Update: Dense fog advisory in place for Delta for Friday and Saturday – limited visibility

Fog advisory issued for Delta region, limiting visibility to a quarter mile or less. The National Weather Service has warned that low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous, advising drivers to slow down, use their headlights, and maintain plenty of distance ahead.

If you're planning to travel through the dense fog, exercise extreme caution on the road. Consider delaying your trip if possible. To stay safe, follow these guidelines:

First and foremost, reduce your speed and allocate extra time for your journey. This will give you more time to react to unexpected situations.

When driving in low-visibility conditions, prioritize visibility. Ensure that your vehicle is visible from other directions by using low-beam headlights, which also activate your taillights. If available, use fog lights as well.

High-beams should be avoided, as they can create glare and make it more difficult to see ahead on the road. Instead, focus on maintaining a safe distance and staying in your lane.

In extreme situations where visibility is almost zero, turn on your hazard lights immediately and seek a secure location such as a nearby parking lot or business area. If you're unable to find a parking spot, pull over as far to the side of the road as possible and switch off all lights except for your hazard flashers.

To further minimize the risk of accidents, don't park in areas without designated spaces. Instead, turn off all lights and engage the emergency brake, then release the brake pedal to ensure that your tail lights are not illuminated. This will help prevent other drivers from colliding with you if they fail to stop on time.

By following these precautions, you can navigate through foggy conditions more safely and reduce the likelihood of accidents.

Ugh I'm so worried about our school's bus driving in this crazy fog 🚌😬! They need to slow down for sure and use their low-beam headlights, can't imagine if they got into an accident 🤕. We should all be careful when walking to school too, make sure we're visible from the road so the drivers don't hit us 🚨💡. It's not just about us students, it's about our parents and teachers who are always on the go too 😊.

Ugh, I'm so worried about all these people planning to drive through this crazy fog 🌫️! Can't they just stay indoors for one day? It's not worth risking their lives on the road... like, what if you're driving and can't see anything but your own hands in front of you? 😱 You'd be so disoriented. And what about all those poor drivers who might be stuck behind them, trying to react at the same time? We should really be taking this super seriously 🙏. I mean, yeah, it's not like we have a choice if we need to get somewhere, but still... it's just common sense to slow down and prioritize visibility when the roads are so hazy. And don't even get me started on parking in these conditions – it's just asking for trouble 🤦‍♀️.

Ugh, I'm so frustrated with all this weather drama 🤯... Anyway, have you considered how these fog advisories are impacting our daily lives? Like, think about it - people need to adjust their schedules and plans, which can be super stressful for those who already have a lot on their plate. And what about the environmental impact of reduced visibility driving? Not to mention the economic effects of road closures 🤑... Maybe we should start investing in more advanced fog-repellent tech or something? Just saying 💡

ugh i feel so bad for ppl who got stuck in this freakin fog already! like they dont have enough stress with work & life... driving around all hazy is just too much to handle 🙅‍♂️. if u gotta travel, pls take it slow, keep ur distance & use ur lights wisely 😊. don't be that person who loses control of ur car in the fog 🚗😨. stay safe out there, ppl 💕

Ugh, people need to slow down on these roads already... Like, I've been driving in the Delta for years and now I gotta worry about a quarter mile visibility? It's not that hard to adjust to bad weather conditions. Just use some common sense, check the radar before you leave, and for goodness sake, don't be texting and driving. The last thing we need is more accidents on these already congested roads 🚗💡

😊 Ugh, driving in this fog is gonna be such a pain! I'm planning a road trip to Delta region next week and I was really looking forward to it... now I'm thinking of just delaying my trip till the weather clears up 🤦‍♀️. But at the same time, I don't wanna let a little fog ruin my adventure 😒. Anyone got any tips on how to navigate through this stuff safely? I've heard using low-beam headlights is key... do you guys think that's true? 💡

🚨🌫️ I'm thinking about all the people in Delta region right now... fog advisory is gonna make a huge difference in road safety... 90% of accidents happen within 1 mile from the incident 🤯

Anyway, did you know that low visibility can be as bad as -3.5 meters per second wind speed? 😲 It's like driving through a tunnel! The stats show us that most accidents occur when drivers are traveling at speeds above 40 km/h in such conditions 💨

And have you seen the charts showing how many people get hurt or worse during foggy days? 📊🚑 over 70% of emergency calls happen on days with low visibility... That's like, a lot 😳

If you do need to travel, consider using your GPS for turn-by-turn directions and let someone know where you are going and when you plan to arrive. Better safe than sorry 🤝

ugh, people gotta be careful out there 😩. dense fog like this is no joke, it's already bad enough when visibility is a quarter mile or less... just imagine being stuck in that for hours. delayin your trip if possible? yeah, trust me, it's better to err on the side of caution. don't wanna be that guy who gets into an accident 'cause he was too eager to get where he's goin'. plus, all these precautions are actually pretty simple, so why not just take a sec to plan ahead? 🚗💡

I totally agree with this fog advisory, its getting pretty crazy out there 😅. I mean, who needs that kind of stress? But seriously, it's so important to prioritize safety on the roads, especially when visibility is really low. I was driving last week and saw someone barely make it through a tunnel without incident - it was super scary! 🤯

So yeah, just slow down, use your lights, and keep a safe distance - that's common sense, right? And omg don't even get me started on not parking in no-parking zones... just do it, you know? 😂 It's better to be safe than sorry. I'd rather take an extra 10 minutes getting to my destination than risk being stuck in a weird spot 🤦‍♀️.

I've lived in this area for years and never thought I'd see the day where we're getting fog advisories... but hey, at least it's not like snow or anything (which is even crazier 😂). Just be prepared and you'll be fine! ⚠️

🌫️ I'm totally stoked people are taking this fog advisory seriously! You know, it's always a good idea to slow down in dense fog - it's not worth risking your life just to save an hour or two on your commute. Trust me, extra time is way more valuable than a few minutes of shaved travel time.

And can we talk about how easy it is to get complacent when driving? Like, you're cruising along and suddenly visibility drops to zero - that's when panic mode kicks in. But by prioritizing visibility (hello low-beams!) and maintaining a safe distance, you're basically defying the fog to win. I mean, who needs to see anything outside of their car anyway?

The thing is, it's not just about you driving safely; it's also about being considerate of other drivers on the road. If someone does pull over in a tight spot or gets stuck, don't expect them to magically disappear - there are risks involved with parking in no-parking zones too!

Ultimately, it's all about being responsible and aware while driving. So take your time, stay alert, and keep those hazard lights flashing if needed – we can all get through this foggy weather together!

🌨️ gotta be careful out there, folks! I'm planning a road trip this weekend and now I'm thinking twice about it. The thought of driving in dense fog is kinda scary 😬. But at the same time, I really need to get some stuff done. So what's a guy to do? 🤔

I think the best option would be to delay my trip until the weather clears up. It's just not worth the risk of getting into an accident and dealing with the hassle of getting stranded on the side of the road. On the other hand, if I'm really set on going out, maybe I could look into renting a car that comes equipped with fog lights? That way, I can at least drive around safely without worrying about being invisible 🚗.

But honestly, I think it's always better to err on the side of caution when it comes to driving in bad weather. It's just not worth the risk, no matter how annoying it is to spend an extra day stuck inside 😊.

I'm surprised no one thought of using their fog lights until now lol 🤷‍♀️. Like, who hasn't driven in a thick fog and had to rely on their wits (and good fortune) to make it to their destination? I mean, I guess it's better late than never right? 🙄 Anyway, just wanted to share my expertise on how to drive in the fog... take heed! 😒

🚨 Fogs gonna fogs! I mean, come on people, slow down already! I just got back from a road trip and it was like driving through a wet blanket. Visibility was so low, I could barely see my hand in front of my face. I had to switch off all lights except hazard flashers just to avoid getting rear-ended. And don't even get me started on the cars that didn't even bother to slow down 🙄. We need more than just these guidelines to stay safe out there. What about better road infrastructure? Or designated fog lanes? It's like we're still stuck in the dark ages of transportation 😒.

omg have u guys ever driven in thick fog its like a whole diff world!! u gotta be so careful not just 4 ur own sake but also 4 other drivers who cant see 🤯

i think it's a good idea 2 slow down & use ur headlights even if u got low-beams they make a big diff. dont even think about using high beams in that muck!! and yeah, turn on hazard lights ASAP when its super foggy.

parking is key dont park in random spots or u might get rear-ended 🚗😬. also, dont underestimate the power of emergency brakes use them when necessary

anyway, just be patient & take ur time driving thru the fog. it's better 2 err on the side of caution than 2 risk ur life 😊
