Hynes likes Tarasenko’s game, wants to see more shots

Wild Coach John Hynes on Vladimir Tarasenko: A Scorer Looking to Revitalize His Game

Minnesota Wild coach John Hynes has been working to get the most out of veteran forward Vladimir Tarasenko, who has been a less consistent contributor this season. While Tarasenko's numbers are modest so far - two goals and eight assists in 21 games - Hynes sees something positive in his game.

Tarasenko, 33, is coming off an injury that kept him out of the lineup for seven games. Prior to returning, he had gone three games without a point, sparking concerns about his recent form. However, Hynes disagrees with those assessments, praising Tarasenko's overall play and "details" on the ice.

The coach pointed to Tarasenko's ability to make smart decisions, compete hard, and set up well for his teammates as key strengths. Hynes also likes how Tarasenko interacts with other players, such as Nico Sturm and Yakov Trenin, on the same line.

Tarasenko's shooting was a major part of his game when he played for the St. Louis Blues, particularly against the Wild. However, Hynes acknowledges that seeing more shots from Tarasenko would be a welcome addition to his overall contributions.

Despite some concerns about Tarasenko's production this season, Hynes believes the veteran is "progressing" and has the skills to contribute in other ways beyond just scoring. By recognizing these strengths and encouraging Tarasenko to use his shot more effectively, Wild fans may see a resurgence from their new forward as the season wears on.

The Wild acquired Tarasenko in a trade with the Detroit Red Wings over the summer, with Hynes making an effort to make the veteran feel welcome in Minnesota. As Hynes continues to work with Tarasenko, one thing is clear: the coach wants to see more of what made him a valuable contributor for two Stanley Cup-winning teams.

man I'm so over these coaching quotes 🙄... like yeah sure Vladimir's making smart decisions and competing hard but when are we gonna get to see some real goals from that guy? 😒 he was a 40+ point guy last season with the Blues, what's changed? I know Hynes is trying to find ways to utilize his skills outside of just scoring but it's hard to justify acquiring a player who hasn't produced in a significant way so far. 🤔 still love Tarasenko though, he's got that physical presence and I think he can be a huge difference maker when he gets his shot off... hope Hynes keeps working with him to get it out of him 💪

I think its kinda weird how people are so hyped on Tarasenko's shooting skills from last season but now hes not scoring like he used to 🤔. Still, I gotta give credit to Coach Hynes for trying to bring out the best in him, ya know? He's got some solid points about Tarasenko's all-around game and how he can contribute in other ways. If they can get more shots on net from him, that'd be awesome 💪. I'm not saying hes gonna start lighting it up again like he did with St. Louis, but I think its possible if he keeps working on his shot and trust the process 🔥.

🤔 you know i think tarasenko is getting a bad rap this season. like he's still got it in him but hes just playing differently now that hes not being the 1A guy on stl. all these stats are telling one story but whats important is how he interacts with his teammates and makes smart decisions on the ice. idk what the fuss is about hes still a sniper when its needed most 💥

omg i feel like tarasenko's struggles this season are super relatable lol we've all had those weeks where we just cant seem to get our mojo back 🤣 anyway i think hynes is on the right track by focusing on tarasenko's strengths and not just his scoring numbers. it's great that he's praising tarasenko for being a hard worker and making smart decisions on ice 🏒️ i'm curious to see how tarasenko adapts to hynes' coaching style and if we'll start seeing more shots from him soon 💥

I'm not super sold on this idea that Vladimir Tarasenko needs to score more goals... I mean, he's only 2/21, which isn't terrible, right? 🤔 But at the same time, Hynes makes some valid points about his playmaking skills and how he sets up others. Those are definitely positives. However, we also saw him go three games without a point before that injury, so it's not like he was just having an off game or anything 😐. I'm curious to see if Tarasenko can find more consistency as the season goes on... maybe some tweaks to his shot or something could help him break through? 🤷‍♂️

🤔 You know I've seen guys like Vladimir Tarasenko come and go in my playing days 🏒️, but it's refreshing to see Coach Hynes not giving up on him just yet 😊. The kid's still got some magic in his stick, and with the right guidance, he can turn that spark back into a full-blown flame 🔥.

It's all about the intangibles for me – Tarasenko's work ethic, his ability to read the game, and his chemistry with the other guys on the team 🤝. And let's be honest, shooting is not an issue... he just needs to find his rhythm again ⏪. I've seen it happen before, where a player gets back in the zone, starts finding their stroke, and suddenly they're unstoppable 🔴.

I'm getting so sick of these teams not giving their players enough shots. I mean, Vlad's been carrying himself since he played for Blues and now we're expecting less from him? 🤦‍♂️ It's like they forgot he was a top scorer in the league just last season. 8 assists in 21 games is no joke! Can't coach that away, can John Hynes? 😒 Also, what's up with this "progressing" business? Either Vlad's killing it or he's not, you know? Stop trying to sugarcoat it, coach. The Wild fans deserve the truth. 💔

I'm loving how John Hynes is trying to flip the script on Vladimir Tarasenko's game 🤔. I mean, it's easy to focus on the stats, but Tarasenko's been making some great plays that aren't always reflected in his numbers. Like, have you seen him set up his teammates for goals? That dude is a master at finding the open man! 🙌

And yeah, it's true, he wasn't scoring as much when he was with the Blues, but let's be real, we've all had those games where nothing goes in 💔. The key is to stay positive and keep working on your game.

I think what I love most about Hynes' approach is that he's not just trying to fix Tarasenko's scoring woes, he's looking for ways to get him involved in the game in other ways. Like, let's see more of those wicked passes from behind the net! 🔥

It's all about finding that balance and trusting your instincts on the ice. And with Hynes' guidance, I'm excited to see what Tarasenko has in store for us this season 🎉!

🤔 I'm getting a bit frustrated watching Tarasenko struggle this season... like, I know he's 33 and coming off an injury, but come on! 🤷‍♂️ He's still got the skills to dominate games if he can just get back into that zone. The Wild needs him to bring that scoring punch, especially against their arch-nemesis, the Wild themselves 😂. Hynes seems like a great coach, always trying to get the best out of his players... but I'm starting to lose faith in Tarasenko's ability to regain his former form 🤕. It's all about finding that balance between playing safe and taking risks on the ice. If he can find it, Wild fans will be back on board 🐺.

🤔 I think its weird how some ppl get so hung up on stats... like tarasenko's 2 goals in 21 games? not too shabby if u ask me 🤑. The coach is right, tarasenko's more than just a scorer, hes got the skills to set up his teammates & compete hard. I mean, who doesn't love a good ol' fashioned physical matchup 💪. Hynes is doing a great job of bringing out the best in him & i'm curious to see how this season unfolds 👀

Ugh, I'm so over this new TV show I just started watching... it's like, okay, cool premise, but the acting is just meh 🤷‍♀️. And don't even get me started on the plot holes... anyway, back to Tarasenko - I feel bad for him, he seems like a great guy and all, but what's up with his contract situation? Like, can't the team just re-sign him or something? It's not fair to the player 🤔.

I'm not sure about this new Wild coach and his plans for Tarasenko 🤔. I mean, back in my dad's playing days, we used to have players who were great scorers like Tarasenko, but we never had those flashy passing stats either 😎. The game has changed so much since then, with all these fancy systems and analytics.

Anyway, John Hynes seems like a nice guy, but I'm not sure if he's got the magic touch for Tarasenko 🤷‍♂️. I mean, have you seen some of the greats from my dad's era? Guys like Brett Hull or Mike Gartner could just score 50 goals one season and then vanish the next 🔥.

Still, I'm hoping Hynes can bring out the best in Tarasenko, even if it means he doesn't score as much 🤞. After all, some of the greatest players are those who contribute in other ways, like setting up teammates or just plain old-fashioned determination 💪. We'll see how it plays out, I guess 😐.

I'm so stoked to see Coach Hynes working with Vladimir Tarasenko 🤩! I mean, people were saying he was struggling, but Hynes sees the potential in him and is pushing him to be his best. I love that he's focusing on Tarasenko's playmaking skills and how well he interacts with other players on the same line - it's all about chemistry, you know? 🤝 And yeah, seeing more shots from Tarasenko would be amazing! But what I'm most excited about is that Hynes believes in him and wants to see a resurgence. That's what it's all about - giving your players the confidence to succeed. 💪

omg i think john hynes is doing such a great job getting tarasenko back on track!!! 🤩 his ability to set up well for teammates and make smart decisions on the ice is everything!!! i love how he's focusing on tarasenko's strengths like competing hard & interacting with his line mates! 💪 tarasenko has so much skill, let's see more shots from him!!! 😊

omg I felt so bad for tarasenko lol he's been having a rough season but i think john hynes is right on point 🤩 tarasenko's always had that scorer mentality and it's not like he's lost it or anything... it's just that the wild need him to be more consistent, you know? maybe with hynes' coaching they can get him back to his old form 😊 we all love seeing those big shots from tarasenko tho lol i'm hyped for the rest of the season 🤔

I'm thinking, you know? 🤔 Like, people are expecting so much from Tarasenko right now and it's natural to want that scoring pop back in his game... but maybe we're putting too much pressure on him? I mean, 33 isn't old for a pro hockey player. He's still got the skills to make plays and set up teammates... we just need to see more of it from him 🚨💪

Tarasenko's game was always about more than just goal-scoring 🚨, people need to chill out about his numbers this season. He's still a beast on the ice & can create chances for others 🤩, the kid's only 33 but he's showing signs of progression 💪. Hynes knows what he's doing, he saw something in Tarasenko before the trade and it paid off 🤑. Let's give the guy some credit, he's been through injuries & is still producing when he can play 🤕. If the Wild can get him more shots on net, I'm all in for a Tarasenko resurgence 🔥.
