Swatch is introducing a new AI-powered tool called DADA, which allows users to design their own watch using prompts and AI-generated designs. Unlike its predecessor, Swatch x You, which only allowed users to customize existing watch designs with limited options, DADA gives users the ability to create entirely unique watches from scratch.
The process starts with logging into your Swatch account and prompting AI-DADA with your idea, which is then processed in under two minutes. The resulting design can be further customized by choosing indexes or selecting the color of its mechanism.
However, one major disappointment for fans of personalized MoonSwatches is that they will not be able to create their own unique timepieces using this tool just yet. Swatch's complex manufacturing process and distribution network make it difficult to produce bespoke, personalized watches on a large scale.
Despite this setback, Swatch CEO Nick Hayek Jr. is open to exploring customized MoonSwatches in the future. He notes that consumers have been vocal about their desire for more personalization options and will continue to listen to feedback.
For now, users can try out AI-DADA on Swatch.com starting November 21st in Switzerland, with a customized New Gent watch costing around $210. Although more countries will follow "soon," the tool is currently limited to Swiss customers only.
The introduction of AI-DADA marks an exciting development for Swatch and its fans, offering new possibilities for creative expression and customization.
