Detroit Rep. Shri Thanedar Files Articles of Impeachment Against Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth Over Alleged War Crimes and Misconduct

US Representative Shri Thanedar has taken another bold step, filing articles of impeachment against US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth over allegations that the secretary ordered the killing of everyone on a Venezuelan drug smuggling boat in September, and discussed potential attacks on Yemen in a group chat in March.

The move comes as no surprise from Rep. Thanedar, who previously filed seven articles of impeachment against former President Donald Trump, including claims of corruption, obstruction of justice, and other high crimes and misdemeanors. For Thanedar, the issue is not just about Hegseth's actions, but also about the broader implications for national security and American lives.

"Pete Hegseth is uniquely unqualified to serve as Secretary of Defense," Thanedar said in a statement. "Every day he serves in this role, he puts American servicemembers and their families in danger." He added that Hegseth's actions, including issuing orders to kill civilians on a boat and mishandling classified information, are a clear breach of the Defense Department's Law of War Manual.

The articles of impeachment mark another attempt by Rep. Thanedar to hold high-ranking officials accountable for their actions. As a billionaire entrepreneur from the pharmaceutical industry and immigrant from India, Thanedar brings a unique perspective to the issue, one that is not often represented in Washington.

While Democratic Party leadership has discouraged attempts to impeach Hegseth, Rep. Thanedar remains undeterred. "In this country, we have presidents, not kings," he said earlier this year, when he first filed impeachment articles against Trump. Now, he's taking on another high-ranking official, one who wields significant power over national security.

The House Minority Leader has dismissed the possibility of impeaching Hegseth, stating that Republicans would block any attempt to bring him up for impeachment. However, Rep. Thanedar remains committed to holding Hegseth accountable, citing his own experiences with misconduct and corruption in Washington.

As the impeachment process continues, one thing is clear: Rep. Shri Thanedar will not be silenced on this issue. With a determination that borders on conviction, he's taking on the toughest challenges in Washington, from corrupt officials to national security threats.

I don't know how much more of this platform can take 🀯... seriously though, impeachment over alleged war crimes? It just seems like another way for Rep. Thanedar to get attention πŸ“£ and I'm not convinced it's about holding Hegseth accountable at all. Plus, can we talk about the logistics of filing impeachment articles against a SecDef who's got the President's back 🀝? This just smells like a power play to me πŸ’β€β™€οΈ... and don't even get me started on how this is gonna play out in the Senate 😬.

omg u no wat? detroit rep shree thanedar just filed articles of impeachment against pete hegseth 4 alledg war crimes & misconduct 🀯 like wut r they doin?! i think its about time someone held him accountable for puttin americans in danger πŸ’₯ and btw why cant democrats jus speak out already? its all so confusing πŸ™„ but shree thanedar is like the real deal, dont @ me 😎

I'm thinking about Pete Hegseth right now and my heart is heavy πŸ€•... it sounds like someone who was supposed to protect our country's servicemembers instead put them in harm's way. It's heartbreaking that Rep. Thanedar has to take on this alone, considering what he went through himself with corruption in Washington 🀯... I'm sending all my support to him and the families of those affected by Hegseth's actions πŸ’”

Umm... what's up with this guy Pete Hegseth? πŸ€” Like, didn't he used to run some war vet org or something? And now he's Defense Sec? That doesn't sound right. I mean, I'm not saying he's definitely guilty of war crimes or anything, but why is Rep Thanedar making such a big deal about this? Did Hegseth have to get approval from the government to sell more guns or something? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ And what's up with the whole thing with Venezuela and Yemen? Is it just coincidence that those places are like, super unstable right now? πŸŒͺ️ I'm not saying Rep Thanedar is crazy or anything (okay, maybe a little πŸ˜‰), but this whole thing feels fishy to me...

πŸ€” you know what's wild? have you ever tried making your own pizza from scratch? it's so much fun! πŸ• i was at this food festival last month and they had these amazing wood-fired pizzas that just melted in my mouth... anyway, back to Hegseth... i don't think we should be focusing on whether he's qualified or not, what about the fact that we have a whole system in place for addressing misconduct and corruption? πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ like, shouldn't we be working on that instead of just impeaching people left and right? πŸ“

idk why rep thanedar is doing this again πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ like what's next? impeach everyone? it seems like hes just trying to be a hero or something πŸ™„ anyway, i think its kinda cool that hes speaking out against pete hegseth tho. as someone who works in the military, it wouldnt sit right with me if someone was ordering civilians to get killed πŸ’” plus, its always good to have someone holding the sec def accountable πŸ‘Š

OMG, I'm low-key freaking out over this news!!! 🀯 Pete Hegseth is seriously under fire and I am HERE. FOR. IT πŸ’₯ As a rep who's already taken on Trump, I gotta respect Thanedar for not backing down πŸ™Œ Now we need to get the tea on how these allegations are gonna go down... is this gonna be a full-on investigation? πŸ€” We'll just have to keep it locked to see what happens next πŸ“ΊπŸ‘€

πŸ€” I'm calling BS on this whole thing. Rep. Thanedar filing articles of impeachment against SecDef Hegseth over alleged war crimes and misconduct seems like a total setup to me. I mean, what's next? Impeaching everyone in the Pentagon just because Rep. Thanedar had a bad day? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ I'm not saying Hegseth isn't guilty or that Thanedar doesn't have a point, but this feels like a classic case of politics-as-usual to me. The fact that Democrats are dismissing the whole thing as Republicans blocking it makes me even more skeptical πŸ™„. Can we get some real evidence and facts before we start throwing accusations around? πŸ’―

πŸ˜’ I'm so done with all these politicians playing by their own rules and ignoring human life! This guy Hegseth is literally getting away with murder (not just figuratively either). What's next? Ordering drone strikes on innocent civilians? 🚫 It's not about qualifications, it's about accountability. And Thanedar is the only one willing to take a stand. I'm rooting for him all the way! πŸ’ͺ
