'Can we have more comedies?': Armenian cinema processes trauma as country wrangles EU membership – and Trump

🤔 The EU membership is definitely on Armenia's mind right now, but have you guys ever noticed how little representation there is of Armenian comedies in mainstream cinema? It feels like we're stuck in a "serious" mode all the time. I think it would be amazing to see some light-hearted, feel-good movies about everyday life in Armenia 🤣. Would love to see more films that poke fun at our unique cultural quirks and traditions 😂. The Armenian diaspora is already sharing their stories, but what about us living in Armenia? Let's celebrate our silly side on the big screen 🎥

I'm just thinking, can't we have more comedies out there right now? I mean, with all the drama going on in Armenia, it's like the world needs a break from being so serious all the time 😂🤣. Just imagine if Tamara Stepanyan's My Armenian Phantoms was a comedy – would be hilarious! 🤪

Interesting 😊 this is so deep... I mean Armenia's trying to heal from trauma but also making movies about it, like what a way to show the world? And these films are all about love and freedom too, which is kinda inspiring 🤩. But at the same time, Armenia's still dealing with some big issues like relations with EU and Azerbaijan, so I guess that's why they're trying new things 🤔.
