Family of student deported to Honduras say they were targeted by ICE agents

Family Deportation Sparks Claims of Targeting by Immigration Agents

In a shocking and disturbing incident, the family of Any Lucia López Belloza, a 19-year-old college student from Massachusetts, was targeted by immigration agents at their home in Austin, Texas, on Sunday. López Belloza had recently been deported to Honduras while en route to visit her family for Thanksgiving.

According to her father, Francis López, three unmarked vehicles arrived at their home, and one agent, wearing a green vest marked "ERO", stormed into the yard, forcing him to run inside. The agents spent two hours at the house without knocking or attempting to communicate with the family, before leaving.

The family's lawyer, Kristin Etter, described the scene as "surreal" and said that immigration officials "did not have any papers or any warrant out". The family had previously petitioned for asylum but was denied about a decade ago. However, they claim to have never received a deportation order and are now questioning the legitimacy of López Belloza's removal.

The case has raised concerns among local authorities and politicians, with Democratic Congressman Greg Casar stating that the Trump administration is "targeting a college student's family because she spoke out about her unjust treatment by the federal government".

López Belloza herself expressed shock and sadness at the incident, saying: "What happened to me isn't fair. We went there to study and work hard, to move forward in pursuit of that American dream so many of us had." She is currently staying with her grandparents in northern Honduras and plans to continue her studies, either in Honduras or by completing her semester at university.

The incident highlights the ongoing challenges faced by undocumented immigrants and their families, who are often caught up in complex and unfair immigration systems. The lack of communication and transparency from immigration authorities has added to the family's distress, leaving them with more questions than answers about López Belloza's removal.

OMG this is so messed up 🤯! I'm literally shook by what happened to Any Lucia's family. Three unmarked cars just show up at their house and start causing a scene? That's so not cool! 🚫 And for two hours they just chill in the yard without knocking or saying anything? 🙅‍♂️ It's like, hello! You're a human being, not some anonymous agent trying to do your job.

And what really gets me is that this family has been through so much already. They had their asylum petition denied and then somehow they got deported anyway... it's just not right 🤦‍♀️. I mean, Any Lucia was just trying to study and move forward in life, and now her family is being punished for it? That's just cruel 😔.

We need to start demanding more from our immigration authorities. They need to be more transparent, communicate with families properly, and treat people with respect 🙏. This is not the America we're supposed to be living in 🇺🇸.

🤕 This is so disturbing! I mean, can you even imagine someone just showing up at your doorstep like that? It's not just the fact that they were targeting Lucia's family, but also the lack of transparency and communication from the authorities 🙄. It's like they're playing some kind of twisted game with people's lives.

And to make matters worse, it's a college student who's been going through all this stress and uncertainty. She should be focusing on her studies and her future, not dealing with the complexities of the immigration system 📚. I'm sending lots of love and support to Lucia and her family right now ❤️. We need to make sure that everyone is treated fairly and with dignity, regardless of their immigration status 💖.

It's also a huge red flag for Lucia's safety if she has to finish her semester in Honduras or wherever 🚨. I hope the authorities are held accountable for this incident and that Lucia gets the support she needs to continue pursuing her dreams 💪.

🤯 what's going on here?! a 19-yr-old college student who was already living in the US, studying, working hard, and trying to build a new life... and then BAM! her family is targeted by immigration agents just because of where she came from? it's like they're punishing her for speaking out about unfair treatment. 🤕 the fact that they didn't have any papers or warrant out makes this even more suspicious, if you ask me. what happened to due process and fairness in our immigration system?! 😩

🤔 I mean, who needs a doorbell when you're just gonna barge in right? 🚪 And can we talk about how convenient it is for "agents" to just show up unannounced and start snooping around? It's like they have nothing better to do than terrorize families over some paperwork. 🤷‍♀️ I'm sure it has nothing to do with the fact that López Belloza spoke out against her deportation... 👀

🤔 I'm not surprised at all that this is happening. Like, come on, a college student gets deported for speaking out against the system? It's just another example of how immigration agents are going to make life hell for people who don't play by their rules. And now her family's getting targeted too? That's just great. The Trump admin's all about "targeting" people like López Belloza, but what really is going on here is some poor family gets caught in the crossfire of bureaucratic nonsense.

And what's with all these "concerns" from politicians and local authorities? Concerns that are just a bunch of lip service to make themselves look good. It's not about López Belloza or her family, it's about how they can exploit this situation for their own gain. The real tragedy here is the lack of transparency and accountability from immigration authorities. They're more interested in covering up their own failures than actually helping people. This whole thing just reeks of corruption... 🚫

OMG 🤯 this is soooo not right!!! 🙅‍♀️ Immigration agents showing up at a family's home without warning or papers is super scary! 😨 I mean, who needs that kind of stress? 😩 The fact that the family was already in Honduras when López Belloza got deported makes me wonder if it's all connected... 🤔 Was she targeted because she spoke out about her own experience? 🗣️ It's a total shame. 😕 Everyone deserves to be treated with respect and dignity, no matter their immigration status! 💖

This is so messed up 🤯, a college student just trying to visit her family for Thanksgiving gets caught up in this huge mess... I mean, what's next? Her grandparents get targeted too?! 😱 It's like they're saying "you can't trust anyone, not even your own family". The fact that these agents just stormed into their house without knocking or warning them is just crazy... it's no wonder the family is traumatized 🤕.

And now the Congressmen are jumping in and saying the Trump administration is targeting this family for speaking out? 🤔 Like, what's the real reason behind all this? The system is so broken, and these families are the ones getting hurt 💔. It's like they're losing their American dream because of a bunch of red tape... it's just not fair 😠.

I'm not gonna sit here and say I know everything that's going on, but one thing for sure is that we need more transparency in this immigration system 📝. We need to find a way to help these families and give them a fighting chance 💪. It's time for us to step up and demand change 🎉!

Ugh, this is just heartbreaking 🤕! I mean, can you even imagine showing up at your own home in the middle of the night with a bunch of armed agents? It's like something out of a horror movie 😱. And to think that they didn't even knock or explain themselves - it's just cruel. The fact that this college student was already in Honduras studying and working hard, trying to make a life for herself, and then her family gets targeted like this is just devastating 💔.

And what really gets me is that the authorities are basically saying that López Belloza spoke out about being treated unfairly by the government, so they're targeting her family now? That's just ridiculous 🙄. It's like they think they can silence people and get away with it. Newsflash: you can't silence people who are fighting for justice and human rights 🗣️.

This whole thing is a perfect example of why we need to reform our immigration system and make sure that everyone is treated fairly and with dignity 🌎. I mean, López Belloza's family didn't do anything wrong - they're just trying to live their lives and provide for their daughter. It's time for us to stand up for them and demand better from our government 💪.

Ugh, I'm like totally shook by this news 🤯! If those agents didn't have any papers or a warrant out, then why did they just barge into the house? It's not like they were doing some kinda sting operation or something 😒. López Belloza was just trying to visit her family and study, she wasn't even committing a crime 🙅‍♀️. And now her whole family is dealing with this stress and uncertainty because of it? Unfair, if you ask me 😩. I'm all for immigration reform, but we need more transparency and respect for families who are already struggling to make ends meet 💸. This case is like, super disturbing, and I hope the authorities get their act together ASAP 🕒️.

This is crazy 😱! Can you believe they just showed up at a family's house without even knocking? It's like something out of a movie. The fact that they were looking for someone who was already deported makes me think there's been some kind of mistake 🤔. I don't get why the immigration agents didn't have any papers or a warrant, it just doesn't add up 📝. My heart goes out to López Belloza and her family, this is just really unfair 😔. It makes me wonder how many other people are going through something similar without even knowing it 👀.

I'm totally on the side of the family, you know? They were just trying to celebrate Thanksgiving with their daughter who's been through so much, and these agents come out of nowhere... 🤯 But at the same time, I mean, isn't López Belloza an undocumented immigrant now? Shouldn't she have known what was going on? I'm also kinda confused about how her family found out they were being targeted - shouldn't immigration agents be more transparent about these things? But on the other hand, if she didn't even get a deportation order, then who's right here? 🤔 The government? Her own family? It's all just so messed up... 😩

can u believe this is happening again?! 🤯 it's like, one thing that's supposed to be safe for everyone in this country... your home... isn't anymore. and Lopez Belloza was just trying to visit her family, no big deal! but apparently, having a deportation order doesn't mean she can't live her life either. i feel so bad for her and her family. shouldn't we have better protections in place? 🤷‍♀️

😒 this is just great another case of people being bullied by a system that's already stacked against them. like what even is the point of having immigration agents show up at someone's home unannounced? it's not exactly stealth mode, you know? and to make matters worse, the "agent" was wearing some kind of vest with "ERO" on it... sounds legit 🙄. i mean, who doesn't love a good surprise visit from someone in green? 😒

🤕 this is just heartbreaking, a 19-year-old girl gets deported on a whim & her family gets harassed like that by immigration agents? what was she even supposed to do wrong? 🤷‍♀️ she's studying to be part of the very system she's being persecuted for... it's like they're trying to break her spirit before she even starts 😔. and what about the fact that her family had previously petitioned for asylum but was denied a decade ago, only to have their lives turned upside down again? 🤯 it's just so unfair & inhumane. can't we find a way to treat ppl with kindness & compassion instead of fear & hostility? 😔
