Chicagoans Bracing for More Snow on Commute Home

A gentle dusting of snow is set to descend upon the Chicago area, just as evening commuters are preparing to head home from work. According to National Weather Service meteorologist Gino Izzi, a half-inch or less of snowfall, accompanied by potentially freezing drizzle, will arrive in the early afternoon and persist through the evening hours.

While the current road conditions remain relatively favorable following recent major snowfalls, caution is advised for drivers, with Izzi warning that even slight accumulations can exacerbate the situation. "It doesn't take much to make things worse," he cautioned.

Temperatures will be plummeting by Thursday, dipping from a midday high of 28 degrees to lows of around 7 degrees and highs only expected to reach 18. This drastic drop in temperature serves as a reminder that the city has already seen its fair share of snow this year, with Saturday's November snowfall setting a record at nearly 9 inches.

As Chicago residents prepare for another winter evening on the roads, it's essential to be mindful of the rapidly changing weather conditions and exercise extra caution when navigating through the potentially slippery streets.
