From Christy to Neil Young: your complete entertainment guide to the week ahead

Here are some entertainment and lifestyle articles from The Guardian:

**Music**

* Jessie J – Don't Tease Me With a Good Time: The proud owner of one of pop's biggest voices, Jessie J turns it up to 11 on her first album since 2018.
* Tate McRae – So Close to What???: As is de rigueur for pop stars in 2025, Canadian superstar McRae follows up February's So Close to What with this hastily recorded deluxe edition.
* The Futureheads – Christmas: In 2010, these Sunderland indie rockers released the rollicking yuletide nostalgia fest Christmas Was Better in the 80s. Fifteen years later that song takes pride of place on this festive album, alongside another original and a handful of classics.

**Film**

* Metroid Prime 4: Beyond: Perhaps the most long-awaited Nintendo game in recent years (it was first announced in 2017 under a different developer), this latest first-person adventure sees bounty hunter Samus Aran explore a new alien planet.
* Simogo Legacy Collection: With the fast-changing nature of smartphones rendering early games unplayable, stylish Swedish developer Simogo is future-proofing its catalogue by bringing seven titles – Beat Sneak Bandit, Year Walk and Device 6 among them – to modern platforms, complete with playable prototypes.

**Television**

* The New Yorker at 100: Oscar-winning director Marshall Curry takes a camera crew into the offices of fabled journalistic institution the New Yorker. His film asks whether the magazine's high standards of reporting are sustainable in a fast-paced digital age.
* Re:TV: This eco-focused streaming service is full of engaging and informative short films exploring everything from the mission to restore biodiversity at Kew Gardens to developments in food waste management, recycling, recirculation and renewable packaging.

**Podcasts**

* 101 Part Time Jobs with Giles Bidder: Giles Bidder's interview series delves into the inspiring stories and struggles of independent artists. Scottish rockers Biffy Clyro recount their creative rebirths while poet Joshua Idehen talks about his previous burlesque bar job.
* Re:TV: This eco-focused streaming service is full of engaging and informative short films exploring everything from the mission to restore biodiversity at Kew Gardens to developments in food waste management, recycling, recirculation and renewable packaging.

**Gaming**

* The Hunt: The hunters become the hunted in this tense French thriller, which follows a group of friends who are targeted by a mysterious band of fellow gun-enthusiasts in the forest. A shootout ensues, followed by guilt, paranoia and a moral quagmire from which none of them can escape.
* Talamasca: The Secret Order: The latest entry in Interview With a Vampire author Anne Rice's streamer-drama universe centres on an enigmatic, ancient and possibly corrupt organisation who protect humans from the supernatural sphere. Elizabeth McGovern and Jason Schwartzman are the big names in the cast.

**Streaming**

* Netflix's Metroid Prime 4 and Simogo Legacy Collection will be released on December 4th.
* The New Yorker at 100: A documentary about the magazine's 100-year history, to be released on Netflix on December 5th.

omg i cant w8 for netflixs releases!! Metroid Prime 4 & Simogo Legacy Collection are gonna be SO much fun to play 🤩🎮, and The New Yorker at 100 doc looks super interesting - love how they're covering all the big topics like reporting in a digital age 💻. also cant say how stoked i am for more indie rock music vibes from Jessie J & Tate McRae 🎵💖

You know what I think? 🤔 Everyone's always talking about the new music and the new games now that they're finally being released... but I was just looking through some old stuff from when I was younger 📺. Remember those Simogo games that everyone used to play on their computers back in the day? Beat Sneak Bandit, Year Walk... whoa what a trip down memory lane! 😆

Anyway, it's nice to see them bringing all these older games and albums out now so we can enjoy 'em again or introduce 'em to our younger relatives. I mean, my grandkids love playing old video games on their tablets, so it's great that they're offering some of the classics again 🎮.

And you know what? The New Yorker at 100 documentary coming up next month is probably going to be really interesting too... as long as the people making it can do it justice! 🤞

just heard metroid prime 4 is finally coming out can't wait to spend my hard earned cash on another game that's been 8 years in development lol 🤣

omg i am so hyped for metroid prime 4!!! i've been waiting since like forever for this game and it finally drops on dec 4 🤩 i need to get my hands on that samus aran gameplay ASAP! the wait has been soooo long and i'm literally counting down the days till i can play this masterpiece 💥

I'm not sure why they're so hyped about Jessie J's new album 🎶. I mean, it's just another pop song with a big voice, right? Don't get me wrong, I love a good catchy tune as much as the next person, but can we please talk about something else for once? The Futureheads' Christmas album is where it's at – who doesn't love a good nostalgic vibes fest this time of year? 🎅

just saw they're re-releasing metroid prime 4 on netflix 🚀 seems like it's finally been in the works for ages lol what's with all these rereleases tho? is that how we live now? 😐

I'm loving the music scene right now 🎵🔥 Jessie J's album is fire 🔥 and Tate McRae's deluxe edition is giving me life 😂. The Futureheads' Christmas album is so nostalgic 🎄, it's like a time capsule in my ears.

And have you guys seen the gaming news? 🤖 Metroid Prime 4 is finally coming out on December 4th 📆 and I'm so hyped! Simogo Legacy Collection is also dropping soon, which is amazing for retro gamers 🙌.

But what's really got me excited is the new documentary about The New Yorker 📰. 100 years of journalism? That's a legacy worth celebrating 💯. And it's going to be on Netflix, so I can watch it from the comfort of my own home 📺.

Stats:

* 73% of music fans are listening to more indie artists than ever before 🎸
* The global gaming market is expected to reach $190 billion by 2027 💸
* 75% of viewers prefer watching documentaries on Netflix over traditional TV 📺

omg have you tried those new truffle fries at burger king 🍟👀 they're like whoa got a major fave snack now i'm wondering if we can get them in the uk tho maybe we should start a petition 🤣 or what's with nintendo taking so long to release metroid prime 4? been waiting for that game since like 2017 😩 anyway, just saw a pic of that new simogo legacy collection on my phone and it looks SO cool 👍

🤦‍♂️ Can't believe it's been so long since I've seen a decent layout on this site. Every article is just a jumbled mess of text and images. Where's the visual hierarchy? Why are all the articles bunched up together like they're in some kind of news dump? And don't even get me started on the "features" section... it's just a list of links to more stuff that I can find elsewhere online. 🙄

omg you guys 🤯 i'm so hyped for metroid prime 4!!! it's been ages since we've gotten a new game from samus aran and now nintendo is finally dropping it in 2025 🎮 can't wait to dive into that alien planet with samus 👽

i'm also loving the simogo legacy collection, who wouldn't want to play some of those stylish games on their phone again? 📱 it's crazy how game development has changed over the years. but yeah, this collection is a no-brainer for any retro gaming fan 🙌

Man 🤣, have you heard that Jessie J's album is finally out? Like, she's been hiding her vocals in a cave for ages and now she's gonna blow our minds! Don't Tease Me With a Good Time, yeah! Sounds like she's got some major attitude 💁‍♀️. And can we talk about Tate McRae's new deluxe edition? So Close to What?? is already giving me anxiety just thinking about it 😩. Anyway, I heard Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is out on Netflix too 🎮... Samus Aran better bring the noise (and power-ups)!

I mean, what's up with all these retro releases? Like, can't we have some new music and games for once? 🙄 The Tate McRae deluxe edition is literally just a re-recorded version of the same album... that's not even like, a proper new release. And don't even get me started on Metroid Prime 4. It's been in development hell for years! 😤 How long are Nintendo gonna take to get this one right? 🤔

I'm loving all these new music releases from Jessie J 🎵 - she always brings that fire 🔥! And can't wait for Metroid Prime 4: Beyond on Nintendo... I've been waiting since 2017 😂. But you know what's even more exciting? The fact that Re:TV is bringing us short films about eco-friendly stuff 🌿 and food waste management - we really need to focus on our planet, right? ❤️

omg i'm so hyped for jessie j's new album 🎵 can't wait to vibe out to her sick beats!! i've been following tate mcrae and she's got such an amazing voice too 🤩 about that simogo legacy collection though... it's wild how games just disappear over time 📚 glad they're bringing back some old faves for us nostalgic gamers 🎮

I'm so stoked to see some awesome articles from The Guardian 🤩! It looks like they're really covering a range of topics this time around, from new music releases 🎵 and films 🍿 to TV shows 📺 and podcasts 🗣️. I mean, who wouldn't want to know more about Metroid Prime 4 🚀 or The New Yorker's 100-year history? 📰 It seems like they're focusing on some really cool stuff that's been out for a bit, but it's still worth checking out.

And yay for Simogo Legacy Collection 👏! I love when old games get re-released so we can all enjoy them again. The idea of having playable prototypes is genius - it's like getting a taste of the past and present at the same time 🤯.

Anyway, I'm kinda hoping they'll cover more new releases next week... fingers crossed 🤞!

Just listened to Jessie J's new album and OMG it's fire 🔥! Her vocals are insane as always but this one has a different vibe that makes me wanna dance all day 💃. And can we talk about Tate McRae too? I love how she's always pushing the boundaries of pop music 🎤. Simogo Legacy Collection is also a great addition to my gaming library - it's amazing how they've preserved these classic games for us newbies 📚.

omg I'm so hyped for Jessie J's new album 🤩 I've been a fan since her Brit Awards win days 🎉 and it's awesome she's back with some fresh fire 🔥 can't wait to get my hands on the deluxe edition of Tate McRae's So Close to What??👀

Just dropped out of the metaverse to catch up on some entertainment news 📺. So Metroid Prime 4 is finally coming out in Dec 🤯! Been waiting since 2017 lol. And a Simogo Legacy Collection is great to see, their games were always so stylish 😎. The New Yorker documentary is also really interesting, I've heard they're not changing the way they do journalism but just adapting to digital age 💻. Re:TV is a new one for me, but it seems like some cool eco-focused stuff 🌿
