Bally's Chicago Casino Project Unveils Plans for Poker Room and Gaming Floor
Renderings of the permanent Chicago casino have been released, offering an early look at the poker room and gaming floor that will welcome gamblers next year. The $1.7 billion project, set to open in 2025, promises a large slot machine game selection and table games area.
The renderings reveal a sprawling gaming floor with thousands of slot machines, as well as dedicated rooms for poker and baccarat. These areas are expected to drive revenue for the casino.
Construction on the site began last month after being halted temporarily due to concerns about a notorious garbage company at work on the project. State law requires Bally's to start accepting bets at its permanent location by September 2025.
To date, Bally’s has generated $270 million in adjusted revenue since opening a temporary casino inside the historic Medinah Temple in September 2023. This has translated into $41 million for state tax revenue and $33.6 million for Chicago's police and firefighter pensions.
Additionally, Bally’s is awaiting approval of another highly coveted New York gambling license to build a casino next to a Bronx golf course previously owned by Donald Trump. The land deal calls for Bally’s to pay the Trump Organization $115 million once it secures its license.
While the project offers an attractive combination of slots, table games, and exclusive gaming areas, its future remains uncertain due to ongoing investigation into irregularities during construction.
