Zootropolis 2 review – just-about-passable family comedy sequel might as well be AI generated

The wait for Zootopia 2 has finally arrived, bringing with it a fresh batch of witty one-liners and laugh-out-loud moments, albeit in a manner that feels distinctly unoriginal. The sequel to Disney's beloved animated hit does enough to satisfy fans of the original, but ultimately falters in its quest to reignite the magic.

Ginnifer Goodwin returns as Judy Hopps, an idealistic young rabbit who remains as endearingly optimistic as ever, while Jason Bateman reprises his role as Nick Wilde, a sly fox with a penchant for sarcasm. The unlikely duo once again find themselves at the center of a complex investigation, this time delving into a seemingly straightforward crime involving a stolen journal belonging to a high-ranking lynx family.

As the story unfolds, Hopps and Wilde uncover a web of secrets, lies, and conspiracies that threaten the very foundations of Zootropolis. The animation is as vibrant and visually stunning as ever, with intricate details and clever references that will delight fans of the original.

However, beneath its glossy surface, Zootopia 2 feels like a perfectly passable family film, lacking the heart and soul that made its predecessor so memorable. The humor, while still enjoyable, comes across as formulaic and heavily reliant on algorithmically generated jokes and corporate-approved gags.

In short, Zootopia 2 is a movie that exists, filling a necessary void for families seeking entertainment on a long journey or quiet evening at home. While it may not set the world ablaze, it's an unobjectionable addition to the franchise, even if it doesn't quite live up to its own high standards.

Ultimately, this film serves as a reminder that sometimes, less is more. With no bold risks taken and an overly safe approach, Zootopia 2 may leave viewers feeling like they're experiencing AI-generated content – competent, yet soulless and forgettable in equal measure.

I just got out of the cinema after watching Zootopia 2 🎥👀 and I gotta say, it's a solid but totally unremarkable sequel. I mean, Ginnifer Goodwin and Jason Bateman are still hilarious as Judy and Nick, but the jokes this time around feel like they're just phoning it in from a joke bank 🤣. Don't get me wrong, it's fun to watch, but it's like they took all the magic of the first film and put it in a blender with some 'fun' family movie formula... result: a perfectly passable movie that doesn't exactly set my heart on fire ❤️. Still, if you're gonna sit down and watch something with your kids or just wanna unwind, Zootopia 2's your ticket 🍿👍

idk wut Disney's tryna do w/ zootopia 2 lol 🤷‍♂️. its like dey took everythin' thats worked in de previous one & put it in a blender, hit puree, & served it up w/ a side of formulaic jokes 😐. dont get me wrong, ginifer goodwin & jason bateman r still hilarious, but dey cant save dis movie from feelin like a soulless franchise cash-grab 💸. zootropolis 2 is def worth watchin if ur lookin for somethin' to do w/ de fam, but dont expect it 2 blow u away 😴.

idk man... zootopia 2 feels like it's just phoning it in 🤔 i mean, the animation is still on point and ginnifer goodwin and jason bateman are still lovable as ever, but it's just so... safe 🙏 they're not really taking any risks or pushing the boundaries of what made the first one great. it's like they're trying to make a formula for success instead of going all in on something new 📈 and honestly, it shows. the jokes feel like they're being generated by a robot (no offense to robots) and it just feels like another generic family film 😐

you know what's wild? i just got back from this amazing hiking trip with my friends last weekend 🏞️👣 we hiked for like 5 hours through the woods and stumbled upon this secret waterfall that was literally hidden behind a bush 🌿💧 it was so cool! and the best part is, there's this one particular spot where you can see these tiny fireflies lighting up the night sky 🦋✨ it's just one of those experiences that'll stay with you forever 😊

I'm not entirely convinced by the hype around Zootopia 2 🤔. Don't get me wrong, it's a solid film with plenty of laughs and decent animation, but I felt like we'd seen it all before 😴. The humor, while funny at times, just didn't land as well for me. And I'm not buying into the whole "it's a family film that checks off all the right boxes" thing 📈. Sometimes you need to take some risks and push the boundaries of what makes your story special. This one feels like it played it way too safe, which is kinda disappointing 🙅‍♂️. Still, I can appreciate it for what it is – a solid, middle-of-the-road film that won't offend anyone but might leave you feeling like you've seen it all before 😐

ugh i was expecting so much more from zootopia 2 🤔 the jokes feel like they were ripped straight from a script generator 💻 it's just not the same as the original where the humor felt more organic and came from a place of heart, not some corporate formula 🤑 and don't even get me started on how predictable the plot is 🙄 i mean, who does that? 🤦‍♀️

IDK why ppl r so hyped about dis new zootopia movie 🤔. it's just a bunch of jokes that feel like they were generated by a script writer robot 😒. where's the originality? the heart? i mean, i love ginnifer goodwin and jason bateman as much as the next person, but dis movie just feels like more of the same old zootopia formula 📚. and don't even get me started on da animation - it's still gorgeous, but it can't make up for da lackluster storytelling 🤷‍♀️. all in all, it's a solid addition to da franchise, but not gonna blow any minds 👀.

omg i was kinda hoping zootopia 2 would be like way better than the first one 🤔 but overall its still a pretty fun movie? i mean, ginnifer goodwin is back as judy hopps and jason bateman as nick wilde and they're just so cute together 💕 but yeah the jokes feel kinda stale this time around and the plot gets all convoluted like what's with all these secrets and conspiracies?! 🤯 also can we talk about how much i love the animation tho? its still so vibrant and beautiful 🌈

I just watched Zootopia 2 🐰🤔 and I gotta say, it's a solid but unremarkable sequel. The animation is still on point 💥, and the voice acting from Ginnifer Goodwin and Jason Bateman is top-notch 👏. But what really gets me is that it feels like they're playing it way too safe 🙅‍♂️. I mean, we get all the expected jokes and one-liners, but there's no real depth or emotional resonance to speak of. It's just a fun, forgettable movie that'll satisfy fans of the original but won't leave you feeling inspired 😐. And yeah, sometimes less is more, right? 👌

I'm kinda underwhelmed by Zootopia 2 🤔. I mean, the animation is straight fire 🔥, but the story feels so predictable and lacking in depth. It's like they took every funny one-liner from the first movie and mashed them all together into a big ol' joke fest 😂. Don't get me wrong, it's still a fun watch, especially for kids, but as an adult, I felt like I'd seen it all before. The characters are still lovable, but they're not really growing or changing in any meaningful way 🐰💔. Overall, it's just...fine 😐. Not bad, but not exactly blowing minds either 💥.

😐 I mean, I'm all for a good animated film, but Zootopia 2 feels like it's just going through the motions. The humor is definitely funny, but it's just so... safe. You know? Like they're playing it too cool for school 🤪. And don't get me wrong, the animation is gorgeous as always 👏, but it's not like it's pushing any boundaries or taking any risks. It's just a solid, middle-of-the-road film that's gonna make you smile and forget about it once you leave the theater 🍿. I mean, I'm sure some people are gonna love it, but for me, it feels like more of the same old Zootopia magic 🤔...

I'm so meh about the new Zootopia 2. I mean, it's definitely not bad, but it just feels like more of the same old formula. The animation is still super colorful and fun to look at 🌈, but the jokes and humor feel kinda stale. And don't get me wrong, Ginnifer Goodwin and Jason Bateman are great as always 🤣, but they're not bringing anything new to the table.

I think what's really missing from this movie is that heart and soul that made the first one so special. The original had a certain energy and optimism that just wasn't there in this sequel. It felt like they were playing it safe, rather than taking some risks and trying something new. And yeah, I can get why that would feel kinda... forgettable 😐.

I'm not saying it's a total loss or anything, 'cause I do think families will still have fun watching it together 🎥. But if you're expecting something more from the Zootopia franchise, you might be a little disappointed.

I gotta say, I was kinda hyped for Zootopia 2, but now that it's out, I'm kinda underwhelmed 😐. I mean, the animation is still fire 🎨, no doubt about it. But, man, the jokes felt so formulaic and predictable... like they came straight from a script generator 🤖. And don't even get me started on how safe the whole thing feels. It's like they played it way too cautious with the humor and character development. I mean, Judy Hopps is still adorable as ever 😊, but Nick Wilde's sass was missing its usual oomph... maybe I'm just being harsh, though? 🤔

🤔 I'm not gonna lie, I went into this movie expecting a lot since the first one was fire 🚀! The animation is def on point tho 🎨, but for me, it felt like they just phoned it in 😴. The jokes were pretty standard and didn't really land with me 🤣. Ginnifer Goodwin & Jason Bateman are still great as Judy & Nick tho 👍. I mean, the movie's fine, but it's not gonna change my life or anything 💀. I think the problem is that it's trying too hard to be funny and relatable, instead of just being itself 🤷‍♀️. I'd say 6/10, maybe? 📊 The movie may fill a void for families, but for me, it was just a forgettable watch 😴.
