Former senator Bob Menendez banned from holding public office in New Jersey

Ugh, can you even believe this?! Like, how does one go from being a senator to totally losing all public trust just because they got caught taking bribes and favors for cash? 🤯 It's not like Menendez was trying to make a difference or anything, he was literally selling out his own country for some fancy gold bars and US military assistance! 💸 And now, this judge is basically saying that if you're found guilty of corruption, you can just forget about holding public office ever again? No way, period. That's like taking away someone's identity all of a sudden! I mean, Menendez served his time, but do we really have to punish him even further by stripping him of his entire career?! It just seems so... excessive. 😒

🤦‍♂️ I don't get why politicians think they're above the law lol... like seriously, Bob Menendez got convicted of some shady stuff and he expected a pardon just 'cause Trump is his buddy? 🙄 Not buying it. Corruption is real and we need people like Matt Platkin holding those in power accountable. And now, New Jersey's protecting its citizens by banning him from public office. Good move, I guess 😒

can't believe what's happening in the usa 🤯, first it's politicians getting caught up in scandals and now they're actually being held accountable... sounds like progress to me 💡 but let's be real, this just shows how broken the system is 🚮 i mean, a permanent ban from public office? that's extreme even for someone as corrupt as menendez ⏰ what's next? automatic pardons for everyone with a big enough donation account 💸 or better yet, lets just get rid of all politicians altogether and let citizens vote on laws instead of letting them sell out to the highest bidder 🤖

idk why we're so quick to forgive politicians who mess up big time 🤑... menendez thought he was above the law with all those bribes and favors, but now he's being held accountable 💪. i think its cool that new jersey is taking a stand against corruption in politics - it shows us that no one is too powerful or connected to get away with shady dealings 🙅‍♂️. and let's be real, 11 years in the slammer should've been enough time for menendez to reflect on his actions... instead he's still trying to cling to power 💼.
