I just finished watching this show and I'm still trying to process everything that happened
. I mean, can you imagine being trapped in an Iranian prison for years with no real support from your own government? It's wild to think about how much powerlessness Nazanin must've felt... like she was basically at the mercy of some super oppressive regime
. But what really got me was the way the show portrayed Boris Johnson's handling of the situation... I mean, come on
. Like, how do you even deal with a hostage situation and still manage to look so clueless?
Anyway, I guess that's just what happens when politics takes precedence over people's lives
. It's actually pretty powerful that the show highlights love as this huge source of strength for Nazanin and Richard... it's like, even in the darkest times, we've got to hold onto each other
.
