Father's dying wish renews urgency in unsolved 2019 Liz Barraza murder

Time is Running Out to Uncover Truth Behind Liz Barraza's Slaughter Seven Years Later

As the anniversary of Liz Barraza's brutal murder approaches, her father Robert Nuelle says he has only a short time left and is desperate for justice to be served. The 29-year-old was shot and killed in January 2019 outside her home, where she was preparing for a garage sale. Her parents have spent years pleading for information, but the case remains unsolved.

Nuelle himself is now facing a terminal diagnosis with stage four esophageal cancer that has spread to various parts of his body. The once-thin man has lost 150 pounds and relies on a feeding tube, but despite his declining health, he remains resolute in his determination to find out who killed his daughter.

"It's in God's hands," Nuelle says, "but I want people to see the bar is raised. There is a sense of urgency. I have a sense of urgency." The difference between then and now is stark – what once swallowed him has now become unrecognizable.

The case remains a source of frustration for investigators, who believe that Liz's murder was carefully planned. With no clear motive or reason for the targeted killing, it appears to be a complex case with little evidence pointing to her killer. The only clue being a dark-colored Nissan Frontier spotted in the neighborhood on the day of the murder.

Despite numerous pleas from the family and investigators, there is still no one behind bars. Harris County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Michael Ritchie says that technology will play a key role in cracking the case, but he also acknowledges that someone must know something about the crime.

The Nuelle family is counting on this – they have put up a $50,000 Crime Stoppers reward for information leading to an arrest. And for Bob Nuelle, his one wish remains simple: "If you ever needed to pull on your heartstrings... A 67-year-old man dying and not knowing who shot his daughter."

For those with any information about Liz Barraza's murder, the door is open – contact Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS (8477) or submit a tip online anonymously.

🤔 Can't believe no one has cracked this case yet? I mean, what kinda system allows someone to get away with this? Nuelle's right, the bar's gotta be raised and people need to step up! 💪 67 years old and still no answers? That's just not fair. The investigators are saying tech will help, but come on, we're living in the 21st century already! 🤖 What's taking so long?! And the fact that there's only a dark-colored Nissan Frontier as the only clue... 🚗 yeah, that's not exactly rocket science. But I guess when you've got someone like Nuelle who's basically giving up his last breath, it makes the case even more urgent. 🤕 Someone needs to step in here and help this family get some answers! 💔

🤕 my heart goes out to the Nuelle family 🙏 they've been through so much already and now they're facing this incredibly tough time with their dad's health decline... it's just not fair that justice hasn't been served yet 😔 Liz's murder was senseless & tragic, and I'm sure it's eating away at her parents every single day 💔 the fact that there's still no lead is frustrating for everyone involved 🤯 but let's keep a positive vibe going - if anyone has any info, PLEASE come forward & help bring some closure to this family 🌟 they deserve it!

man this is a total bummer 🤕... i feel bad for robert nuelle he's going thru so much and he just wants justice for his daughter liz it's like, the system should be able to catch a killer that's been in plain sight for 7 years already 🙄... but at least crime stoppers is offering a pretty big reward, maybe someone will come forward with some info 🤑... i don't think nuelle himself should have to die before they find out who did this tho he's still got heart and a strong sense of determination 😊

This case is giving me major chills 💔. Seven years have passed since Liz Barraza's brutal murder, and her dad Robert Nuelle is running out of time 🕰️. I'm so frustrated that the family is still waiting for answers – it's like a never-ending nightmare 😩.

The investigators are saying that technology might crack the case, but what about good old-fashioned human instincts? Someone must know something about this crime, and I hope they come forward soon 💡. The fact that there's no clear motive or reason for the killing makes it even more baffling 🤯.

What really gets me is how much justice has slipped through the cracks 😔. It's like Liz's life was erased from everyone's memory. Her dad, a 67-year-old man dying of cancer, should be able to rest in peace knowing that her killer was brought to justice 💀. Instead, he's left with only his desperation and a plea for help from all of us 🤗.

I hope someone, anyone, comes forward soon and helps bring closure to the Nuelle family 👊. If you have any information, please, for the love of all that is good, come forward 💬.

man i was just thinking about my grandma's old garage sale stuff she used to sell all the time back in the day 🤣 like who even still buys old vases from garage sales anymore? anyway, back to this case... 50k is a decent reward but i feel like it should be more since it's been 7 years already 🤑 what do you guys think would be enough motivation for someone to come forward with info? btw has anyone tried those dna testing kits yet? might be worth it to see if there are any matches

man this case is so messed up 🤯 my heart goes out to the barraza family they deserve justice and i hope whoever did that gets caught soon it's crazy how a whole 7 years have passed and there's still no one held accountable for liz's murder 🕰️ my only wish for bob nuelle is that he finds peace before his time runs out ❤️

can't believe it's been 7 years since liz barraza passed away 🤯 her dad robert nuelle is still fighting for justice and now he's got terminal cancer too that's so unfair...i think the key to solving this case is tech, like they're saying but we also need people with info to come forward pls, crime stoppers, $50k reward...if u saw a dark-colored nissan frontier on jan 2019, pls DM or call 713-222-TIPS (8477)...liz's memory deserves justice 💔

man this case is so sad 🤕 her dad's health is getting worse and he's still not getting the justice he deserves it's like the system failed him and his family. I'm trying to keep up with the fact that the killer could be someone who knows something but isn't talking, it's like they're hiding in plain sight 💡. 50k reward from Crime Stoppers is a good start but I think more needs to be done to bring this to justice ⏰.

Man, this whole thing just breaks my heart 🤕... like, I know it's been seven years and all, but still - no one's behind bars? And now Bob Nuelle is stuck with stage four cancer and can barely take care of himself... 150 pounds down from when the murder happened? That's some crazy weight loss 💔. And yeah, tech might be able to help crack the case, but it doesn't replace human witnesses or people coming forward with info 🤦‍♂️. Crime Stoppers is offering a sweet reward, but I'm guessing that just isn't enough motivation for some people... I mean, 50 grand? Not bad, but still, someone's gotta know something 🤑. Anyway, can we PLEASE get some answers soon? This poor guy deserves closure 💔

I'm so torn about this case... I mean, I feel super bad for the Nuelle family and how they're still searching for answers all these years later 🤕... but at the same time, I don't know if we can keep relying on Crime Stoppers rewards to solve crimes... I mean, it's been seven years and nothing has happened yet? Maybe we need more like, actual investigations and less just relying on tips from random people 🤔... or maybe it's because the case is too complex and we're expecting too much from one tip... idk lol what do you guys think?!

🤕 The timeline for solving cold cases like this one is a perfect example of how our justice system can be slow 🕰️. I mean, think about it - seven years down the line and we still haven't cracked the case 🤯. It's not just the family's frustration that's at play here, but also the fact that tax dollars could've been better spent on solving this crime instead of being wasted on bureaucratic red tape 📊. And now, with Robert Nuelle's terminal diagnosis looming over us, it's like time is literally running out ⏰. We need to acknowledge that this isn't just a personal tragedy, but also a societal one 💔. Someone must know something about Liz Barraza's murder and it's our collective responsibility to make sure justice is served 🤝.

This case is like a perfect example of how corruption in law enforcement can lead to these types of investigations going cold 🚫. I mean, come on, a dark-colored Nissan Frontier and that's it? What's the point of having a Crime Stoppers reward if nobody's gonna use it? It's all about priorities, folks. The Nuelle family is getting desperate, but what's more desperate - their son's terminal cancer or the fact that Harris County Sheriff's Office can't get their act together? 🤔

omg this is like soooo sad 😭 liz barraza was only 29 and now her dad is dyin from cancer 🤕 it's not fair that they still dont have any leads on her murder 🚔 i feel so bad for the nuelle family, especially bob, he must be losin his mind thinkin about what happened to his daughter 💔

anyway, i'm hopin that crime stoppers can help crack this case 🤞 and get justice for liz and her dad 🙏 the $50k reward is a great start, but i hope they catch someone soon, like, before bob runs out of time ⏰ it's so sad to think about him dyin without knowin who killed his daughter 💀
