3 recent high school grads accused of sex assault in Roselle facing additional charges

Three high school graduates accused of gang-raping a classmate at a party in Roselle are facing even more charges. Kevin Niemiec, Jon Clary II, and Zachary Mascolo, all 18 years old, were indicted last month on charges of kidnapping, unlawful restraint, and aggravated criminal sexual abuse.

The men allegedly confined the 18-year-old woman against her will and prevented her from leaving a minivan where the assaults took place. The charges stem from an incident in December at a party hosted by the men, who are also St. Viator High School alumni.

Niemiec was arraigned Monday and pleaded not guilty. He is being held in jail with a Feb. 9 court date scheduled for his case. Clary II and Mascolo have pretrial releases pending their Jan. 27 court appearances.

All three men face up to 30 years in prison if convicted of the most serious charges against them. The women have claimed that they were victims of a gang rape, according to law enforcement officials.

omg i cant believe this is happening ๐Ÿคฏ... i mean idk what i would do if something like this happened at my school... i guess everyone should be super careful when it comes to parties lol... did u know that roselle has a really cool park btw? anyhoo, 30 years in prison sounds like a looong time ๐Ÿ•ฐ๏ธ... hope they get the help they need ๐Ÿ‘

Ugh, this is just so disturbing ๐Ÿค• I mean, can you even believe these guys thought it was okay to do what they did to someone like that? I'm all for holding people accountable, but 30 years in prison seems kinda harsh to me... I know the girl's victims are strong and they deserve justice ๐Ÿ’ช. It's just weird how this happened at a high school party too ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ. The girls should be totally okay with that punishment, but it's still not good enough for some people ๐Ÿ˜”. Can't we all just get along and respect each other? ๐Ÿค

can you imagine being trapped in a minivan with someone u dont want anything 2 do 2 u?? its wild how some ppl think they can just do watever & get away w/it ๐Ÿคฏ these guys r lucky they got caught already, all those yrs in prison wd b way too easy for them ๐Ÿ˜ก

"You can't separate people from their humanity." This case just breaks my heart, it's so senseless. Three high school graduates think it's okay to do this to someone else? It's disgusting and not okay at all. I'm glad that the authorities are taking this seriously and holding them accountable. But honestly, how can we prevent these things from happening in the first place? We need to create a culture where people respect each other's boundaries and feel safe.

๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ Ugh, can't believe how this case is being handled ๐Ÿ™„. I mean, what's up with all these high school graduates getting charged as adults? 18 years old? That's insane! ๐Ÿ˜ฒ It feels like the system is just rushing to judgment without even considering the context of the situation. Did we really need to throw three 18-year-olds in jail for this?

And can we talk about how outdated the charges are? Aggravated criminal sexual abuse? Kidnapping and unlawful restraint? These aren't new crimes, folks! ๐Ÿค” They've been on the books forever. Can't they just give these guys a break and send them to some sort of rehabilitation program instead of throwing them in the slammer?

I'm not saying the victims didn't get hurt or anything, but do we really need to make an example out of three high school graduates who are still figuring out their lives? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ It just seems like a huge waste of resources and time. Can't we focus on rehabilitating them instead of punishing them? ๐Ÿคž

omg i just saw the cutest video of a puppy doing tricks on tiktok ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿ˜‚ and it totally made me think of how our high school days are like that too you know? everyone's trying to figure out who they are and what they want, and sometimes things get weird. anyway back to this story... i feel bad for the girls involved but at least the guys are facing charges now ๐Ÿคž let's hope justice is served soon ๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™‚๏ธ

๐Ÿ˜” I'm thinking about that poor girl who went through all this... it's just heartbreaking to think she was trapped and assaulted like that. It's not right that three guys would do something so sick to another human being, especially someone they knew from school. ๐Ÿค• The fact that they're all still 18 is crazy to me, I wish we could have prevented this kind of thing from happening in the first place. ๐Ÿšซ Let's just hope justice is served and these guys get the help they need... not just prison time, but real support for their own healing too โค๏ธ

omg this is just so sad ๐Ÿค•๐Ÿ˜ข i cant even believe what happened to that poor girl... these guys sound like total monsters ๐Ÿšซ๐Ÿ‘Š the fact that they thought it was okay to hold her against her will and do those things to her is just disgusting ๐Ÿ˜ท anyone who does something like that deserves the max time in prison ๐Ÿ’ฅ it's so good that the police are taking this seriously and going after them hard ๐Ÿ’ช i just wish we could send a strong message to everyone out there that this kind of behavior wont be tolerated ever โš ๏ธ

๐Ÿš” I'm really concerned about this whole situation and how it makes me feel like we're living in a world where consent is being thrown out the window ๐Ÿคข. These guys are only 18 and yet they're facing charges that could land them up to 30 years in prison if convicted. It's just not right that they get to decide who gets to be victimized and who doesn't. The fact that they allegedly confined a woman against her will and then assaulted her is totally unacceptable ๐Ÿšซ. We need to make sure that we're teaching these young men about consent and respect for others, especially when it comes to sex and relationships ๐Ÿ’–.

Man, these cases just break my heart ๐Ÿค•... like, what's going on with our society? We're living in a world where three guys can feel empowered enough to take advantage of someone who's just trying to have fun at a party? It's crazy how much entitlement and toxic masculinity we're still dealing with. And the fact that these guys are all friends from high school, it's like they thought they were above the law or something. But here's the thing, it's not about the punishment, it's about the prevention... can't we just create a culture where everyone feels safe and respected? Like, how do we raise our boys to be men who understand consent and respect for others? It's deep stuff, but someone's gotta ask these questions ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ’ก

This is soooo disturbing ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ’” I mean, what's going on with some guys doing this kind of thing? They're not even thinking about how their actions can hurt someone so badly... and it's not just the physical pain, but also the emotional trauma they'll be dealing with for years to come ๐Ÿค•. I'm all about celebrating life and having a good time, but you never know who's going to cross that line ๐Ÿ˜ณ. The fact that these guys are facing up to 30 years in prison is a great start, though ๐Ÿ’ฏ! Hopefully, it sends a message that this kind of behavior won't be tolerated and will help prevent others from getting caught up in the same situation ๐Ÿšซ. Anyway, I'm just glad that some amazing young women were able to speak out and get justice for themselves... they're total rockstars ๐Ÿ’ช!

This is so messed up ๐Ÿค•... I mean, can't even imagine what the victim went through at that party. Three high school graduates thinking they're above the law by organizing some sort of twisted gang activity? It's just not right. ๐Ÿ˜ก The fact that one of them (Niemiec) already pleaded not guilty but is still behind bars shows how serious this case is. The thought of those three 18-year-olds holding someone down and doing unspeakable things to her... it's just heartbreaking ๐Ÿค”. I hope justice is served and they get the punishment they deserve.

Ugh, I'm so done with these party features ๐Ÿšซ๐ŸŽ‰. Can't we just ban parties altogether? I mean, what's the point of having fun when you can end up being a victim of a serious crime like this? And the fact that it happened at a school party is just wild ๐Ÿ˜ฑ. The 30-year prison sentence for these guys better be real ๐Ÿคž. It's not enough, tbh ๐Ÿ’”. We need to start taking responsibility for our actions and making sure we're respecting each other's boundaries ๐Ÿ™. No more parties without a solid plan in place ๐Ÿ“.

This is getting too weird... ๐Ÿค” I mean, think about it - these guys are friends, classmates even! How likely is it that all three of them are in on some deep conspiracy? Like, what's the real story here? Was this girl, like, a threat to their status or something? And why did they target her at this party? It's not just about a random gang rape, there's gotta be more to it. I'm not saying these guys are innocent, but come on... ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ What really went down that night?

Ugh, I'm so torn about this... I mean, these guys are literally monsters for what they did to that girl ๐Ÿคฏ. But at the same time, can we really say that a bunch of high school kids who made some questionable choices deserve 30 years in prison? Like, have you seen their faces? They're barely out of puberty! ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ And isn't it kind of harsh to throw the book at them for something they did while under the influence and peer pressure? I don't know... maybe they'll grow up from this experience? ๐Ÿ˜•.

๐Ÿค• This is so disturbing... I don't understand how this can happen in our country. These guys are supposed to be high school graduates and should know better. It's just not right that they're facing even more charges on top of the ones they already have. What kind of party is it where people let their friends take advantage of someone like that? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ I don't think it's about being "parties" or having fun, it's about respecting each other and knowing our boundaries. It's not okay to take advantage of someone who can't say no. The fact that they're facing up to 30 years in prison if convicted is good news for the victim, but I hope they also get some real help and support to deal with what happened to them ๐Ÿ’”

๐Ÿค• this makes me really sad and angry at the same time you know its just a bunch of young dudes acting like total animals thinking they can just do whatever they want and hurt someone who cant even fight back its all about being aware of our surroundings and supporting each other if u see or hear anything suspicious dont hesitate to speak up, everyone deserves respect and safety

๐Ÿค• u can't imagine the fear & trauma these girls went thru... i feel so bad for them ๐Ÿค— it's wild how some guys think they're above the law just 'cause they're in high school or have connections ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ 18 yrs old is way too young to be expected to navigate those kinds of situations on their own... where r we supposed 2 be taking responsibility 4 our young ppl? ๐Ÿ™„

Ugh, what's wrong with these guys? They're all just a bunch of entitled rich kids who think they can do whatever they want and get away with it. I mean, 30 years in prison is definitely a stiff sentence, but come on, should they even be facing that for this kind of thing? It seems like just another case of privileged kids being given special treatment... ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿšซ
