Eagles to hire Chris Kuper to be their new offensive line coach

Philadelphia Eagles Hire Experienced Guard Chris Kuper as New Offensive Line Coach, Replacing Departed Legend Jeff Stoutland

The Philadelphia Eagles have taken a familiar face from the Denver Broncos' coaching staff to bolster their offense. According to multiple reports, Chris Kuper is set to join the team as their new offensive line coach, marking a significant change after legendary coach Jeff Stoutland announced his departure last week.

Kuper brings an impressive resume to the table, having spent eight seasons with the Broncos from 2006 to 2013, including 90 appearances and 79 starts at guard. The former Denver native's coaching career took off in 2016 when he joined the Miami Dolphins as an offensive quality control coach. He later moved on to the Vikings, where his contract expired following the 2025 season.

During his time with the Vikings, Kuper faced a challenging situation, as the team struggled to protect their quarterbacks, particularly Sam Darnold, who was sacked nine times in the playoffs the previous year. The Vikings' inability to protect their line led to injuries and inconsistencies on the field. However, Kuper's experience will likely be valuable in addressing these issues for the Eagles.

Interestingly, there are some connections between Kuper's past roles and current Eagles staff members. Sean Mannion, the new offensive coordinator, had previously worked with Kuper during his time with the Vikings, while Vic Fangio, the defensive coordinator, employed Kuper as an assistant coach during his stint as the Broncos' head coach.

With Kuper on board, the Eagles will be looking to fortify their line and create more stability behind quarterback Jalen Hurts. The hiring marks a new chapter in the team's quest for success, but it remains to be seen how quickly Kuper will be able to implement his vision and turn around the unit.

Just read about Chris Kuper being hired as the Eagles' new O-line coach πŸ€”. I'm thinking that's a solid move on Philly's part - they need some stability behind Jalen Hurts, you know? πŸ’‘ The fact that Sean Mannion and Vic Fangio are familiar with Kuper from their past stints is awesome too! πŸ‘ What I don't love is the sudden change in coaching staff... it can take a while for new systems to gel. πŸ•°οΈ Hopefully, Kuper brings some of that Broncos magic to Philly's line play! πŸ’ͺ

omg i'm so hyped about this news!!! 🀩 chris kuper is def gonna bring some stability to that offense and help jalen hurts get comfy behind the line! 🀝 sean mannion worked with him before, that's a great connection! πŸ’ͺ vic fangio's also got his back, so i'm feeling good about this hire 😊

πŸ€” I'm kinda curious about this move... seems like they're bringing back someone who's had similar issues with protection on their previous teams πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ. Don't get me wrong, Chris Kuper does have a solid resume, but can he really fix the Eagles' O-line problems? πŸ’― I mean, Sean Mannion was already trying to revamp that unit... hope Kuper's expertise can help bridge the gap 😊.

πŸ€” just hope they bring some consistency on Darnold's part lol... 90+ starts under his belt should help stabilize that line though πŸ’ͺ gotta see how Sean Mannion & Vic Fangio work with Chris Kuper to get this offense firing πŸ”₯ might be a bit of an adjustment for Jalen Hurts but I'm all for it 😊

just heard about this πŸ€”... think its kinda weird that they're goin with someone who only has 1 year of actual coaching under their belt tho πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ i mean, dont get me wrong, kuper's got a solid resume and all but its not like he's the next jeff stoutland or anythin πŸ˜‚ ... i think sean mannion might be tryin to bring in some familiar faces to help with the transition, which is cool i guess 🀝

omg what do u think about this move? i mean i love jalen hurts but our o line has been super sketchy lately πŸ€”πŸˆ. i'm all for trying out new ideas and stuff, but does chris kuper really have the magic touch? πŸ˜‚ i heard he was a beast on the field back in denver tho! πŸ’ͺ how's sean mannion gonna fit in with this new guy tho? is it like a coaches coaching competition or something? 🀣🏈

Ugh πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ, another coaching change in Philly 🏈. I mean, I'm not complaining or anything... yet πŸ˜‚. But seriously, can't we just keep the staff intact for one season? It's always something with this team. Kuper's a solid coach and all, but what if he doesn't mesh with the QB room? Or what if it takes him a while to figure things out? πŸ€” I'm excited to see how it plays out, but let's just hope it's not another rebuild 😬. And can we please get some consistency on our depth chart? It's like they're trying to confuse us πŸ™„. Fingers crossed Kuper brings some stability to the O-line πŸ’ͺ!

πŸŒžπŸ’‘ I think this is awesome move by the Eagles! They're bringing in someone with loads of experience who actually knows what works on the field. Chris Kuper's got a great track record, especially with protecting quarterbacks which is a major priority for this team. Plus, he's already familiar with some of the existing staff members, so it's gotta be easier to integrate him into the system. Can't wait to see how quickly he shakes things up and gets the Eagles' offense firing on all cylinders! 😊

just hope they can get some consistency on that o-line 🀞... think kuper knows what he's doing from his time with denver and vikings πŸ’ͺ... would've liked to see sean mannion bring in someone more experienced from the start tho πŸ€”... fingers crossed for jalen hurts, doesn't want him getting sacked all the time 😩

just got word that Chris Kuper is joining the Eagles as O-line coach πŸ€”... think this is a solid move by HC Pederson, they've been struggling with protecting Jalen Hurts all season and Kuper's Broncos experience can't hurt... Sean Mannion working with him before at the Vikings gives me some confidence in how he'll fit in with the staff 🏈

OMG, this is gonna be super interesting! πŸ€” I'm glad they're bringing in someone with so much experience from a solid team like Denver... I mean, who better to fix our O-line issues than Chris Kuper? πŸ˜… He's got some serious game know-how and it'll be awesome to see how he shakes things up. Sean Mannion working with him before is already giving me hope for the future! πŸ’ͺ Plus, Vic Fangio's connection makes sense... let's get ready for a solid season ahead! 🏈

I'm not totally sold on this move yet πŸ€”. I mean, Chris Kuper is definitely got some experience under his belt, but can he bring that same magic to Philly? The Vikings were struggling with their O-line last year, so it'll be interesting to see if Kuper's solution works for the Eagles too. And what about Sean Mannion and Vic Fangio's input on the hiring process? Is it just a case of familiar faces getting hired because they've worked together before or is there something more to it? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

omg i just got back from watching a football game with my bros πŸˆπŸ‘ and i was thinking, have you guys ever noticed how important the offensive line is? like, it's kinda weird that people think about it so much... anyway i saw this guy Chris Kuper get hired by the philly eagles and i'm like "wait what's his deal?" πŸ˜‚ apparently he used to play guard for the broncos and then became a coach. sounds pretty cool! 🎯 does anyone know if sean mannion is gonna be good at his new job? πŸ€”

Yaaas πŸ’ͺ! I'm hyped about Chris Kuper joining the Eagles' coaching staff! They really know how to bring in talent from other teams - remember when they signed Nick Sirianni? πŸ˜„ Seriously though, Kuper's experience as an offensive quality control coach with the Dolphins and Vikings is a huge plus. He'll definitely be able to help Sean Mannion with their O-line woes. And it's awesome that he has connections with current staff members too! Maybe this will be the push they need to solidify their line and get Jalen Hurts some more time to make plays on the field 🏈. Bring on the 2025 season, I'm excited to see what these guys can do! πŸ‘

πŸ€” just gotta say i'm intrigued by this move πŸ”„ think kuper brings some much needed stability & experience to the eagles o-line πŸ‘ might help jalen hurts stay upright behind him πŸ˜‚ although it's still early days, i'm hoping kuper can make a real impact & get the eagles' offense firing on all cylinders πŸ”₯
