AIPAC Donors Fail to Elect Last-Minute New Jersey House Pick

Pro-Israel donors who previously supported rival candidate Tom Malinowski have now funneled millions of dollars into the campaign of New Jersey's newly elected Representative Tahesha Way. This sudden influx of funds, totaling $53,000 in donations from 30 groups including the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) and its super PAC, has bolstered Way's campaign with just weeks to go until the election.

These contributions were made by a diverse group of donors who have also given to other Republican candidates. The majority came on January 14th in what appears to be an organized fundraising push from outside groups. Peter Langerman, a retired investor, gave $75,000 to AIPAC's United Democracy Project since 2023 and $12,000 since 2022.

Tahesha Way initially trailed Tom Malinowski in the Democratic primary by a considerable margin. However, following this surge of pro-Israel contributions, her campaign now stands at just under $4 million compared to Malinowski's $1.1 million.

Analilia Mejia and Zach Beecher are among the candidates competing for the New Jersey 11th Congressional seat left vacant after Mikie Sherrill was elected governor.

I'm low-key weirded out by this whole thing πŸ€”. It seems like some big donors just swooped in to help Tahesha Way's campaign out of nowhere. Like, what's the real strategy here? Is it just about pro-Israel influence or is there something more going on? I mean, it's a pretty massive swing for her campaign... does that even make sense? Shouldn't we be questioning who's really behind this money?

I'm kinda sure that this is a big mistake on Way's part... I mean, who just takes money from pro-Israel groups? πŸ€‘ It sounds like she's trying to buy her way into office or something. But at the same time, it's like, maybe she's actually doing what she thinks is right and just happens to have some cool donors backing her up? πŸ€” Either way, I think this whole thing is kinda shady... wait, no, maybe I'm just being paranoid πŸ˜’

omg u wont believe what just went down in NJ!!! so these pro-israel donors who were all about to go with tom malinowski now switched ship and poured in millions of dollars into tahesha way's campaign lol it looks like tahesha is now the one who got a major boost πŸ€‘πŸ’Έ and her campaign just surpassed malinowski's by like, 3x!!! i gotta say, this sudden turn of events has me shook but at the same time... kinda excited to see how this all plays out πŸ’₯

πŸ€‘πŸ’ΈπŸ˜‚ Tahesha Way just got a major boost from pro-Israel donors who were previously supporting Tom Malinowski πŸ€”! Like, what's next? Will they start donating to the pizza party too? πŸ•πŸ‘€

so this is wild, right? pro-Israel donors who were supporting a different candidate suddenly switch teams and pour millions into tahesha way's campaign πŸ€‘ it's like they're trying to pull off some kind of last-minute Houdini trick. don't get me wrong, i'm happy for way and all, but it feels super suspicious that these donations are coming in now, just before the election. you can't help but wonder if there's more to this story than meets the eye πŸ€”

What's up with these pro-Israel donors just throwing their weight behind Way like that? πŸ€‘ I mean, we get it, she's a moderate democrat and they might feel comfortable with her stance on Israel... but $53k from AIPAC and friends in one day? That's some serious clout! And what about Malinowski, who was running neck and neck with her just weeks ago? It's like he got ghosted. Is it just that these donors didn't like his views or did they see something in Way that we don't? Either way, this is getting super interesting...

omg like what's goin on with tahesha way?? she literally went from nowhere to almost beatin' malinowski lol! i got nothin against israel or jews but its kinda weird that these pro-israel groups are fundin her campaign now that malinowski isnt runnin anymore. dont get me wrong way is prob a cool person and all but i feel like this might be a bit suspicious? maybe its just the timing tho πŸ€‘πŸ‘€

I'm seeing this and I gotta say, the layout of this article is all over the place πŸ˜’. It's like they're trying to cram as much info in there as possible without thinking about how it looks. "Newly elected Representative Tahesha Way" should be a headline, not just a sentence buried under some other stuff. And what's up with the lack of clear dates? January 14th doesn't make sense if we don't know what year that is πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ. Can't they at least get that right? Anyway, I'm all for Tahesha Way getting her campaign a boost, but come on, organization, people! πŸ’Έ

I don't get why pro-Israel donors are throwing their weight behind Tahesha Way, especially since she didn't exactly win by a landslide in that primary... πŸ€” I mean, I guess it's good for the campaign bankroll or whatever, but seems like they're trying to buy some influence πŸ’Έ

I think its kinda cool that Tahesha Way's campaign got a boost from those pro-Israel donors, you know? Its not like they're trying to buy her vote or anything 😊. I mean, if they're just looking to support someone who shares their values, why not? Plus, its not like Tom Malinowski was getting any less funding from other groups anyway... it all just kinda levels out in the end. And honestly, Tahesha Way seems like a solid candidate - shes got a lot of experience and her policies are pretty centrist, so I can see how pro-Israel donors might vibe with that. πŸ€”

Ugh, I'm so done with these online platforms 🀯. Can't we just get rid of these super PACs already? It's like they're buying influence and it's getting ridiculous πŸ˜’. And the fact that Tahesha Way only needed a little push from pro-Israel donors to catch up with Tom Malinowski is just wild πŸ’Έ. I mean, what even is the point of an election if it's just gonna be bought by big money? πŸ€‘ It's like, can't we trust our politicians to make decisions for us anymore? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ And don't even get me started on how easy it is to hide donations and not have to disclose them... it's like they're hiding something 😳. Anyway, I guess that's the state of politics now πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ. Can someone please just explain to me why online platforms can't do a better job of curating decent discussions instead of hosting echo chambers? πŸ€”

I'm so done with these backroom deals πŸ™„! It's like, can't we just have a fair election around here? This pro-Israel money pour-in is sketchy at best. What's going on with Peter Langerman donating to AIPAC and then suddenly giving that much cash to Tahesha Way? Is he trying to influence the outcome or what? πŸ€‘ And what about Tom Malinowski, the original candidate? He's basically been left in the dust because of this organized fundraising push. It's just not right, you know? πŸ˜’

Just got this news and I'm like 🀯! These pro-Israel donors switching teams from Tom Malinowski to Tahesha Way is a whole new level of crazy fundraising tactics πŸ€‘πŸ‘€. It's not surprising, though - AIPAC has been super active in supporting Republicans lately πŸ’Ό. Way's campaign just got a huge boost with all that cash pouring in πŸ’ΈπŸ’ͺ. I'm curious to see how this plays out now that she's got nearly $4 million compared to Malinowski's $1.1 million πŸ“ˆ. Not sure what's going on behind the scenes, but one thing's for sure - these donors are making it interesting πŸ‘Š #TaheshaWay #AIPAC #ElectionNews #FundingMatters

πŸ€” so tahesha way just gets a bunch of israeli cash to close the gap with malinowski, nice move by pro-israel groups... not πŸ€‘ like anyone's surprised it took them this long to swoop in though. also, interesting that these donors came from both parties - guess you could say they're trying to make friends? 🀝 anyway, now way's campaign is all but guaranteed with that sweet $53k infusion πŸ’Έ

omg this is crazy how one group of people can donate so much money to just a few ppl running in an election? πŸ€‘ like I get that supporting Israel is important but 53k to one person? seems fishy to me... and what's with the donors all giving at the same time? January 14th sounds like a pretty coordinated effort...
