"It f**king sucks": Lillard responds to Tarantino criticism

Ricky Lillard Fires Back at Tarantino's Barbs: 'He Wouldn't Say That to Top Actors'

In response to Quentin Tarantino's recent criticism of him, Portland Trail Blazers point guard Damian Lillard made a scathing remark about the infamous director. During an appearance on Bret Easton Ellis' podcast, Tarantino had expressed his dislike for Lillard, stating that he was "a big, giant flaw" in Paul Thomas Anderson's "There Will Be Blood". The comment also included Lillard along with actors Owen Wilson and himself.

Lillard addressed Tarantino's remarks over the weekend, suggesting that the director was taking easy shots at lesser-known actors. When asked by a reporter about his response to Tarantino's criticism, Lillard stated: "It hurts your feelings, it f**king sucks". This statement seemed aimed directly at Tarantino, who didn't comment further on his remarks.

However, not everyone came to Lillard's defense. Simu Liu and Alec Baldwin both praised Paul Dano for his performance in "There Will Be Blood", with Liu taking to the social media platform X to describe Dano as an "incredible actor". Baldwin also shared a video of himself calling out anyone who might be criticizing Dano, stating that it was time for them to keep quiet.

😀 Oh man, I'm so done with Quentin Tarantino right now! He thinks he's above firing shots at up-and-coming actors? πŸ™„ Like, hello, if you're gonna come for someone, at least have the guts to say it to their face or in a film. It's just cheap and cowardly. And to think he had the nerve to diss Damian Lillard, who's done some amazing work on and off the court... like, what's Tarantino even watching? πŸ€” Meanwhile, Simu Liu is over here being a total stand-up guy for Paul Dano, and Alec Baldwin is calling out all the haters. I'm with Liu and Baldwin all the way - if you're gonna trash someone's work, at least have the decency to do it in person or to their face... anything less is just petty 🚫.

OMG u guys I cant even 🀯 so Tarantino dissin people just cuz they not top actors and then he got roasted by Lillard like a whole πŸ‘€ what's up with this? I mean I thought we pasted the drama days of Hollywood but it seems like Tarantino still got some issues to work out πŸ’β€β™€οΈ but on a brighter note, Simu Liu & Alec Baldwin defendin Paul Dano is everything πŸ’• love how they came together to uplift each other's talent 🌟

You know Tarantino's just trying to get attention 🀣 he's always been a bit of a provocateur, and people eat it up! The thing is, when you're as big of a name as Quentin, every little comment from someone like Damian can be blown way outta proportion πŸŒͺ️. I mean, if Lillard was gonna respond to Tarantino, maybe he should've kept it classy? πŸ™ƒ but honestly, who needs class when you're just trying to roast someone else for free? πŸ’β€β™€οΈ it's all good drama, though, and we love a good trainwaggon crash – even if it is just a bunch of Hollywood egos getting tangled up in their own webs πŸ˜‚

idk why Tarantino gotta take shots at others, especially when they're just tryna do their thing πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ. like, if he's so confident in his work, can't he just focus on creating stuff instead of tearing other ppl down? and btw, what's the deal with him picking out specific actors to diss? seems like a pretty weak way to get validation πŸ˜’. Lillard's response was fire tho, who needs that kinda drama? 🚫 meanwhile, i'm rooting for Paul Dano all the way, he did an amazing job in "There Will Be Blood" πŸ‘

I don’t usually comment but... I feel bad for Damian Lillard in this situation πŸ€”. I get why he would want to fire back at Tarantino since the guy just dissed him on national TV, but honestly, I think he should have just stayed calm and ignored it πŸ’β€β™€οΈ. All that drama over a movie comment that probably didn't even mean much to Lillard in the first place πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ. And now Simu Liu and Alec Baldwin are getting caught up in all this, which is kinda unnecessary πŸ™„. Can't we just let actors play their roles without having to defend or attack each other? 😐

idk why people still talk about this tarantino dude I mean i like a good film like the last of us but idc what he thinks about ricky lillard anyway i was watching this funny vid on tiktok where lil nas x lip syncs to oldie but goodie songs and its hilarious 🀣

omg quentin tarantino is just mad because he's getting old and can't even throw shade at the right people lol πŸ™„ damian lillard called him out and now simu liu and alec baldwin are trying to defend paul dano instead of their own buddy ricky lillard? priorities, guys! πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ i'm team lillard all the way, btw πŸ‘Š

Tarantino's always been one for stirring up drama πŸ™„. I'm not surprised he went after Lillard, but the way Lillard fired back was a bit much 🀯. I mean, I get why you'd want to defend yourself when someone's throwing shade at your name, but come on, dude... "It hurts your feelings, it f**king sucks" πŸ˜‚? That's some extra sauce right there. Meanwhile, I'm over here thinking Lillard should've just called Tarantino out directly instead of resorting to that snarky comment πŸ€”. What really gets me is how people are praising Dano for his performance in "There Will Be Blood" and leaving Lillard taking the fall πŸ˜’. It's all about who you know, right? πŸ’β€β™€οΈ

omg, what's up with all these old guys trying to come for each other πŸ™„... like, Tarantino thinks he's some kinda expert on actors just 'cause he's written and directed a bunch of cool movies? newsflash, Q: you're not the only one who can dish it out πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ. Lillard is right, though - if you're gonna diss someone, at least take aim at the big names first, don't try to throw shade at some up-and-comer like Dano πŸ˜‚. And btw, has anyone seen Tarantino's face lately? all scowl lines and no happy vibes 🀣
