-edition ale better live up to the hype... fingers crossed it's as delicious as it sounds 🀞

I'm so down for trying out Philly First when it drops! πŸΊπŸŽ‰ It's awesome that Victory Brewing is celebrating America's birthday with their own special brew - I mean who doesn't love a good excuse to crack open a cold one and toast the country? 😊 The fact that they're collaborating with Visit Philadelphia adds an extra layer of coolness, since Philly has such a rich history and culture. I'm also loving the can art - it's so on point with the city's vibe! 🎨 25 years is no joke for Victory Brewing, and it's awesome to see them still killing the game. Can't wait to try out this new beer and give it two thumbs up πŸ‘

can you imagine having an ale that's literally brewed for america's birthday? πŸŽ‰ philly first sounds like a really cool name, love the idea of it bringing people together over a pint. 4.8% abv doesn't sound too bad either 😊. i think it's awesome that they're collaborating with visit philadelphia to celebrate the city's rich history and traditions. the can art looks super cool too! πŸ’‘ Benjamin franklin's library and the slinky toy are such iconic philly symbols. now we just gotta get our hands on some of this limited-edition ale 🀞.

I think it's so cool that they're releasing a special beer just for America's birthday πŸŽ‰! I mean, who doesn't love a good ale, right? The fact that it's in collaboration with Visit Philadelphia is really nice, it shows they care about the city and its history. The can art looks super cool too, all those old-school Philly stuff like Benjamin Franklin's library... it's like a time capsule! I'm definitely gonna check out this beer when it comes out, 25 years of Victory Brewing is a big deal πŸŽ‚

Ugh, another gimmicky beer collaboration... πŸ€” I mean, don't get me wrong, Philly First sounds alright, but come on, 4.8% ABV? That's like, super sessionable, which is exactly the problem - people will drink it all day and not even remember that it's a special edition beer to celebrate America's 250th birthday... πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ And those tropical fruit notes? Just another way for breweries to create buzz without actually creating anything groundbreaking. Can't they just make a decent IPA or something instead of slapping "limited edition" on everything? πŸ˜’

omg i wonder if philly first is really going to bring people together like kelly irvine said πŸ€” i mean beer does seem to be a universal language but can one beer truly capture the essence of an entire city? πŸΊπŸŒ† also i love that they chose benjamin franklin's library and slinky toy on the label - so nostalgic! πŸ’‘ and 25 years is such a big deal for victory brewing - have you ever been to pennsylvania or had any victory brews? πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

πŸŽ‰ Philly First sounds like a party in a can! I'm all for celebrating America's birthday with some sick brews 🍺😎. Can't wait to try it out, hope they bottle it for me too πŸ“¦πŸ’Έ

I mean, who doesn't love a good pint on a special occasion? And 25 years of Victory Brewing is a major milestone! I've always loved their beers, but now I'm curious to try Philly First... maybe I'll have to pick one up for myself πŸ€—

Can't wait to grab one at Victory's taprooms or maybe even score some online 🀞
