Ann-Katrin Berger still delivering highlight-reel saves — and helping Gotham FC feel ‘secure’

Ann-Katrin Berger's Body Aches But Her Saves Don't - Yet to Beat Fever Pitch

San Jose, California - Ann-Katrin Berger, the 35-year-old goalkeeper for Gotham FC, jokes that her body aches after grueling season, but once she steps onto the pitch, it all fades away. The aches and pains disappear as she starts to play, displaying the same level of determination that has made her one of the best goalkeepers in the league.

Berger attributes her readiness for each match to sheer mental toughness. “Normally, [it] just switches off,” she told The Post. “There’s a readiness, and it’s like 100 percent. And I’m just telling myself there’s no tiredness, no complaints of anything.” Berger's unwavering confidence in herself and her abilities have made her one of the most reliable goalkeepers in the league.

Her teammates can't help but sing her praises. “Every time you think you’ve seen the best save ever, she has one at training or one at a game that really just [tops the previous one],” teammate Mandy Freeman said. Berger is always striving to be better and is hard on herself, which drives her to work harder every day.

Berger does not keep track of her personal best saves but her teammates have plenty of stories about their favorite saves made by her. In last weekend's semifinals win against the Pride, Berger blocked Oihane Hernández's header in a crucial moment that saved the game for Gotham FC. Freeman was particularly relieved after her foul led to the free kick that set up Hernández.

Freeman also mentioned a more recent save made by Berger on Current forward Ally Sentnor's strike in the quarterfinals. “Ally hit an absolute banger,” Sonnett said. “I’m not sure if Ann saw it the whole way… I’m really impressed with her [and] her reaction.” Even in a tough match against France, Berger's incredible full-arm extension saved a potential own goal by her teammate.

Berger is undoubtedly Gotham FC’s best insurance policy against their imposing Washington attack. If they come out victorious on Saturday, Berger's fingerprints will be all over it. Her unyielding dedication to her craft and unwavering confidence have made her the go-to goalkeeper for Gotham FC. Despite being 35 years old, Berger still plays like she's in her prime – delivering highlight-reel saves and making life easier for her teammates.

Berger is also celebrated by her fans and teammates with printed out memes, tweets and silly photos of other players hanging in their "bat cave" facility at the Gotham FC headquarters.

While no one can deny Berger's exceptional skills on the field, there are still moments when her body aches from the relentless training regimen. Nevertheless, these minor pains do not hinder Berger's performance on the pitch. As she prepares to face off against Washington Spirit this Saturday, it will be intriguing to see if Berger’s determination and unwavering dedication can lead Gotham FC to victory.

man, ann-katrin berger is literally the ultimate athlete 🤯 she's still saving lives (or in this case, goals) at 35 like it's nobody's business 💪 her teammates are right, she's on another level and it's not just because of her sick saves (although those don't hurt 😂). seriously though, mental toughness is key and ann-katrin has that in spades. I'm curious to see how she'll perform against washington spirit this saturday, but one thing's for sure - the memes are already being made 🤣

I think Ann-Katrin Berger is actually pretty cool 😎 I mean, 35 and still playing like a pro? That's amazing! 🤯 Her mental toughness is really inspiring, you know? She just tunes out the pain and gets in the zone 💪 And her teammates are all about her, which says a lot. 🙌 I love how they're always hyping each other up, it's such a positive vibe 🌈 The memes and tweets are just the cherry on top 🤣 It'll be interesting to see if she can lead Gotham FC to victory this weekend ⚽

Berger is defo the real MVP of Gotham FC 🤩 her mental toughness and confidence are everything in that sport - teams need goalkeepers who can stay calm under pressure and trust themselves, and Ann-Katrin's got it down pat 💪 meanwhile, it's kinda sad she's only getting recognition for her saves because let's be honest, being a goalkeeper is super underrated 🤷‍♀️

idk why ppl say she's "one of the best" goalkeepers in the league... has she even beaten fever pitch? that title is always up for grabs. plus, 35 and still playing like a pro? that's cute 🤷‍♀️

I'm curious how much mental toughness really plays a role in sports 🤔. I mean, we've all heard about the importance of physical training, but it's interesting to see how Ann-Katrin Berger attributes her readiness for each match to her mental state 💪. Her teammates' admiration for her is pretty inspiring - she always seems to be one step ahead on the pitch 😄.

But what really sets her apart is her willingness to push herself harder every day 🏋️‍♀️. It's not easy being 35 and still performing at a high level, especially in a demanding sport like soccer ⚽️. I wonder if she ever gets tired of being scrutinized as the team's best goalkeeper or if it drives her even more to perform well 💬.

One thing for sure is that fans love her - those printed out memes and silly photos are pretty funny 😂. And who can deny a highlight-reel save every now and then? 💥

I'm so down for Ann-Katrin Berger - that woman is a goalkeeping machine 💪🏽! I mean, 35 years old and still playing like she's in her prime? That's some next-level stuff right there 🤩. And can we talk about those saves?! She's got this mental toughness thing down pat 😎. I love how she just tunes out the pain when she gets on the pitch - it's like she's saying, "You know what? I've got this." 💥

And her teammates are totally singing her praises 🙌. It's great to see that kind of camaraderie and respect among players. Mandy Freeman's stories about Berger's saves are giving me all the feels 😍. That full-arm extension save against France? Iconic 🔥.

Now, I do feel a little bad for Ann-Katrin - those training regimens can be tough on the body 🤕. But at least she knows how to power through it 💪. And honestly, it's all worth it if it means another win for Gotham FC 🏆.

I'm super hyped for this Saturday's game against Washington Spirit 🎉. Can't wait to see what Berger has in store for them!

omg I'm living for Ann-Katrin Berger right now she's literally my ultimate inspiration as a gamer lol but seriously she's proof that age is just a number 💁‍♀️ especially when you're crushing it like she is on the pitch! 35 and still making highlight-reel saves? that's the GOAT in my book 🤩 I need to get some of those memes for my own gaming setup btw what's with the "bat cave" tho? sounds so cool! 💥

man I'm loving ann-katrin berger's vibes right now 🤩🏀 her confidence on the pitch is honestly inspiring, you know? like she's not even worried about her body aching after training - it's all about getting that W 💪👍 and from what i've seen, she always delivers. but at the same time, it's kinda impressive how much physical toll it takes on her body, like she has to be so mentally tough just to get through games without feeling anything 🤕 still, can't deny her skills - that full-arm extension save against france was insane! 🙌 fingers crossed for gotham fc this saturday 🤞

I'm lovin' Ann-Katrin Berger's mental toughness 🤩🏒️ she's like a superhero on the pitch! Her confidence in herself is so inspiring, and it's no wonder her teammates love playing with her 💕. She's always pushing herself to be better, even when she's feelin' beat up from all that trainin' 😓. And those saves? Forget about it! 🙌🏆 I'm hyped to see her take on the Washington Spirit this Sat 🎉💪

I think what sets Ann-Katrin Berger apart from other goalkeepers is her mental approach to the game 🤔. She's got this aura of confidence around her that makes her teammates want to be better just by watching her play 😊. It's not just about physical talent, it's about having the right mindset and staying focused under pressure. I mean, can you imagine being on the pitch with your body aching from training, but still managing to make game-changing saves? 🤯 That's what Berger does, and it's truly inspiring.

I love how her teammates celebrate her wins with memes and silly photos – it shows that she's got a real connection with them off the pitch too 👫. And you're right, she's still one of the best in the league at 35, which is just incredible 🙌. What I'd like to see now is how she handles the pressure of leading her team to victory against Washington Spirit on Saturday ⚽️. Will she be able to channel that mental toughness and determination into a win? Only time will tell! 💪

ann-katrin berger is literally a superhero 🤖💥, i mean have you seen her saves? they're like wow! 😲 her mental toughness is insane, she just switches off when she's on the pitch 🎯 and her teammates are all obsessed with her 💕. but what's even crazier is that she doesn't care about keeping track of her personal best saves 🤣, she's all about being better every day 💪. can't wait to see if she leads gotham fc to victory this saturday ⚽️!

🤯 I'm low-key in awe of Ann-Katrin Berger's mental toughness! She literally switches off the pain & focuses on the game like a ninja 🦸‍♀️ - no wonder her teammates are super grateful for her! 💖 35 and still playing like she's 25, that's some next level dedication 💪. And can we talk about how her teammates have got her back with those cute memes & silly photos? 😂 She's not only an amazing goalie but also a total rockstar 🤩

I think Ann-Katrin Berger is pretty much unstoppable on the field 💪🔥, but her teammates have been pretty quiet about how much of a workload she's been putting on herself with all that training 🤯. I mean, it's great that she's confident in herself and stuff, but 100% focus all the time might be a bit unrealistic? 😊 Maybe it's just me, but if I was getting 35 years old and still playing like a pro, my body would start to complain too 🙄! Still, gotta respect her dedication 💯. Can't wait to see how she does on Saturday 👀

🤩💪 I think Ann-Katrin Berger is like a superhero 🦸‍♀️ out there on the pitch! 😍 Her confidence and mental toughness are what set her apart from other goalkeepers 👏. And it's awesome that her teammates and fans are so supportive of her, even going to the extent of making funny memes and silly photos 😂.

🤝 It's clear that Berger is a team player 🤝, always striving to be better and hard on herself 💪. Her dedication to her craft is inspiring, especially at 35 years old when most people would be slowing down 😎. But not Berger! She's still delivering highlight-reel saves and making life easier for her teammates 💥.

👊 The fact that she can switch off from her body aches on the pitch is just incredible 🤯. It's like she has this mental shield 🔒 that protects her from fatigue and distractions. And it's awesome to see her team rallying behind her, singing her praises and celebrating her wins 🎉.

Can't wait to see what happens when Gotham FC takes on Washington Spirit on Saturday 📆! Will Berger lead them to victory? 🤔 Only time will tell, but one thing's for sure - she'll give it her all 💖.

She's literally the ultimate goal keeper 😍💪 I love how mentally tough she is! Her confidence in herself is super inspiring 🙌 And those saves she makes? 🔥 Mind-blowing! 🤯 I'm not surprised her teammates have so much respect for her, she's clearly got game 💁‍♀️ Ann-Katrin Berger is a total rockstar! ⭐

You know I'm a huge fan of Ann-Katrin Berger! 😍 Her mental toughness is seriously inspiring. I mean, have you seen her save that header in the semifinals? 💥 It's like she has a sixth sense or something! My friend and I were talking about it last night and we were both like "how did she even do that?" 🤯 Anyway, what I love most about Berger is that she's always striving to be better. She's not satisfied with just being good, she wants to be the best. And you can see it in her reactions on the field, so calm and focused. It's really refreshing to see a player who is so dedicated to their craft. 🙌

she's literally an inspiration on and off the field 🤩 her mental toughness is insane, i mean, who else can just turn off their body aches and still perform at that level? 💪 anyway, it's so cool how she's got the support of her teammates and fans – those memes in the "bat cave" are everything 😂 and honestly, even with all the training, it's clear she's not done yet... 35 and still delivering highlight-reel saves 🙌

I'm so hyped for Ann-Katrin Berger right now! 🤩 She's literally a superhero on the pitch! Her mental toughness is insane - I mean, 100% ready to go every time? That's dedication, fam! 💯 And her teammates are giving her major props - that saves game after game? Top-notch stuff. The fact that she doesn't keep track of personal bests just shows how humble and focused she is on the game.

What I love most about Berger is that she's not afraid to show her human side, though - like when she jokes about aching all the time. It makes us fans relate to her even more! 🤗 The memes and silly photos of other players hanging in their "bat cave" are just the icing on the cake - we need more of that positivity and team spirit!

Gotham FC's got it going on with Berger as their goalkeeper, no question about it. 💪 Can't wait to see her in action against Washington Spirit this Saturday! Fingers crossed for a win! 🤞

I'm still not convinced about all this tech stuff making our lives easier. I mean, 35 years old and still playing like a pro? That's just crazy! What's next, people playing football at 50?! It's amazing how far Berger has come, but have you seen the state of their "bat cave"? A whole room dedicated to memes and silly photos? Sounds like a waste of space to me 🤣. And don't even get me started on these "highlights-reel saves". Just because it looks impressive on TV doesn't mean it's actually making the game better 💔. I'll stick to my old-school ways, thank you very much 😒.
