Jeff Garcia said he's offered to help Sean Mannion and Jalen Hurts, but the Eagles say they're unaware of any overture from him

Eagles Quarterback Coach Sean Mannion's Transition Process Under Scrutiny, with Jeff Garcia Offering His Hand; Eagles Deny Any Contact from Former QB

Jeff Garcia, the legendary quarterback who led the Eagles to an NFC East title and a playoff win in 2004, has reached out to new Eagles OC Sean Mannion to offer his help during Mannion's transition into a first-time coordinator and play caller. However, his overtures have gone unreturned by team management.

According to Garcia, he had attempted to contact Nick Sirianni and Howie Roseman about joining the staff, but so far, no response has been received. Despite this, Garcia maintains that he wants to help Mannion develop the quarterback room and implement a more efficient offense.

Garcia, who coached in the NFL for just one season as an assistant with the Rams in 2015, believes that Mannion's background as a former quarterback will be beneficial for Jalen Hurts, the team's Super Bowl MVP. However, he also thinks that Hurts needs to work on his decision-making and getting the ball out of his hands faster.

"If he wants to see that room develop and take what the message is and apply it on the field than he's got to be more hands on," Garcia said. "He can't expect Mannion to be that guy."

Garcia also expressed concerns about Hurts' tendency to rely too much on his legs, which could disrupt the offense's consistency.

Meanwhile, the Eagles have reportedly planned to interview Greg Olson, a former coach who worked with Garcia and was with him in Detroit when he played for the Lions, for their QBs coach gig. While this may indicate that the team is looking outside for advice on Mannion's transition, it remains unclear whether they will ultimately consider Garcia's offer.

As for Garcia himself, while his phone calls to Sirianni and Roseman have gone unreturned, he seems unfazed by the situation. He has been vocal about the need for the Eagles' coaching staff to be more involved in developing their quarterback room and implementing a more efficient offense.

The full interview between Garcia and Mike Gill and Scott Grayson can be viewed online, providing further insight into Garcia's thoughts on Mannion's transition and Hurts' future with the team.

I'm low-key surprised that Jeff Garcia isn't getting any love from the Eagles right now πŸ€”πŸˆ. He's a total legend in the QB department and would've been a great asset to help Sean Mannion out πŸ‘. I mean, who wouldn't want some guidance from the guy who helped lead them to an NFC East title back in 2004? πŸ”₯ It's not like Garcia is asking for much - just to be more hands on with Jalen Hurts and get that room clicking 🀝.

The fact that Mannion isn't taking him up on his offer is pretty puzzling, imo. You'd think the team would want some extra help developing their QBs, especially since they're about to interview Greg Olson πŸ‘Š. But hey, maybe Garcia's just being too aggressive πŸ€‘ or something. I guess we'll just have to wait and see how things play out πŸ’ͺ. One thing's for sure - if anyone can fix Jalen Hurts' decision-making issues, it's the great Jeff Garcia πŸ€“!

πŸ€” Sean Mannion's got his work cut out for him 🏈πŸ’ͺ...as a QB coach, you gotta have more hands-on approach 😊. Jalen Hurts needs to work on his decision-making & get the ball out faster ⏱️. Can't expect Mannion to develop him overnight πŸŒƒ. Maybe Jeff Garcia's offer is genuine 🀝? Wouldn't be surprised if Eagles go outside for QBs coach 🚫.

omg i feel bad for sean mannion lol he needs all the help he can get! 🀣 jalen hurts is a great QB but yeah, decision-making can be a thing for him. gotta love jeff garcia tho, always coming through with advice and whatnot πŸ’ͺ he's like, totally invested in this team's success. i'm not surprised nick sirianni & howie roseman didn't respond to his calls, though πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ but still, it's cool that he's reaching out like that. gotta give him props for trying! 😊

im lowkey think sean mannion is gonna get roasted for not taking jeff garcia's advice πŸ€‘, i mean come on, garcia knows what he's talking about, been around the block a few times. mannion's gotta take some constructive criticism from someone who actually knows how to run an offense. and yeah, jalen hurts does need to work on getting that ball out faster...i'm not saying he's gonna be ben roethlisberger or anything πŸ˜‚ but a guy can dream right?

I think it's crazy that Jeff Garcia is still trying to offer his help to Sean Mannion after being ignored by the Eagles. I get why Garcia wants to help Mannion develop the quarterback room, but at this point, you'd think he'd be getting frustrated. Mannion's gotta want the advice and buy-in from Garcia himself, not just have it handed to him.

It's also a bit weird that the Eagles are planning to interview Greg Olson for the QBs coach gig while still having the door open for Garcia to join the staff. It feels like they're playing coy on their intentions, but I guess that's what happens when you've got a legendary QB trying to offer his expertise πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ.

πŸ€” i think its kinda cool that Jeff Garcia is tryna help out Sean Mannion, he was an amazing QB in his prime & i think his experience would be super valuable to the Eagles πŸ¦…πŸ“š mannions got a lot on his plate as a new OC & it would be awesome if someone like garcia could offer some guidance & support πŸ’ͺ Jalen Hurts is a beast but garcia's concerns about him relying too much on his legs are totally valid πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ maybe they can work together to find a better balance between running & passing 🀝

I'm shocked 😱 that Jeff Garcia is still willing to help out Sean Mannion but the Eagles are ignoring him πŸ™„. I mean, come on, Garcia knows a thing or two about QBs from his playing days... he's not just some old coach trying to get involved. And it seems like Jalen Hurts needs some extra guidance, you know? If Mannion can't handle the pressure of being the OC, then maybe they should bring in someone with more experience πŸ€”. But at least Garcia is keeping it real and telling it like it is... no sugarcoating here πŸ’―. It's gonna be interesting to see if the Eagles listen to him or just ignore his offer πŸ‘€.

I think it's awesome that Jeff Garcia is still so passionate about helping Sean Mannion and Jalen Hurts πŸ™Œ! It's clear he wants to see the QB room thrive and wants to share his experience from back in the day πŸ’‘. Even if they didn't get a response, Garcia's just happy to be able to offer his expertise and help out - that's what friends are for πŸ‘«. And I love how optimistic Jeff is about Jalen Hurts' growth as a QB - he really believes Mannion can bring out the best in him 🀞!

😊🏈 The Eagles are having some issues with their QB coach transition... πŸ€” Sean Mannion is a newbie but needs guidance, and Jeff Garcia wants to help πŸ™Œ. He thinks Jalen Hurts needs to work on his decision-making & passing game πŸ“‰. I feel for Mannion, he's in a tough spot ⚠️. It's good that Garcia is speaking up about the importance of the QB room πŸ’¬. Maybe the Eagles will consider him as an advisor? 🀞🏈

πŸ€” I mean, what's up with Sean Mannion? He's new to this play caller thingy and Jeff Garcia is trying to help him out... like a mentor or something 🀝. But nope, the Eagles are all "no contact" on that front 😐. It's kinda weird because Garcia has some legit points about Jalen Hurts needing to work on his decision-making and stuff πŸ’‘.

I get it, the Eagles want someone who knows what they're doing in the QB room πŸ€“. But if Sean Mannion is really struggling to develop it, wouldn't that be something you try to fix with a coach like Garcia? πŸ€” I mean, he's not trying to steal the show or anything... just offer some advice πŸ’¬.

Anyway, hope the Eagles figure out their QB issues soon πŸ‘€. We don't want Jalen Hurts getting too frustrated and leaving 🚫. That would be bad news for us fans 😬!

I'm really curious about Sean Mannion's transition process as the new Eagles OC πŸ€”... I mean, having Jeff Garcia offer his hand to help out is super generous of him! πŸ‘ But at the same time, it's a bit puzzling that Nick Sirianni and Howie Roseman haven't reached out to him yet. Maybe they just need some time to figure things out? πŸ•°οΈ I think what would be really helpful for Mannion and the team is if the coaching staff could get more involved in developing Jalen Hurts' skills as a quarterback, especially when it comes to decision-making and getting the ball out faster ⏱️. It's not easy being a QB coach, so I hope they can find someone who can provide some guidance and support πŸ€—.

πŸ€” i feel bad for sean mannion, the dude's got a tough road ahead of him as a new coordinator πŸš€. jeff garcia's offer to help out is super kind of him, but it's clear the eagles aren't looking for external advice right now πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ. still, it's good to see some experience and knowledge being thrown around in the quarterback room - gotta be better than just relying on the coaches' instincts alone πŸ’‘. as for jalen hurts, i think garcia's concerns about decision-making are spot on πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ. if sean mannion can help him work on that, it could really pay off for the team in the long run ⏰. just gotta hope they find some stability behind center before the season starts 😬

πŸ€” I gotta say, it's kinda weird that Garcia is offering his hand to Mannion without getting a response from the Eagles' management πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ. Like, what's up? You're trying to help out a fellow coach and former QB who just happens to have some experience with Jalen Hurts... but nobody's biting? πŸ™„

And I get it, Hurts needs work on his decision-making and releasing the ball faster ⏱️, but does Garcia need to be so harsh about it? Like, can't he just offer some constructive criticism without sounding like a total QB whisperer πŸ’β€β™‚οΈ?

Anyway, it's gonna be interesting to see what happens with Greg Olson's potential interview for the QBs coach gig πŸ“š. Maybe they'll get some fresh eyes on Mannion's transition and Hurts' development... or maybe they'll stick with what they got 😐. One thing's for sure, though: Jeff Garcia is definitely bringing his A-game to this whole situation πŸ’ͺ!

πŸ€” Sean Mannion is taking over as OC and Jeff Garcia wants to help out... but the Eagles are playing hard to get πŸ˜’. I mean, Garcia has been through the ranks too, he knows what it takes to develop a QB room πŸ“š. But maybe the team doesn't want outside input? That's fair, they do need someone who can trust their own instincts and not second-guess Mannion all the time πŸ’ͺ.

I'm curious about Greg Olson being considered for the QBs coach gig though... could he be that bridge between Mannion and Hurts? 🀝 The more I think about it, the more I think Garcia's offer is genuine and worth exploring. After all, we're talking about a guy who won an NFC East title with the Eagles back in 2004 πŸ’«.

What do you guys think? Should the Eagles be open to outside help, or do they trust Mannion to figure things out on his own? πŸ€“

Just think about it... 🀯 Sean Mannion is gonna be the OC for the Eagles and he's never coached before... 😲 It's like throwing a new toy in a playground without any rules... 🏈 Howie Roseman and Nick Sirianni should really talk to Jeff Garcia, I mean, who better to help out Mannion than a legend like him? 🀝 Garcia knows his stuff and can give some valuable advice... plus, it would be awesome to see Garcia back in the Eagles' organization! πŸ¦…

πŸ€” The whole thing seems kinda fishy to me... I mean, Jeff Garcia is trying to help out his old buddy Sean Mannion, but instead of getting a response from the Eagles, he's being shut down. And now they're planning to interview Greg Olson, which might be just a way to placate Garcia and make him go away? It feels like there's some kind of game going on here...

I think what really matters is whether or not Mannion is able to develop Hurts into a top-notch QB. If he can't get it done, then the Eagles are in trouble. And I'm not sure if Garcia's expertise would be enough to turn things around... But hey, at least we got some insight into their thoughts on the matter 😊

The Eagles are really struggling with finding the right coach for Jalen Hurts πŸ€”πŸˆ. I think it's great that Jeff Garcia is willing to help out Sean Mannion, especially since he comes from a similar background as Hurts. If Mannion can learn from Garcia and bring in some new ideas, maybe they'll be able to get the offense working more efficiently πŸ’‘.

But at the same time, I'm not surprised that the team hasn't responded to Garcia's calls yet πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ. They're probably trying to figure out who's going to be the right fit for the role and don't want to make any premature decisions. It would be great if they could get some outside perspective from someone like Greg Olson, though - he might be able to bring a fresh set of eyes to the quarterback room πŸ‘€.

It's also worth noting that Garcia is really passionate about this stuff, and I think that's what makes him such a great analyst πŸ“Ί. He genuinely wants to help Mannion and Hurts succeed, and isn't afraid to speak up when he thinks something needs to change πŸ’¬.

"When you want to make a good first impression, start with a good last impression" 😏. Think about it, if Sean Mannion is struggling as a QB coach and Jalen Hurts isn't getting the ball out fast enough, then Mannion might need some guidance from Garcia to turn things around πŸ”„
