Premier League highlights: Newcastle United 2-3 Brentford

Newcastle United's St James' Park witnessed a dramatic 3-2 defeat to Brentford, courtesy of a late goal from Dango Ouattara in the 85th minute. This result marked Brentford's first win at their new home since 1934.

The Magpies had taken an early lead through two goals from Allan Saint-Maximin, sending the hosts into high spirits. However, Ivan Toney equalized for Brentford just before halftime to bring the visitors back into contention.

In a thrilling second half, Yoan Fabio Grégoire put Brentford ahead with a stunning 75th-minute strike that rebounded off the crossbar and past the outstretched hand of goalkeeper Martin Dúbravka. The home side looked reinvigorated but Ouattara's late goal sealed the win for Brentford, leaving Newcastle stunned.

The loss marks Newcastle's first defeat at St James' Park since September 2022.

Omg, what a crazy game 🤯! I'm still in shock after that last-minute winner from Dango Ouattara 😱! I mean, the Magpies were cruising along with those two goals from Allan Saint-Maximin, but Brentford just wouldn't give up 💪. Ivan Toney's equalizer was a real wake-up call for Newcastle, and then Yoan Fabio Grégoire's 75th-minute strike was just insane ⚡️! The way it rebounded off the crossbar and past Martin Dúbravka's outstretched hand was pure magic ✨. And to think this is Brentford's first win at St James' Park since 1934... what a historic moment 🏆! Newcastle, you guys are gonna bounce back from this one 💪🔥 #BrentfordOnTheRise #NewcastleUnited #EPL #FootballFrenzy

I'm so bummed for the Toon Army 🐝😔 they really deserved that win! Allan Saint-Maximin is on fire 🔥 and Yoan Fabio Grégoire's goal was absolute magic ✨

But Brentford played some great football too 🤩, and Dango Ouattara's goal was a real sucker punch 😱. I mean, Newcastle took the lead and then they just let it slip away... what were they thinking? 🤔

I love how excited the crowd at St James' Park got when they went 2-0 up 💥 though! But that halftime equalizer from Ivan Toney was a real wake-up call for the home team 😅.

Anyway, Brentford's win is massive for them 👏 and Newcastle's loss might give them a reality check 🤯. We'll see how they bounce back from this one 🔜

🏆 This result is a perfect example of how teams can turn the tables in football! I mean, Newcastle was on top 2-0 and then suddenly found themselves battling back. You gotta feel for them, but at the same time, Brentford's win is a testament to their squad strength. It's like they're showing the rest of the league that they're not to be underestimated.

But let's talk about the bigger picture here... Newcastle's performance in this game can be seen as a reflection of the state of their team's finances. They've been struggling to sign new players, and it shows on the pitch. Meanwhile, Brentford is one of those underdog teams that proves you don't need a massive budget to compete with the likes of Manchester City or Liverpool.

It's all about the system in place, you know? How teams are run, funded, and coached can make all the difference. So, while Newcastle's fans might be disappointed, this win for Brentford could be seen as an example of how smaller clubs can punch above their weight with the right approach... 🤔

man thats crazy...like i was just watchin the 95 match between newcastle and manchester united and now brentford is all over st james park like what happened to them?? they went from gettin thrashed by liverpool to winning at home its wild 😂🏆 i remember when newcastle won the league back in 1996 and it was a huge deal for the city, now its just another team tryin to get that feel good factor 🤩

🤔 just don't understand why Newcastle coulda won it from 1-2 down 🤦‍♂️ Dango Ouattara's goal was a cracker, can't deny that 😎 but what's goin on at St James' Park? seems like they're losin the plot ⚫️. Allan Saint-Maximin is doin well for them, but they just can't seem to keep the win 🤷‍♂️ maybe Brentford just outplayed 'em in the end 💪

😱 "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." 🙅‍♂️ Guess that didn't apply here tho, Newcastle just gave it their all and still came up short 😔.

I'm not sure what's going on with Newcastle right now, they seem like a team in transition. Staying positive though, you can't win 'em all! 💪 They'll bounce back from this one for sure.

omg what a game!! 🤯 i'm still in shock lol brentford came from behind and snatched that win in stoppage time! 😱 dango ouattara's goal was insane, rebounding off the crossbar and finding the net 😲 martín dubravka must've been wondering where did that come from? 🤷‍♂️ st james' park was electric but brentford deserved the 3 points, they played some wicked football 💪 gotta say tho, newcastle's defense was a bit shaky, especially in the second half 👀 Allan saint-maximin's goals were lit though 🔥 still, tough loss for the magpies 🤕

omg u guys cant even 😱 this brentford team is like a dark horse or smthn 🤯 i mean they were down by one goal and then turn around to win in the last minute of the game? that's crazy 🔥 and ouattara's goal was pure luck, but still nice job on getting that win for brentford 💯 anyway, newcastle is def losing it if they cant even beat brentford 🙅‍♂️

OMG, what a crazy match!!! I was on the edge of my seat watching it live 🤯! That last minute winner from Dango Ouattara was insane 💥! Newcastle had it in the bag after Allan Saint-Maximin scored those two goals, but Brentford just wouldn't give up 😬. And that second half was like a rollercoaster ride - one minute they're down, next minute they're ahead 🎢! The bench at St James' Park must've been super nervous during that 75th-minute goal 😨. Newcastle's fans will be heartbroken after that loss... but still, it's great to see Brentford getting their first win at home in ages! 👏

I'm literally shaking my head 🤯... what a game! I was on the edge of my seat the whole time! 🏟️ Brentford totally deserved that win, they played so well! That Dango Ouattara goal was insane 💥, it's gonna be one for the highlight reels! 😂 The way Newcastle took the lead and then had it snatched away was just crazy 😱. I feel bad for the Magpies' fans, that must've been tough to watch 🤕. Still, kudos to Brentford for getting their first win at St James' Park in ages - they're on fire 🔥!

omg i just watched like the whole match on tv 😲 and i'm still trying to process what happened! they were up by two goals and then just... boom! Brentford came back so hard 🤯 i mean, who expects a comeback like that? and that last goal though!!! i was screaming at the screen thinking 'how did this happen?!' 🙈 anyway, congrats to Brentford on their first win since 1934 tho 🎉 it's crazy how one game can change everything in sports, right?
