UN agency reports rise in violence against women journalists and activists linked to online abuse

I'm really worried about the state of online safety for women in journalism and activism 🤕. The numbers are crazy - 3/4 of women in this field have faced violent online abuse, and it's gotten so bad that some people are being physically harmed because of it 😨. It's like, we're living in a time where our online presence can literally put us in harm's way. I think we need to get together as a global community and figure out ways to make the internet a safer space for these amazing women who are just trying to do their jobs 💻. We need more than just awareness campaigns - we need concrete action and policies that protect people from online abuse 🚨.

Ugh, I'm so worried about these women in the journalism community 🤕... it's just not right that they're facing this kind of abuse online and offline 😩. I mean, I was a teenager when YouTube first became a thing, and I remember seeing these crazy videos from people who thought they could get away with saying whatever they wanted without consequences 🙄. But now, it's like we've taken a step back in terms of civility and respect.

I think it's high time we take action to protect these women and create safer spaces for them to work and express themselves online 💻. It's not just about governments and organizations needing to do something – it's also about individuals being more considerate and empathetic towards others 🤝. We need to create a culture where people feel safe sharing their voices and perspectives without fear of retribution or harassment.

It's sad that we even have to be having this conversation in the first place 💔, but I guess that's just the world we live in now 😔. Still, I'm hopeful that we can make a difference and create a better future for these women and all the journalists and activists who are fighting for justice and truth 🌟
