Cinderella review – you shall go to the beach with this breezy seaside panto

Cinderella Panto Brings Sunshine to the Stage, Despite Some Cringe-Worthy Moments

In a sun-kissed panto that's as traditional as a turkey on Christmas Day, Cinderella comes alive with its colorful cast of characters. Set against the backdrop of the seaside town of Crabbington Sands, this production brings a breath of fresh air to the classic tale.

The show boasts an impressive ensemble, led by Aimee Leigh's breezy choreography and Joe Tracini's script. The comedic timing is spot on, with Owen Evans and Kenny Moore delivering hilarious performances as the wicked sisters Lou and Lav. Their outrageous outfits are a standout feature, complete with beach ball-shaped dresses and bucket-and-spade hats that are sure to raise a few eyebrows.

Georgia May Foote shines in the lead role of Cinderella, bringing a big sister vibe to her portrayal of the titular character. However, some may find her romance with Prince Buttons (Danny Hatchard) lacking spark. When it comes to panto staples, adults dabbling in youthful slang feels cringeworthy at times.

The production's set design is a treat, particularly during the "Shoe Must Go On" gameshow featuring the iconic slipper and a chorus of monks singing Ring My Bell. It's a moment that will leave you smiling long after the show has ended.

While the plot does pick up pace in the second half, some may find it lacks the grand climactic set piece one might expect from a traditional panto. Nonetheless, Andrew Lynford's warm and boisterous production leaves viewers with sore eyes and ringing ears – but also a lingering smile on their face.

Cinderella is currently running at Norwich Theatre Royal until January 4th. If you're looking for a lighthearted, fun-filled panto experience that will leave you feeling merry and bright, this might be the show for you.

omg i loved the beachy vibes in the set design especially with those monk guys singing ring my bell lol it felt like a mini vacation on stage but idk about georgia may foote's cinderella she kinda lost me in that romance thing between her and prince buttons i mean i get its panto spirit but sometimes adults do sound like theyre 15 again 😂 anyway overall its a great show if you wanna have a laugh without taking urself too seriously 👍

🌞 I was really pleasantly surprised by Cinderella Panto! The cast is super talented, especially Owen Evans & Kenny Moore as those wicked sisters - their outfits are just 😂💃. Georgia May Foote shines as Cinderella, but that romance with Prince Buttons feels a bit meh... like they're trying too hard to be relatable 🤦‍♀️. But overall, the set design is 🔥 and "Shoe Must Go On" is such a funny gag! I loved how warm & boisterous it all felt - it's just what panto needs! 🎉

I love how they brought the seaside vibes to Cinderella 🌊🎭! The cast is super talented, especially Owen Evans and Kenny Moore as those hilarious sisters 😂. I'm not a huge fan of adults trying to fit in with "youthful slang" though, it can feel a bit forced. But overall, it's a great show that'll leave you smiling for days 🌞! The set design is amazing, especially the monks singing Ring My Bell part 🎶. I'm definitely gonna check out the show at Norwich Theatre Royal when I get a chance 👍

Wow 🤩, I love how the set design in Cinderella Panto is so over-the-top and fun! Those beach ball-shaped dresses by Lou and Lav are hilarious 😂, and the "Shoe Must Go On" gameshow is a genius idea! 👏 The cast's energy is infectious too - it's clear they're all having a blast on stage. However, I can imagine some cringe-worthy moments for adults trying to keep up with the slang 🙈. Overall, it sounds like a super lighthearted and entertaining show that's perfect for panto fans! 😊

omg i just saw cinderella panto at norwich theatre royal 🎭😂 it was so much fun!!! the cast is like super talented esp aimee leigh's choreogphy is insane! 🤸‍♀️ georgia may foote as cinderella is perfect she's got that big sister vibe goin on tho maybe need more chemistry w prince buttons lol 😜 but those wicked sisters lou & lav are hilarious!!! their outfits are wild 🤪 beach ball dresses & bucket hats 🙄 and the set design is so colorful & fun esp that "shoe must go on" gameshow 🎉 it's like a party on stage 🎊

I'm worried about climate change tho 🌪️♂️...just saw a vid of rising sea levels flooding coastal towns like Crabbington Sands 🌊😱. They're staging a panto there but it's literally just a matter of time before the waters rise too high 👎. On the bright side, at least Aimee Leigh's choreography is on point 💃...and I guess some people are still putting on beach ball dresses and bucket hats 🤪...but what's next?

I dunno about all this fuss over Cinderella Panto 🤔... it sounds like it's got some cringeworthy moments, like those adults using youthful slang and wearing ridiculous outfits 🤣. And I'm not sure if I'd call it a grand climactic set piece just yet 🎭. But hey, who doesn't love a good panto with plenty of laughs and silly jokes? 😄 It's just that I've seen some other productions this year that have really wowed me with their creativity and originality 🤓. Maybe Cinderella Panto is more of a nostalgic treat for those who grew up on traditional pantos, but it doesn't blow me away or anything 💨.

lol I missed this one 🤦‍♀️ i loved the beach ball dresses tho 🌊 they're so extra! but seriously, Georgia May Foote's Cinderella was cute, even if it felt like she was trying too hard to be cool 😂 and don't even get me started on the monks singing Ring My Bell 🙄 it's like who thought that was a good idea? anyway, the set design was on point and i loved the energy of the whole thing 💃

The nostalgic charm of pantos never fails to bring a smile to my face 🌞! I mean, who doesn't love a good old-fashioned slapstick comedy with some wicked witches and dashing princes? The cast's energy is infectious, especially Owen Evans and Kenny Moore as the hilariously over-the-top Lou and Lav. Their beach ball dresses are a masterstroke – so bad they're good 😂. Georgia May Foote shines as Cinderella, but I'm not sure about her chemistry with Prince Buttons... maybe just me? 🤔 Overall, it's a fun night out that'll leave you feeling merry and bright 💃. The set design is top-notch, especially during the "Shoe Must Go On" bit – pure comedy gold! 👏

idk bout dis new cinderella panto tho 🤷‍♀️ its def got some funny momnts lol 😂 like wen those widd sisters come on stage in ther beach ball dresses lol 👗🏖️ but georgia may foote as cindy is ok imo shes got a big sister vibe goin on which is cool i guess but prince buttons romance is kinda weak idc 💁‍♀️ dan hatchard as prince buttons is pretty cool tho 👑 and thats that set design tho 🤩 the shoes game show is lit 🔥👠 and overall its just a fun panto experience dont expect it 2 b too serious lol 😂

I gotta say, I loved watching this Cinderella panto 🎭! The cast was on point, especially Aimee Leigh's choreo was fire 🔥. But, oh man, some of those outfits were straight out of a bad 80s music video 😂. Like, what's up with the beach ball dresses and bucket hats? It's like they took all the leftover props from a bad kids' birthday party and threw them on stage.

And don't even get me started on Prince Buttons... I mean, Danny Hatchard was cute and all, but their romance felt kinda meh 🙃. But hey, at least the monks singing Ring My Bell were hilarious 😂! That part had me laughing out loud!

The set design was pretty cool, especially during that "Shoe Must Go On" gameshow... it was like a weird mashup of American Idol and Monty Python 😂. And Andrew Lynford's energy as the director was infectious – he really knows how to bring the house down 🏠.

Overall, this panto was a fun ride from start to finish... even if some parts felt a bit cringeworthy 🤣. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a lighthearted holiday show 😊.

ooh i just loooove cinderella pantos!!! 🎭👸 they always bring back so many happy memories of watching with family during the holidays 😊🎄 the set design is just amazing, especially the "shoe must go on" bit 🤣 and i love how the actors play along with all the panto cliches, like the adults being awkwardly cheesy 😂👵🦰 but honestly, it's all part of the fun! 👏

🤦‍♀️ ugh I went to see Cinderella last week and I'm still cringing about those awful beach ball dresses 😳. like what were they thinking? can't they come up with something more original than just tacky touristy vibes? 🌴👗 also the lead actress's chemistry with prince buttons was so forced it felt like she was trying too hard to be cool 👀💁‍♀️

I love how they still bring out panto classics like "Shoe Must Go On" but with modern twists 🤣! And I'm surprised by how much I enjoyed Georgia May Foote as Cinderella - she's got a lot of charm. The comedic relief from Owen and Kenny had me giggling nonstop 😂. But, I have to agree that some of the dialogue did feel a bit forced or cheesy... I mean who talks like that in real life? 🙃 Still, it was a really fun show!

🤔 I gotta say, I'm still divided about this Cinderella panto thing 🎭. On one hand, it's definitely brought some sunshine to the stage 🌞, especially with its colorful cast of characters. Aimee Leigh's choreography and Joe Tracini's script have really paid off here. But, on the other hand, I did find some parts a bit cringeworthy 😳, like when adults try to use modern slang in panto 😂.

The lead actress, Georgia May Foote, is actually pretty great as Cinderella 👑, but her romance with Prince Buttons could've been more convincing 💕. And what's up with the "Shoe Must Go On" gameshow? 🤣 I loved it though! The set design was fire 🔥 and Andrew Lynford's warm energy really made the show special ❤️.

Overall, it's a lighthearted and fun experience that's perfect for those looking to forget their worries and just have a laugh 😄. Would I see it again? Maybe 🤷‍♀️, but only if they make some changes to the plot 📝. What do you guys think about Cinderella panto? 👇

I'm not sure what's more surprising - how much I enjoyed this cinderella pantomime or how cringeworthy some parts were 😂. I mean, who thought it was a good idea to have beach ball dresses and bucket-and-spade hats in a panto? But hey, the cast is clearly talented, especially Aimee Leigh's choreography 🌟. I loved Georgia May Foote as Cinderella - she's got this big sister energy that's just infectious 💖. And let's be real, Danny Hatchard's Prince Buttons is basically the most boring prince ever 😴. Still, the set design is amazing, especially during those monk singing moments 🎶. I think what really matters here is that it's a lighthearted, fun experience - perfect for a night out with friends or family 👫. Worth checking out if you're in Norwich until Jan 4th!

man i saw this panto like 3 yrs ago lol it's still pretty funny how they try to make it feel all youthful with that slang 🤣 but seriously the cast is so talented, especially aimee leigh's choreo was fire 🔥 and georgia may foote as cinderella was alright i guess, didn't really see much chemistry between her and prince buttons though 👀 also that monk chorus in the shoe gameshow was like 😂😂😂
