A beginner's guide to Arc Raiders: what it is and how you start playing

Arc Raiders: A Beginner's Guide to This Thrilling Online Shooter

For those who have managed to stay under their rock since the release of Arc Raiders in October, a quick rundown is necessary. This extraction shooter has taken the world by storm, with over 12 million copies sold in just three months and attracting an impressive player base alongside established games like Counter-Strike 2 and Apex Legends.

What makes Arc Raiders so appealing? The game takes place on a post-apocalyptic Earth where a robotic alien invasion force known as Arc has ravaged the planet. Players take on the role of raiders, venturing into ruins to scavenge for valuable items and resources while avoiding deadly android guards patrolling the skies.

Unlike other extraction shooters, which often feature more aggressive gameplay, Arc Raiders allows players to form alliances with others or ignore them altogether. With a few pre-set phrases to shout or using a mic to chat with strangers, the game offers a unique social experience that sets it apart from its competitors.

So what's your starting point? The game is available on PC, Xbox, and PS5, and I'd recommend investing in a gaming headset to chat with other players. Customise your character, and start by exploring the Dam Battlegrounds map until you've gained more experience.

To get started, focus on collecting everything โ€“ useful resources like wires and springs can be used to craft items later, while rare goods like toasters and radios can be sold or recycled for scrap. Prioritize upgrading your workstations to become self-sufficient as soon as possible.

In terms of gameplay strategy, it's essential to understand the game's skill tree and how to utilise each branch effectively. Conditioning skills focus on stamina, Mobility focuses on agility, while Survival focuses on stealth. Invest in guns that excel against both Arc enemies and other players, as well as essential items like bandages, shield rechargers, and adrenaline shots.

When exploring new maps, take advantage of the game's free load-out option to familiarise yourself with the area without risking valuable equipment. And most importantly, be kind to other raiders โ€“ aggressive behavior can lead to being matched with hostile players, but helping others often leads to a more positive experience and rewards in the form of items.

With its engaging gameplay, stylish retro-futuristic visuals, and addictive sound effects, Arc Raiders is an online shooter that's definitely worth exploring. With these tips and some practice under your belt, you'll be well on your way to becoming a top raider in no time.

I'm so sick of all these games being released every week ๐Ÿ˜’, I mean what's wrong with people? Can't they just take a break for once?! ๐Ÿ™„ Arc Raiders just seems like another shallow attempt at creating a viral hit, but you know what? It actually kinda has some charm to it ๐Ÿ’•. The post-apocalyptic setting is pretty cool and the gameplay is surprisingly engaging ๐Ÿ‘. I love how it lets you form alliances or not, it's like they're trying to create a community aspect that's actually enjoyable ๐Ÿค. And those retro-futuristic visuals are straight fire ๐Ÿ”ฅ! But what really gets me is that people are already getting all worked up over this game ๐Ÿคฏ, like it's the most important thing since sliced bread ๐Ÿž. Can't we just take a deep breath and enjoy something new for once? ๐Ÿ˜Ž

omg I'm still trying to figure out how to play arc raiders lol I was playing with my friends for like an hour and we all died 5 times because we didn't know what we were doing yet ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ anyway I think the best part is forming alliances, it's so much fun chatting with other players in real time ๐Ÿ˜ and btw has anyone found any good ways to get those rare goods? like where can you find toasters and radios? I've been searching the whole Dam Battlegrounds map but nothing ๐Ÿค”

I'm so hyped about this new game, Arc Raiders ๐Ÿคฏ! I've played it with friends and we're all loving the post-apocalyptic setting and how we can form alliances or go solo ๐Ÿ’ป. The gameplay is super addictive and I love how you can scavenge for resources and craft new stuff ๐Ÿ”ง. What really gets me though is how friendly the community is - I was matched with some noobs at first but we helped each other out and now we're like a team ๐Ÿ‘ซ. The only thing that's kinda confusing is all these skill trees and how to use them... anyone have any tips on that? ๐Ÿ˜‚

Wow ๐Ÿคฉ I just got into this game and it's soooo good! Interesting how they made it more social than other shooters, like you can just ignore other players or team up with them ๐Ÿ˜‚. And the different skill trees are really cool, I spent hours figuring out my best combo for stamina and agility.

I'm totally stoked about this new game Arc Raiders ๐Ÿคฉ. I mean, who doesn't love the idea of raiding abandoned buildings on a post-apocalyptic Earth? It's like something straight out of a movie! ๐Ÿ˜Ž The fact that you can form alliances or ignore other players altogether adds a whole new level of strategy to the game.

I've played a few extraction shooters before, but this one feels different. Maybe it's the retro-futuristic vibes or the way the game sounds - it's like music to my ears ๐ŸŽต! But seriously, I think what sets Arc Raiders apart is its focus on social interaction and teamwork. It's all about building a community of raiders who work together to survive.

I'm excited to dive in and explore the different maps, complete with their own set of challenges and objectives. And the tips you provided are super helpful - I especially like the idea of using the free load-out option to get familiar with new areas without risking my equipment.

Overall, I think Arc Raiders has all the ingredients to become a top-notch online shooter. With its engaging gameplay, stylish visuals, and addictive sound effects, it's definitely worth checking out... especially if you're into extraction shooters like me! ๐Ÿ’ฅ

I'm so stoked about this game ๐Ÿคฉ! I mean, who doesn't love the idea of surviving on a post-apocalyptic Earth with robotic aliens trying to kill you? It's like something out of a sci-fi movie ๐Ÿ’ฅ. And the best part is that it's actually really fun and social - I've already made some awesome friends playing with my squad ๐Ÿ‘ซ. We team up, raid together, and even help each other out when we're getting wiped out ๐Ÿ˜…. My only tip would be to keep an eye on those skill trees - you want to level up your survivability ASAP so you can handle all the craziness that comes with Arc Raiders ๐Ÿ’ช.

omg u guys i just started playing arc raiders and its sooo much fun!!! ๐Ÿคฏ the game is like super immersive with all the ruins and the androids and stuff... and the community is actually really nice too, people are nice and helpful even when u r new like me lol. i love that u can make ur own alliances or just ignore ppl if u want, its like a big multiplayer thingy. anyway i got stuck on dam battlegrounds for ages but then i found this super useful trick - u can use the free loadout option to scout out maps before u start playing so u know what u r getting into... and dont even get me started on the skill tree lol its like u gotta level up ur character and find the right branch for u or else u will die a lot... but overall i really like it!

I remember playing old-school shooters like Team Fortress 2 ๐Ÿคฃ, but this Arc Raiders game is like nothing I've seen before! The whole robotic alien invasion thing is kinda cool ๐Ÿ˜Ž, and the idea of forming alliances or going solo is really interesting. I'd totally get lost in those post-apocalyptic ruins trying to scavenge for resources ๐Ÿ”๏ธ.

The gameplay strategy part sounds a bit overwhelming, but I guess that's what makes it exciting ๐Ÿ˜…. I love how you mentioned being kind to other players โ€“ in my day, we just called it "good sportsmanship" ๐Ÿค. And omg, the sound effects are so catchy! It's like they took a mix of old-school video games and anime soundtracks ๐ŸŽต.

I'm not sure if I'd play this game for hours on end or get bored after 5 minutes ๐Ÿ˜ด, but it's definitely worth checking out for all you gamers out there ๐Ÿ’ป. Maybe I'll even join a raid team or two ๐Ÿค!

omg i remember playing arc raiders back in the day with my friends ๐Ÿคฉ we were all so hyped when it came out! lol i was that guy who kept getting matched with hostile players and would rage quit every 5 minutes ๐Ÿ˜‚ but seriously, the game is so much fun once you get the hang of it. i loved the whole scouting and scavenging vibe, and the fact that you can form alliances or just go solo is so cool ๐Ÿ‘ซ๐Ÿ‘Š i also super love the customization options for your character - there's this one toaster item that's literally the coolest thing ever ๐Ÿคฃ what's your fave thing about arc raiders?

๐Ÿคฉ just played Arc Raiders for the first time and I'm OBSESSED! ๐Ÿ˜ the game has such a cool vibe, all this post-apocalyptic stuff with robots and survival elements is so fresh! ๐Ÿ‘ฝ i loved how you can form alliances or go solo, it adds this whole new layer to the gameplay. ๐Ÿ‘ซ also the maps are insane, Dam Battlegrounds is my fave so far. ๐Ÿข I've been spending hours just exploring and collecting resources, trying out all these different guns and crafting items. ๐Ÿ’ฅ one thing that really stands out is how easy it is to get into, even as a noob like me! ๐Ÿ˜… the community seems super chill too, everyone's being friendly and helpful, which is awesome. ๐Ÿ‘

lol what's next gonna be a tutorial on how 2 breathe or something? like seriously who thought it was a good idea 2 create an entire game around raiding & scavenging... sounds so basic ๐Ÿคฏ. and dont even get me started on the whole "be kind to other raiders" thing, like who do u know who's gonna be friendly online? ๐Ÿ˜’

๐Ÿค” I'm so hyped about this new game, Arc Raiders! ๐Ÿš€ It sounds like a total blast, especially with the post-apocalyptic setting and the ability to form alliances or ignore others altogether. I love that they're focusing on teamwork and communication, using mic chat and pre-set phrases to interact with other players. ๐Ÿ‘ฅ It's a great change of pace from more competitive games out there.

I'm also really intrigued by the skill tree system - it sounds like there are so many ways to play and customize your character. ๐ŸŽฎ I'm definitely down for exploring new maps and finding all the hidden resources, too. ๐Ÿ’ก And that tip about being kind to other raiders? Absolutely true! ๐Ÿ˜Š I think it's so important to create a positive community in games.

Overall, Arc Raiders seems like an amazing addition to the online shooter genre, and I'm excited to dive in and try it out for myself. ๐ŸŽฎ

I'm loving how quickly Arc Raiders has taken off ๐Ÿš€! As a gamer myself, I can see why it's so appealing - the combination of exploration, scavenging, and strategic gameplay is pure gold ๐Ÿ’Ž. The fact that you can form alliances or play solo is a great touch, making the game feel more social than some other shooters out there. I'm also a big fan of how customizable your character is, it really adds to the overall experience ๐Ÿ˜Š. But what I think sets Arc Raiders apart is its unique take on communication - using pre-set phrases or mics to chat with others creates this whole new layer of camaraderie and teamwork that's so refreshing ๐Ÿค. Can't wait to dive in myself and see how far I can make it! ๐Ÿ’ฅ

๐Ÿค– I'm tellin' ya, this game's got it all! The post-apocalyptic setting's so cool, like something outta Fallout or Killzone. And the AI's so clever, those androids are like nothin' I've seen before ๐Ÿค–๐Ÿ˜ฑ. But what really gets me is the social aspect โ€“ bein' able to team up with others and chat in real-time using voice comms is just so much more immersive than playin' solo all day ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ.

Now, I'm not gonna lie, it took me a few tries to get used to this skill tree business... but once I figured it out, man, it was like unlockin' the secrets of a new level! Conditioning, mobility, survival โ€“ each branch's got its own unique playstyle, and you gotta use 'em wisely if you wanna make it in this harsh world ๐Ÿ’ช.

And can we talk about them maps? Dam Battlegrounds is like nothin' I've ever seen before ๐ŸŒณ. So many hiding spots, so much loot... it's like a treasure hunt, man! Just watch out for those hostile players and keep your wits about you ๐Ÿ‘€.

Anyway, if you haven't checked this game out yet, what are ya waitin' for? Trust me, it's worth the hype ๐Ÿ˜Ž.

I've been playing this game nonstop since the release ๐Ÿคฏ๐Ÿ”ซ I love how it lets you play with or against others, it adds such a social layer that's super underrated in games these days. The post-apocalyptic setting is so cool and the soundtrack is catchy ๐Ÿ˜Ž also, gotta say, I'm loving the customization options for your character... been trying out all sorts of wild outfits ๐Ÿคช

I'm still trying to wrap my head around this whole gaming thing... I mean, 12 million copies sold in three months? That's crazy! ๐Ÿคฏ I remember when we first got into online multiplayer games like Halo and Call of Duty back in the day, it was a whole different ball game. We had to wait for patches just to fix bugs, let alone get new content.

I'm not really sure what to make of this Arc Raiders game though... I mean, post-apocalyptic Earth with robots? Sounds like something out of a sci-fi movie or something. But hey, if it's got people excited and they're willing to spend hours playing it, then more power to 'em! ๐Ÿ’ช

I do hope they don't get too carried away with the microtransactions though... that's just gonna be a whole different can of worms. And what's up with all these different skill trees? Sounds like a whole other game in itself... ๐Ÿค”
