Hytale will only cost $20 because it isn't good yet, its developer says

Hypixel Studios has announced that its highly anticipated game Hytale will be relaunched in early access with a modest price tag of $20. The decision is a deliberate attempt by the developer to acknowledge the game's unfinished state and lack of polish.

According to co-founder Simon Collins-Laflamme, pricing the game at $20 was an "aggressive low" move intended to convey that Hytale isn't ready for prime time just yet. The game, which can be described as a more action-packed take on Minecraft, has been in development for over four years and is currently running on an outdated build.

Collins-Laflamme took a personal risk by reacquiring the rights to the game from Riot Games, a move that was made possible after the studio decided to sunset its publishing label Riot Forge. This new partnership allows Hypixel Studios to focus on getting Hytale back in shape and attracting a growing team of 50 talented individuals.

The game's current state is evident in recent footage shared by the developer, which showcases a rough-around-the-edges experience that is still far from polished. The low price point serves as a warning to potential customers that they're getting a product that isn't quite ready for mass consumption.

In addition to the $20 standard edition, Hypixel will also offer more expensive tiers โ€“ $35 "Supporter" and $70 "Cursebreaker" โ€“ which come with additional in-game cosmetics. These higher-end options seem to be an attempt to entice players who want a more premium experience but are willing to pay for it.

Overall, Hytale's $20 price tag is seen as a bold move by Hypixel Studios, aiming to gauge interest and gather feedback from the community before committing to further development and investment. The company's gamble will be closely watched in the coming weeks and months, as players weigh the pros and cons of playing an unfinished game.

Yooo u guys think 20 bucks is low?? I mean, its not like hes askin for ur soul or somethin lol. Its a risk but its a good one. At least hes bein upfront about it. The dude hasnt even had time to make the game shiny yet, so why charge top dollar? It's all about testin the waters & seein what ppl will tolerate. I got nothin against him, im just sayin if ur gonna play a rough draft, u should know what u gettin yself

I gotta say, $20 for Hytale is a super low price point ๐Ÿคฏ! I mean, I get what Hypixel Studios is trying to do, they're basically saying "Hey, we know our game ain't perfect yet" ๐Ÿ˜…. And honestly, it's kinda refreshing that they're being upfront about it. It's like they're putting their money where their mouth is, you feel? ๐Ÿค‘

I'm intrigued by the idea of playing an unfinished game, and I think it'll be super interesting to see how players react. Will people be willing to take a chance on something that's still in its early stages? Only time will tell, but one thing's for sure - this is definitely going to get the gaming community talking ๐Ÿ“ข! #GamingNews #HytaleRelaunch

๐Ÿค” I'm low-key hyped for Hytale but also kinda disappointed that it's not ready yet ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ. $20 is a steal if you ask me, I'd pay that price just to see what they're working on ๐ŸŽฎ. The fact that Collins-Laflame took back the rights from Riot Games and is re-investing in the game is a big thumbs up for him ๐Ÿ’ฏ. It's all about gathering feedback and improving the game before making any major changes, right? ๐Ÿ‘€

omg i'm so hyped for hytale lol its been ages since we've seen any updates on it ๐Ÿคฏ i gotta say tho 20 bucks is a crazy low price point even if its not fully finished idk why they didnt just wait another year or two like everyone else who tries to release an unfinished game but i guess that's the bold move hes goin for lol its like he's sayin "hey we know this isnt ready yet but hey wanna take a chance on us?" which is kinda refreshing honestly

omg 20 bucks for a game that's basically a work in progress is kinda crazy lol i think it's a genius move by hypixel tho they're being super transparent about the game's state and not trying to sugarcoat it, which is awesome ๐Ÿคž the lower price point will probably bring in more casual players who just wanna try it out, and the higher tiers will give those who are all in on the game a chance to splurge ๐Ÿ’ธ

I'm not sure why devs would voluntarily slap a $20 price tag on their game when they can't even promise it'll work tomorrow ๐Ÿค‘. It's like putting out a 'for sale by owner' sign on your house with a big ol' warning label saying 'be careful, not fixed yet!' ๐Ÿ˜…. Maybe they're trying to drum up some buzz and gauge interest from the community, but at what cost? Are players really willing to take that risk just to be one of the first ones to try something that's still got its teeth knocked out? ๐Ÿค” I think it's a pretty questionable strategy...

I think $20 is a pretty low price for a game that's still in early access ๐Ÿค‘. I mean, it's like they're saying "Hey, we know this isn't done yet, but come on over and help us out!" And yeah, the footage shared by them shows some pretty rough edges ๐Ÿคฏ. But at the same time, I feel bad for people who are gonna pay that price and be all like "this is not what I paid for!" ๐Ÿ˜ฉ.

And those extra tiers... man, that's just gonna make it even more confusing ๐Ÿค‘. Like, if you buy the $20 version, do you still need to buy a higher tier to get the fancy stuff? ๐Ÿค”. I dunno, maybe it's just me, but I'd rather see them focus on getting the game right before adding all these bells and whistles ๐Ÿ””.

But hey, at least they're being upfront about the fact that Hytale isn't done yet ๐Ÿ’ฏ. And you gotta give 'em props for taking a risk by reacquiring those rights from Riot Games ๐Ÿ’ช. Fingers crossed it pays off for them ๐Ÿคž

omg u guys ๐Ÿคฏ i think its crazy that hytale is getting a $20 relaunch lol like they're basically saying its not good enough for the masses yet ๐Ÿ˜‚ but at the same time its kinda cool that they're being transparent about it and taking steps to improve it. the fact that they're offering different tiers with more expensive cosmetics is def a try to get players who want that extra premium experience ๐Ÿ’ธ i dunno if its a good or bad move tho idk, but ill be keeping an eye on it ๐Ÿค”

idk about this decision lol ๐Ÿค” i mean hytale has been in dev for like 4+ years already so u would think theydve have it more together by now... but i guess its better to be upfront about it & make ppl aware that its not perfect? ๐Ÿ’ก the $20 price point is def an interesting move, might attract some ppl who wanna try it out & give feedback, but at the same time its a risk lol. what do u guys think tho? should we pay for somethin thats still in alpha or no? ๐Ÿค‘

๐Ÿค” I'm kinda loving this move by Hypixel Studios - giving Hytale a price tag that shows they're not trying to sugarcoat their current state ๐Ÿ“‰ It's like they're saying "hey, we know this isn't perfect, but we wanna get your feedback and see what you think" ๐Ÿ’ฌ And let's be real, $20 is still pretty affordable for a game that's supposed to be in early access anyway ๐Ÿ˜Š It's almost like they're taking a risk by making it so accessible, hoping people will help shape the game into something awesome ๐Ÿคž

I'm so hyped about Hytale being relaunched for $20 ๐Ÿคฏ! I think it's super cool that Hypixel Studios is being honest about the game's state and isn't trying to sugarcoat it. I mean, who wants a polished experience when you can play a game that's still rough around the edges? ๐Ÿ’ฅ It's like they're saying, "Hey guys, we know this isn't perfect yet, but we want your feedback and we want to get this right!" ๐Ÿค— I'm already on board with supporting them from day one. The $20 price point is a total steal in my opinion! Can't wait to dive in and start giving them feedback and helping shape the game into something amazing ๐Ÿ˜Š

๐Ÿค” I'm not sure if $20 is a good idea... I mean, I know they're trying to give back to the community or something, but I've been waiting for like 4 years for this game and I just wanna play it already! ๐Ÿšซ The $35 and $70 tiers are kinda cool tho, at least that way you know what you're getting. But still, I don't wanna pay full price if the game's not even close to being done yet. It's like they're trying to test our patience or something... ๐Ÿ’”

$20 for a game that's still got all the polish of a middle schooler's art project ๐Ÿคฃ. Good luck with that, Hypixel... I mean, I'm sure it'll be a wild ride watching people drop their money on a rough-around-the-edges experience ๐Ÿ˜‚. On the bright side, if they're aiming to gather feedback from the community, maybe someone will come along and tell them how bad it is ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ.

I'm not sure about this one ๐Ÿค”... hypixel is known for making awesome games like bedwars and craft beef ๐Ÿด but hytale seems like a risk ๐ŸŽฏ

imagine paying 20 bucks for a game that's still got bugs and glitches ๐Ÿœ๐Ÿ’ป it's like buying a half-built house ๐Ÿ ๐Ÿšง and hoping the owner finishes the interior design ๐Ÿ’ก

that being said, i love that hypixel is taking a chance on hytale and giving players a chance to shape the game themselves ๐Ÿค... maybe this will be a great way for them to build a community around the game ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ’ฌ

anyway, if you're looking for a new game to play, i'd say wait and see how things go before dropping 20 bucks ๐Ÿ’ธ๐Ÿ‘€

๐Ÿค” the 20 buck price tag is def a bold move lol... like if i were to buy it i'd wanna make sure its done right first ๐Ÿค‘ anyway, kinda cool that hypixel is being transparent about its state and not trying to sell us a shiny new experience yet ๐Ÿ‘

๐Ÿค” I'm low-key hyped about Hytale's early access relaunch! $20 is a crazy low price point, especially considering it's not a finished game ๐Ÿค‘ But honestly, I think it's genius marketing move by Hypixel Studios. They're being super transparent about the game's state and giving players a chance to get in on the ground floor ๐Ÿ‘Š It's like they're saying "Hey, we know this isn't perfect yet, but we want your feedback!" ๐Ÿ˜Š And those tiered pricing options? Genius! If you wanna play a game that's still being polished, it'll cost you... and if you don't mind a rougher experience, you can get in for the low low price of $20 ๐Ÿ’ธ I'm definitely going to be keeping an eye on this one ๐Ÿ‘€

๐Ÿค” I think its a crazy move but kinda genius lol Hytale's been out for like 4 years now and its still not even close to being finished? $20 seems low for what we get, idk about the higher tiers tho - 35 or 70 feels like a bit of a stretch... but hey at least they're willing to take the risk and try something new ๐Ÿค‘

I feel like Hytale is trying to do the right thing by being upfront about its state ๐Ÿค”. I mean, $20 is a pretty cheap price tag for what they're offering - a rough-around-the-edges Minecraft clone ๐ŸŽฎ. It's not going to win any awards for polish or stability just yet ๐Ÿ’ป.

But you know what? I think that's kind of refreshing in this day and age where games are always marketed as finished products ๐Ÿ“ˆ. It's like they're saying, "Hey, we're not done yet! We need your help to make it better!" ๐Ÿ‘

I'm curious to see how people will respond to this move - will they be excited about the prospect of playing an unfinished game? Or will they wait for it to get its act together before dipping in ๐Ÿ’ธ? Either way, I think Hypixel Studios is taking a big risk by pricing it so low ๐Ÿค‘.

omg what do u think about hytale?? ๐Ÿค” i mean its literally been 4 years in dev lol and theyre just now pricing it at $20 like wut r they tryna say? that its not ready yet? but at the same time, $20 is kinda cheap for a game thats supposed to be similar to minecraft. idk if im excited or confused about this whole thing tbh...
