Bucks County Playhouse Unveils "Women of Note" Series, Spotlighting Trailblazing Female Artists Across Genres and Eras
In a move to celebrate the work of female artists who defy categorization, Bucks County Playhouse is launching its new "Women of Note" series this spring. The inaugural performances will take place on the playhouse's mainstage in New Hope, with two critically acclaimed artists making their way onto the stage.
Meow Meow, a cabaret sensation known for her theatrical style and interpretations of classic Weimar-era repertoire and French chanson, will kick off the series on March 28. Her unique blend of song styles has taken her to prestigious venues such as Lincoln Center and the Sydney Opera House, and she recently released an album titled "Hotel Amour," featuring Thomas M. Lauderdale of Pink Martini.
Storm Large, a lead singer with Pink Martini and a seasoned performer in her own right, will follow Meow Meow on May 30. With a background that includes stints as a finalist on the CBS series "Rock Star: Supernova" and an appearance on "America's Got Talent," Storm Large has honed her craft both as a solo artist and with the band Le Bonheur.
Both artists share a passion for pushing boundaries and exploring multiple styles, making them perfect fits for the "Women of Note" series. With tickets starting at $44, audiences will have the opportunity to witness these talented performers on stage, bringing their unique energy and artistry to the Bucks County Playhouse's mainstage.
The performances are set to take place at Bucks County Playhouse, located at 70 S. Main St., New Hope, PA 18938. Tickets are available now through the theater's website or box office, providing a chance for fans to experience these trailblazing female artists in an intimate setting.
