Jacob Zuma's daughter accused of tricking men into fighting for Russia in Ukraine

Zuma Daughter Accused of Recruiting Men to Fight in Ukraine War

A daughter of former South African President Jacob Zuma has been accused by her sister of tricking 17 men from the country into fighting for Russia in the war-torn Ukraine. The alleged recruits were allegedly misled with false promises of paramilitary training and lucrative employment contracts, only to find themselves on the frontlines of the conflict without their knowledge or consent.

Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla, an MP representing her father's party, has filed charges against two others, Siphokazi Xuma and Blessing Khoza, claiming she was duped into recruiting men for what she thought was a legitimate training program. The allegations have sparked an investigation by the South African police service, with 13 charges pending.

The case raises concerns about people trafficking, providing assistance to foreign militaries without government authorisation, and fraud. It also highlights the plight of foreign fighters caught up in the conflict, many of whom are drawn in by false promises of employment or adventure.

Russia has been accused of relying on coercion and deception to recruit foreign fighters from countries such as Africa, India, Nepal, Syria, and Cuba. The Ukrainian military has released a video of a captured Kenyan fighter who claimed he was deceived into fighting for Russia.

Meanwhile, thousands of North Korean soldiers have reportedly been sent by their government to fight for Russia, with hundreds thought to have died. Ukraine has also recruited 2,000 contract soldiers from Colombia in recent months.

The South African government has acknowledged the recruitment of 17 men from the country and is working to bring them home after receiving "distress calls" for assistance. The investigation into the case is ongoing, but it remains unclear whether Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla will face charges or be cleared of any wrongdoing.

omg this is so crazy 17 men from SA got tricked into fighting in Ukraine war what happened to them? they must have been super scared and didn't know what was going on they should get some help ASAP

reminds me of when I watched that movie 'The English Patient' back in the day, it was like this guy got caught up in a war he didn't ask for and had no idea what was happening to him. same thing with these guys from SA

anyway we gotta be careful how people recruit us or convince us to do things without thinking it through. my aunt used to get scammed so much back in the day, always ended up losing money

we should also think about those foreign fighters caught up in this conflict they don't even know what's going on but they're stuck there fighting for someone else's war it's just not fair

This whole situation with Duduzile's alleged recruitment of men for Russia is seriously concerning 😒. I can only imagine how those 17 young men must feel, being misled and tricked into fighting in a war they didn't even know about 🤕. And to think that some people are profiting from these false promises, it's just heartbreaking 💔. As a parent, my mind is racing with thoughts of what I would do if one of my own children was in this situation... I'd want to know everything and fight for their rights every step of the way 🤝. The fact that Duduzile is an MP and her own sister is accusing her of being duped just highlights how easily vulnerable people can be exploited 🚨. It's a sobering reminder that we need better systems in place to protect our citizens from these types of situations 💪.

OMG u guyz!!! 🤯 This is soooo sus... like duduzile zuma-sambudla recruited these guys 4 Russia without them even noin 2 b fightin 4 em! 😱 and now her sis is all up in arms fileing charges & stuff. I'm totes confused tho, like wut was goin thru dat girl's mind? 🤔 Russia's been accused of manipulatin ppl 4 their war, but also it highlights how difficult it is 4 ppl 2 escape these situations... poor guys who got caught up in all dis. 💔

🤔 this is so disturbing, think about all those men from South Africa who are just trying to make a living and get caught up in something they didn't even know was happening... 😕 17 people already 🚫 the fact that Duduzile thought it was legit training program but ended up on frontlines without their knowledge or consent is just crazy 💥 and what about all those others who got recruited from other countries? 🌎 it's not right, we need to make sure these kinds of things don't happen again 💪

🤔 This whole thing is seriously shady. I mean, can you even imagine being duped into fighting in a war that's not even your own? It's like they're playing some kinda sick game with people's lives. Russia and Ukraine are getting exposed for their dirty tactics, but what about the poor dudes who got recruited and didn't know what was going on? They should be taken to task, tbh. And what's with the 17 South Africans who were allegedly lured into this mess? How many more would they've been if not caught by Duduzile's sister? It's just another example of people being used as pawns in these global conflicts... 🚫

OMG, this is soooo not good 🤯! I'm literally shaking right now thinking about how Duduzile got tricked into recruiting guys for Russia 💔. Like, what kind of scam is that? And the fact that she thinks it's a legit training program but really just a front for people trafficking... ugh 😷.

I'm all about my South Africans, you know? 🇿🇦 But this just goes to show that even in our own country, we can fall victim to these kinds of scams. I mean, what if it happened to someone close to me or my fam? 😩

We gotta be careful out here, folks! Don't get caught up in something that sounds too good to be true 🤑. And the fact that Russia is using deception and coercion to recruit people... that's just plain evil 👊.

Anywayz, I'm keeping an eye on this situation and hoping for the best for all those affected 💕. My heart goes out to them, tbh ❤️.

🤔 lol can you believe what's happening in Ukraine right now? like thousands of soldiers from all over the world just being sent to fight without even knowing why they're doing it 🚫 I mean, I know politics and war are complicated, but 17 South Africans getting tricked into fighting for Russia is wild 🔥 what's next, is Russia going to start hiring Uber drivers from everywhere too? 🚗 haha just kidding, kinda
