How generative AI in Arc Raiders started a scrap over the gaming industry's future

AI generated voices are getting way too real lol I mean, I get that smaller devs can do more with less resources, but is it worth sacrificing human touch? I've played some games where the AI chat sounds so natural it freaks me out! For example, in The Last of Us Part II, the infected humans' whispers give me chills every time It's like, okay, cool innovation, but can't we just keep some of that human creativity? I'm all about community and comfort too, and sometimes it feels like AI generated worlds are missing that special something. I'd rather have a game world like Cyrodiil than some massive open-world with generic AI characters

I'm literally freaking out over this Arc Raiders thing I mean, I get what the critics are saying about AI-generated voices being too much but at the same time... can you imagine playing a game with all these sick new features that just dropped because of some crazy AI tech? Like, isn't that what gaming is all about? Progression?! My fave game devs (EA) know exactly what they're doing, using those internal tools to future-proof their games. Can you blame them for wanting to stay ahead of the curve? Not sure what's more annoying - the debate itself or that some ppl think AI will replace us entirely Just can't wait to see what Arc Raiders has in store!

I think people are getting way too worked up over this generative AI thing... I mean, come on, its just tech . Arc Raiders is still gonna be played by thousands of people who don't care about the voices being generated or not, right? And to all these devs out there stressing about job security, chill dude, technology's always changing - it's how you adapt that matters . I've played some crazy immersive games like No Man's Sky and it was awesome because I loved exploring this vast universe . Sometimes I wish I could just step into a game world and forget about the real one for a bit... the community aspect is huge for me, too - sharing laughs and losses with fellow gamers is what gaming's all about .
