A Marvel beat-'em-up, long-awaited survival horror and other new indie games worth checking out

A slew of indie titles are finally starting to make their way onto the gaming scene, with a mix of genres and gameplay styles on offer.

Marvel Cosmic Invasion is one such game that's worth checking out, being a retro-style side-scrolling beat-'em-up based on the Marvel animated shows from the '90s. It may not be the most complex game, but its variety of playable characters, each with unique abilities and playstyles, makes for an enjoyable experience.

Fans of horror games will also find something to appreciate in Routine, a survival horror title that's been in development for 13 years. With its retro-futuristic aesthetic inspired by moon bases from the 1980s, this game aims to create a sense of immersion with no waypoint markers or HUD to distract from the experience.

Sleep Awake is another horror game that's generating buzz, as it delves into the world of first-person psychedelic horrors and the consequences of sleep deprivation. Developed by Eyes Out, a studio founded by Spec Ops: The Line director Cory Davis and Nine Inch Nails guitarist Robin Finck, this game promises to be a thrilling experience.

Last but not least, there's Tingus Goose, an idle game with a unique blend of body horror elements and exploration. This cozy indie title has us intrigued, despite its initial confusing trailer.

While Effulgence RPG stands out for its 3D ASCII art style, we're more familiar with Simogo and their earlier titles, such as Sayonara Wild Hearts, which is now available in a Legacy Collection on Steam. This collection offers fans of the studio's earlier work an opportunity to revisit some of their best games.

As for Log Away, a cozy cabin builder from The-Mark Entertainment, it seems like just what we need after all that non-stop action โ€“ a relaxing game that lets us unwind and build our own dream cabins.

The upcoming Don't Stop, Girlypop! promises to be an anti-capitalist, hyper-pop influenced arena shooter with a unique aesthetic. Its demo is already looking promising, with a release date set for January 29 on Steam.

Lastly, there's Limbot, a party game that involves coordinating your movements as you navigate through a papercraft world using cardboard robots. With its potential for competitive gameplay and coordination between friends, we're eager to check it out when it hits Steam, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S sometime between April and June next year.

Zlin City: Arch Moderna is an upcoming diorama city builder that draws inspiration from historical events in the 1930s and '40s. With its stunningly textured visuals created using 3D printing, photogrammetry, and 3D scanning, this game promises to be a treat for gamers who appreciate attention to detail.

All of these titles offer something unique, so it's worth keeping an eye on them as they make their way onto the gaming scene.

idk why people still play old marvel games ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ, but i guess its cool that some indie devs are trying to bring back those retro vibes ๐Ÿ˜Ž. routine tho is giving me major 80s moon base feels and im here for it ๐Ÿ’ซ. tingus goose is a bit weird at first but might grow on u like a bad habit ๐Ÿคช. anyways, simogo's sayonara wild hearts collection is pretty sweet on steam ๐Ÿ‘Œ. cant wait to try out zlin city: arch moderna tho - that 3d printing is insane! ๐Ÿ“š

๐Ÿคฉ I'm super stoked about all these new indie games coming out! ๐ŸŽฎ They're like a breath of fresh air in the gaming world, and I love how they're experimenting with different genres and gameplay styles. Marvel Cosmic Invasion sounds like so much fun with its retro vibe, and Routine's survival horror aspect is giving me some serious nostalgia for old-school horror games ๐Ÿ˜ณ. And can we talk about Sleep Awake? Psychedelic horrors are my jam, and the fact that it's developed by a studio with such an interesting background is already making me excited ๐Ÿคช. I'm also loving Effulgence RPG's 3D ASCII art style - who needs photorealism when you can have pixel perfection? ๐Ÿ˜Ž And Simogo's Legacy Collection on Steam? Sign me up! It's great to see indie devs pushing the boundaries of what's possible in game design, and I'm excited to see how they'll continue to innovate. ๐Ÿ’ป

omg u gotta check out Marvel Cosmic Invasion ๐Ÿš€๐Ÿ’ฅ its retro style side-scrolling beat-'em-up is giving me major nostalgia vibes, and the fact that u can play as different characters with unique abilities is lit ๐Ÿ”ฅ i'm also low-key hyped for Routine and Sleep Awake they sound like such a chilling experience ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐ŸŒ™

I'm not sure why everyone's so hyped about Marvel Cosmic Invasion, gotta say it's just another beat-'em-up with some pretty basic gameplay mechanics ๐Ÿค”. Don't get me wrong, I love a good throwback, but is it really worth checking out? Routine's been in dev for 13 years and still not getting much attention... what's going on there? ๐Ÿ’ญ

I'm all about the indie scene, and Tingus Goose has my curiosity piqued - a cozy idle game with body horror elements? Sounds like an acquired taste ๐Ÿคฎ. And Effulgence RPG's 3D ASCII art style is definitely... something. I mean, who needs smooth graphics when you can have ASCII art, right?

Don't Stop, Girlypop!'s anti-capitalist vibe has me a bit skeptical - is it just another way to make a game edgy? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ And Log Away's cozy cabin builder sounds like the perfect antidote to all that fast-paced gaming we're always talking about. Can't wait to relax and build some virtual cabins ๐Ÿ

Zlin City: Arch Moderna, on the other hand... I don't know if I'm sold yet - those visuals sound kinda impressive, but is it just going to be a bunch of historical facts dumped into a game? ๐Ÿค”

idk if im excited or not about all these new indie games comin out ๐Ÿค”... i mean marv cosmic invasion sounds like a blast but its just a beat-em-up, ya know? ๐Ÿ˜ and then theres routine which is literally 13 years in the makin so that's kinda impressive lol. but on the flip side, sleep awake has that whole first-person psychedelic horror vibe goin on and thats straight up terrifying ๐Ÿค–

and tingus goose is an idle game? that sounds like a snooze fest to me ๐Ÿ˜ด... or maybe not, dunno? ๐Ÿ˜… effulgence rpg tho has some sick 3d ascii art goin on, but simogo's been around for ages so its not exactly new news ๐Ÿคฏ

log away just seems like every other cozy cabin builder game out there, but hey, sometimes thats all we need after a long day of gaming ๐Ÿ˜ด. and dont stop girlypop! sounds like it could be somethin special with that anti-capitalist vibe ๐Ÿค‘

but im still not convinced about limbot... i mean cardboard robots? ๐Ÿค– that just seems like too much effort for a game, but hey, if u into that sorta thing go for it ๐Ÿ‘ zlin city tho sounds pretty cool, all those historical events and 3d scanning tech is straight fire ๐Ÿ”ฅ

im just playing catch up here lol saw all these games being talked about and had to jump in ๐Ÿค” i'm loving the sound of Marvel Cosmic Invasion, sounds like a ton of fun to play with all those different characters. also routine looks super creepy and immersive, can't wait to try it out. not sure what to make of Tingus Goose though, body horror elements seem kinda off putting ๐Ÿ˜… but hey who knows maybe i'll get into it? have anyone else tried the Simogo legacy collection on steam yet?

omg I just got my new gaming PC ๐Ÿคฏ and I'm still trying to figure out how to use the thing lol is there a good guide online for newbies like me? ๐Ÿ˜‚ anyway back to these games, I'm so down for some retro-style side-scrolling beat-'em-up... has anyone played Marvel Cosmic Invasion yet? what's with all these horror games though? am i just getting old or what? ๐Ÿคช also, I've been meaning to ask, how do you even build a cozy cabin in a game if it's just sitting there looking pretty? ๐Ÿ˜Š

OMG, I'm so hyped about all these new indie games dropping soon! ๐Ÿคฉ It's like, finally some fresh faces in the gaming world and I love the variety of genres and gameplay styles here ๐ŸŽฎ. Marvel Cosmic Invasion sounds like a blast from the past (in the best way possible ๐Ÿ˜‚) and Routine's retro-futuristic vibe is giving me all the nostalgic feels ๐Ÿ’ฅ. And Sleep Awake's whole psychedelic horror thing has me intrigued to say the least... I mean, who doesn't love a good first-person puzzle? ๐Ÿคฏ Tingus Goose might seem confusing at first, but that's what makes it so interesting, right? ๐Ÿ˜ The ASCII art in Effulgence RPG is just stunning and Simogo's new collection of games is like a dream come true for fans. Log Away sounds like the ultimate relaxation game - who needs Fortnite when you can build cabins all day ๐Ÿ ? And Don't Stop, Girlypop!'s anti-capitalist vibe has me nodding in agreement ๐Ÿ’–. Can't wait to play Limbot with my squad and get lost in Zlin City's detailed diorama world ๐ŸŒ†
