UK unveils bid for 2035 women's football World Cup with 15 cities and 22 stadiums in mix

UK Unveils Ambitious Bid to Host 2035 Women's Football World Cup with 15 Cities and 22 Stadiums

The UK has formally submitted its bid to host the 2035 Women's Football World Cup, which promises to be one of the largest single-sport events staged in the country. The bid brings together 15 potential host cities across England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland, with a total of 22 stadiums that will be whittled down to between 14 and 16.

The proposed venues include several major stadiums like the new Chelsea stadium, Manchester United's proposed stadium, and Birmingham City's stadium. The Football Association (FA) has also expressed interest in redeveloping existing stadiums, such as Stamford Bridge and Wrexham's stadium, to meet Fifa requirements.

According to Mark Bullingham, FA chief executive, the bid aims to bring together 63 million people living within two hours of a match venue, showcasing the country's most recognizable cities and stadia. The decision has been met with enthusiasm from clubs and local councils alike, which is a stark contrast to the experience England had before hosting the 2022 Women's Euros.

Ellen White, the Lionesses' record goalscorer, described the bid as "really special," drawing parallels with her Olympic experience in 2012. She highlighted the global attention and exposure that comes with hosting a World Cup event, which would be an incredible opportunity for younger generations to watch women's football and get involved.

The UK is joined by a single bidder from the United States, Mexico, Jamaica, and Costa Rica for the 2031 tournament, while Brazil has been announced as the host country for the 2027 Women's Football World Cup. The Fifa Congress will vote on the hosts for the 2031 and 2035 tournaments in April 2026, with the UK's bid book now available online.

🀩 this is so cool that the UK is hosting the women's football world cup in 2035, i mean its gonna be massive 🌟 63 million people watching from all over is insane! and the fact that they're redeveloping old stadiums is a great move too, it'll be sick to see new venues popping up everywhere. plus with ellens endorsement and everyone else's enthusiasm, i think their chances are pretty good 🀞 fingers crossed for the UK to pull this off πŸ‘

🀩 "Believe you can and you're halfway there." - Theodore Roosevelt 😊 It's awesome to see the UK taking a big step forward with their bid to host the Women's Football World Cup! With 15 cities and 22 stadiums lined up, it's clear that they're serious about putting on an unforgettable show. The enthusiasm from clubs and local councils is infectious, and Ellen White's words are music to my ears - this could be a game-changer for women's football in the UK. Fingers crossed they'll bring home the gold (or rather, the World Cup trophy)! πŸ†

I'm literally so hyped about this!! 🀩 I mean, hosting a women's football world cup is such an amazing opportunity to showcase what England has to offer - our passionate fans, incredible stadiums, and talented players like Ellen White πŸ’–! The fact that the bid brings together cities from across the UK and some great international partners is just the icing on the cake πŸŽ‚. I'm also loving how enthusiastic everyone involved seems to be about it - it's clear that this would be an event to remember for young girls (and boys!) everywhere πŸ‘§πŸ½πŸ‘¦πŸ». Let's hope it all comes together smoothly and we get to see an incredible tournament in 2035 🀞!

The UK's bid to host the 2035 Women's Football World Cup is a big deal 🀩! I'm all for it, but we need to make sure that these 15 cities and 22 stadiums are accessible to everyone, not just the privileged few πŸ’Έ. It's great that Ellen White mentioned the importance of younger generations getting involved in women's football, let's make sure we're investing in grassroots programs so they can enjoy this amazing opportunity 🌟.

And I'm loving the fact that the FA is redeveloping existing stadiums to meet Fifa requirements - it's a win-win for both the environment and the sport 🌿. We need more events like this that bring people together, promote unity, and celebrate women's empowerment πŸŽ‰. Fingers crossed for the UK's bid! πŸ’ͺ

πŸ™ I think it's awesome that the UK is going all out to host the 2035 Women's Football World Cup! Having 15 cities and 22 stadiums on board is a massive undertaking, but it'll definitely bring so much attention and excitement to women's football in the country 🌟. The fact that clubs and local councils are super excited about this bid is a great sign that there's genuine enthusiasm behind it 😊. It's also awesome to hear Ellen White's glowing comments - I'm sure she knows what it takes to be at the top of your game, and it'll be incredible for younger generations to see them in action 🌱. Only time will tell how everything unfolds, but on paper, this looks like a winner! πŸ†

Dude I'm telling you, this is just a setup for some huge surveillance state project πŸ€–. They're gonna host this massive event and suddenly they'll be redeveloping stadiums left and right... sounds like a classic case of "build it and they will come"... or in this case, build it and they will watch their every move πŸ“Ί. And let's not forget the "63 million people" that'll be affected - sounds like some kinda population control experiment to me 🀝. Plus, have you seen the lineup of stadiums? New Chelsea stadium, Manchester United's proposed... what a coincidence πŸ’Έ. Mark Bullingham just spewed out some corporate-speak about bringing the country together, but I'm onto his game 🎭. We should all be worried about who's really behind this bid πŸ€‘.

I'm not sure about this whole thing... Like, what's wrong with England hosting a tournament already? Can't they just have one event every few years instead of trying to cram them all into the calendar? πŸ€” I mean, 22 stadiums is a lot, and what if some of those stadiums aren't even good enough for a World Cup? And have you seen the new Chelsea stadium? It's got like 4 or something... who needs that many seats just for one tournament?

And what about the environment? Hosting an event like this is going to cause so much disruption and waste. I hope they're planning ahead and thinking about how to minimize the impact on local communities. 🌎

I gotta say, hosting a massive event like the Women's World Cup is super ambitious 🀯. The fact that they're thinking about stadiums for up to two hours away from each match venue shows how committed they are to making it happen. And I love that Ellen White is hyped about this - it's gonna be great for the sport, especially for young girls who want to get into football πŸ€πŸ’ͺ.

I'm a bit curious why there's only one bidder from the US and their friends? shouldn't there be more countries in the running? but I guess that's just how it goes sometimes πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ. What I do know is that this will bring so much money and attention to the UK, especially when it comes to women's football - it's a huge deal!

🀩 This is amazing news! I'm so stoked to see the UK going all out for the Women's Football World Cup in 2035! 🌟 Hosting such a huge event will bring so much joy and pride to our country, and it'll be awesome to see women's football get even more love and attention worldwide 😍. The fact that they're aiming to include 63 million people in the viewing area is just incredible – it's going to be a massive celebration of sport and community πŸŽ‰. I'm definitely keeping an eye on this bid, fingers crossed we'll get to host it! πŸ‘

the uk is gonna throw a huge party πŸŽ‰πŸˆ to host the women's football world cup! 15 cities, 22 stadiums... that's massive 🀯. i'm hyped for the lionesses to be part of it, especially with ellen white on board πŸ’ͺ. hosting a world cup is not just about football, it's about bringing people together and showcasing your country's cool factor 😎. i think the uk has got this one in the bag πŸ†. but let's see how other countries do in the bidding process... it's gonna be an interesting ride πŸš€!
