Miley Cyrus reveals intimate proposal details with fiancé Maxx Morando, describing the surprise and joy of their recent engagement in Asia.

In a candid interview with "Good Morning America" on Wednesday, the singer-songwriter, 33, discussed her whirlwind romance with the drummer, 27, whom she met after being set up on a blind date in 2021.

"I am not easy to surprise because I love to control every situation," Cyrus revealed. "I had completely surrendered." Morando, who designed the stunning 14-karat gold ring Cyrus now sports, got down on one knee during their recent trip to Asia, leaving her "so, so surprised" and overjoyed.

The couple, who began dating in 2021, initially sparked engagement rumors when they walked the red carpet together for Monday's world premiere of "Avatar: Fire and Ash" in Los Angeles. They were seen making out on the street earlier this year and confirmed their relationship status with People magazine in February 2024, when it was reported that they had been living together.

Cyrus expressed her happiness about Morando, describing him as a great guy who makes her feel special. "Everyone loves Maxx," an insider told Page Six exclusively. "He's private and doesn't like being in the press, but it's been good for her."

The pop star shared glimpses of her new sparkler during the interview, flaunting her shimmering cushion-cut stone designed by jewelry expert Jacquie Aiche. The ring was first spotted on Cyrus' finger in mid-November.

The singer-songwriter has previously been married to actor Liam Hemsworth from 2018 to 2020 and now seems to be enjoying a new chapter in love with Morando.
