Donald Glover, the Grammy-winning musician known for his work as Childish Gambino, revealed on Saturday night that he had suffered a stroke last year, which forced him to cancel his tour. At Tyler, the Creator's Camp Flog Gnaw festival in Los Angeles, Glover shared the information with the audience, saying that after experiencing severe headaches in Louisiana and performing a show despite feeling unwell, he went to the hospital in Houston where doctors informed him of the stroke.
Glover described the ordeal as an "ailment" when it happened but said that his current understanding is more accurate. He acknowledged that canceling the tour was devastating for him, especially because he had felt like letting everyone down and still hadn't been able to visit Ireland. His team found a hole in his heart during surgery and he required two operations.
Glover drew attention from the audience with his words of gratitude, saying "They say everybody has two lives, and the second life starts when you realize you have one." He expressed that the life he has lived with his fans has been a blessing.
