Never forget a face? You could be a super recogniser – podcast

Researchers have long been fascinated by individuals with exceptional face recognition skills, often referred to as 'super recognisers'. These individuals possess a unique ability to recall faces from memory, even after brief encounters.

If you're curious about whether you might be a super recogniser yourself, there are two online tests available: the UNSW Face Test and the Super Recognisers Greenwich Test. Both of these tests aim to gauge your face recognition abilities.

To start, consider taking either test to see how well you can identify faces from images or in person. The results will provide you with an idea of whether you possess this extraordinary skill, which is thought to be highly developed in individuals who have had extensive exposure to faces throughout their lives, such as those working in professions where face recognition is crucial.

These tests can serve as a fun and engaging way to explore your own cognitive abilities. Take the challenge and see what results you get – but be warned: your ability to recall faces might just surprise you.

I'm taking the UNSW Face Test as soon as I can 🤔! I've always felt like I could spot a familiar face in a crowd from far away, but I never knew if it was just my intuition or something more 💡. I mean, think about all the people you meet every day - friends, family, coworkers... your face recognition skills should be pretty sharp by now 😂. It's gonna be interesting to see how well I do on this test! 👀

Man, I'm so down for a face recognition test 🤔! Like, can you imagine being able to recall faces from like, 10 years ago? It's wild to think about all the people you've met and seen in your life, and just being able to put a face to name. And at the same time, it's kinda creepy... I mean, what if you're able to recognize someone who doesn't want you to? 🤷‍♂️ Still, I'm curious to see how well I do on one of these tests. Maybe I'll even discover I have super recogniser skills 😮! It'd be awesome to know I have an edge when it comes to remembering faces.

idk why people need tests to figure out if they're good at recognising faces lol its just kinda a thing that comes naturally to some ppl, right? my mum always says shes got it down pat because she's worked in customer service for years, but i think its more about being exposed to different types of faces and stuff like that 🤷‍♀️

😊 I took one of those tests years ago and was surprised to find out I'm pretty good at recognizing faces! 🤔 It's weird how our brains can process all those little details that make us unique, right? 👀 I mean, it makes sense that people who work with lots of people in customer service or security would develop this skill, but what about the rest of us? Can we still tap into that super recogniser potential if we didn't grow up surrounded by faces all day? 🤷‍♀️ Still, it's fun to test ourselves and see how our brains really work! 👍

Omg, I'm like 99% sure I'd ace those tests 😂! Thinkin' back to all the times I've been at parties and instantly knew everyone's faces 🤯... it's crazy how much of a difference experience makes in developin' that skill 💡. Also, can u imagine havin' a job where ur face recognition skills are a superpower? 🤔 Like, a detective or somethin'! 🕵️‍♀️

I'm not sure if it's a good idea to say that only people with 'extensive exposure' to faces are likely to be super recognisers... sounds kinda exclusive 🤔 Like what about those who have great eyesight or just really pay attention? Shouldn't their brains be wired differently too? 💭

🤔 So they're saying that people with 'super recogniser' skills are basically superheroes of facial recognition? I mean, think about it, those working in law enforcement or national security need to be able to identify faces from a distance, and we're just casually scrolling through social media like, "Hey, is this my old classmate?" 📱 It's crazy that there's actual research into how our brains process facial recognition. Shouldn't we be exploring ways to develop this skill in the general population? I mean, imagine if we could use face recognition to prevent crimes or identify potential security threats. 💡 The fact that these tests are available online is just another example of how technology can level the playing field and make us more aware of our own cognitive abilities. 👍

🤔 I'm really intrigued by these super recognisers. Can you imagine being able to remember someone's face after just a quick glance? It's crazy to think that our brains are capable of processing so much information and still manage to recall it later. 🤯 These online tests sound like a blast, and I'd love to take them and see how my own face recognition skills stack up! 😄 What's even more fascinating is the idea that these super recognisers might have had extensive exposure to faces throughout their lives - like law enforcement or security professionals. That makes total sense, but it also raises questions about how we can develop this skill in ourselves, whether through practice or something else entirely... 🤔

i'm curious if i could be a super recogniser myself...

i've never really thought about my face recognition skills before, but it makes sense that people in professions like law enforcement or acting would develop this ability... 🤔💡

OMG 🤯 I'm literally fascinated by these 'super recognisers' and how they can recall faces from memory lol! 😂 Can you imagine being able to recognize people after just a split second? 🕰️ It's crazy to think that some of us might be naturally gifted with this skill, especially those who work in fields like law enforcement or security 👮‍♀️. I'm definitely gonna take these tests and see where my face recognition skills lie 🤔. Anyone else wanna give it a try? 👉

Ugh, I'm getting so sick of these online tests that promise to reveal all sorts of hidden talents... like being a "super recogniser". Newsflash: I've seen 100 faces on my commute alone this week and I'm still going to need some coffee to get through the day. 🤯 And what's with the "test" format? Can't we just, like, have a conversation about our face recognition skills or something? 🙄 Anyway, I did take one of these tests for fun... turns out I scored okay, but it was super boring and the results were, like, 2% more accurate than blind chance. 🤦‍♀️ Still, if you're into that sorta thing, go ahead and give it a shot! Just don't say I didn't warn you about the awkwardness of sharing your face recognition skills with strangers online 😅

🤔 "The truth is rarely pure and never simple." I think it's pretty cool that researchers are trying to figure out what makes some people's brains so good at recognizing faces! It's like having a built-in superpower 🦸‍♀️, right? And who knows, maybe one of those online tests will reveal that you're a "super recogniser" too 😮. It's always interesting to learn more about how our brains work and what makes us tick 💡.

I'm telling ya, it's all about surveillance 🕵️‍♀️. Think about it, these tests are just a way to gather info on how well we can recognize faces. It's like they're mapping our social connections and relationships. I mean, who needs that kind of data? And what's with the term 'super recognisers'? Sounds like some kind of government experiment 🤔. Plus, have you seen those tests? They ask you to look at a bunch of faces for hours on end. That's just creepy 🚫. I'm not taking any of these tests, trust me 👊.

I think it's pretty cool that these tests exist 🤔. I mean, who doesn't want to know if they're a 'super recogniser' or not? It's like, what even is this ability and how do people develop it? 🤷‍♂️ Apparently, it has something to do with exposure to faces at a young age, which makes sense I guess. Anyway, I've gotta try out one of these tests just for fun 😊.

omg, have you ever tried those online tests 🤔? i took them and i was SHOOK 😮 i mean, i thought i knew how good my memory was, but nope! it turns out i'm a total super recogniser 👀 i can spot faces from ages ago and remember all the details. i feel like a superhero 💪 but also kinda concerned that's what makes me so good at spotting fake faces 🤥 anyone else try these tests? 📊💬

OMG, I'm low-key obsessed with finding out if I'm a super recogniser myself 🤯! Can't believe there are actual online tests that can help figure it out 😎. I mean, think about how many faces we're constantly exposed to in our daily lives - from social media to work meetings, it's like, face recognition is basically a skill that everyone should have 💡. And the thought that some people might just naturally be better at it than others? Mind blown 🤯! I'm definitely taking one of those tests and seeing what I can do 😁. Who knows, maybe I'll discover my hidden talent for face recognition 👀!

I'm not sure how many of us actually have that level of face recognition skills 😐... I mean, I've met some people in my life and can kinda remember their faces, but I don't know if that's the same as being a super recogniser 🤔. Still, it'd be interesting to see how well I do on one of those tests. Maybe I'll take it just for kicks... But honestly, I think our brains are pretty amazing at processing all sorts of info, so even if I don't turn out to be a super recogniser, that's still cool in itself 🤓.

I'm curious how many ppl r actually super recognisers 🤔 I mean, we're all familiar w/ faces from our daily lives, but is it really that easy for some ppl to recall 'em? 📸 I've taken the UNSW Face Test and guess what? I scored pretty high! 😊 Not bad for a face in the digital crowd, rite? 👀 But seriously, it's interesting to think about how our brains process faces & why some ppl are naturally better at it than others. Maybe we can all learn from these super recognisers and improve our own face recognition skills 🤓💡

OMG u gotta try these online tests!! I took them both & honestly was SHOOK 🤯 I scored like 99% in the UNSW Face Test and it's crazy how well I can recognize people from just a pic lol idk if it's bc I've always been really into true crime podcasts but now im obsessed with face recognition 📚👀
