omg u think its crazy thats like 1/3 more people dyin from nitazenes than they actually r lolol the UKs in a major mess rn its so frustrating cuz we cant even get the facts straight on drug deaths. its not just the ppl who use drugs who are affected, but also their fams & friends . we need 2 take action ASAP like, more funding 4 treatment programs & better drug testing measures . can't keep relying on incomplete data 2 guide our policies . the gov's all like "every death from drugs is a tragedy" but is that enuf?
this is so worrying synthetic opioids are literally killing people and we're still not getting the numbers right? like how can we even plan a solution if we don't know the real extent of the problem? i mean, nitazenes are like 500 times stronger than heroin... that's insane. and only 14% is detectable in toxicology tests? it's no wonder so many deaths are being missed.
i'm not surprised that critics are calling for more funding and better treatment programs. it's clear we need to step up our game to tackle this crisis. but at the same time, i do think the UK government is making some moves in the right direction... every death from drug misuse is a tragedy, indeed
it's also really interesting that scotland is facing its own drug deaths crisis. maybe it's time for us to look beyond just nitazenes and synthetic opioids as the cause of these deaths? are there other factors at play here? i don't know, but i do know we need more research and discussion on this topic ASAP
I just read about this super concerning news on synthetic opioids and I'm like totally shook . So if the UK was only counting 333 deaths from these things but it could be up to 222... that's a huge difference right? Like, what even is nitazene? sounds so sciency and scary . And they found out that only 14% of it is detectable in postmortem tests... how do they even test for this stuff? can we just get some more funding for treatment programs or something? it's like, we know these things are deadly, but what can we do about it?!
the numbers are crazy! like 17k people dying every year from drugs? we need more info on treatment programs & funding, but also strict laws against nitazenes production
OMG, think about it like the NCA said 333 deaths but now its like 222 thats a difference of like 111 lives and if we assume only 14% is detectable then like how many more couldve happened? its scary to think we might be underestimating this by up to a third what does that even mean for the actual numbers of people affected
