Miss Mexico, who sparked a walkout after host's bullying, is crowned Miss Universe

In a shocking turn of events, Miss Mexico Fátima Bosch Fernández has been crowned Miss Universe despite sparking a walkout after being publicly chided by the pageant's co-owner for not participating in promotional activities.

Fernández, 25, was one of the contestants at this year's Miss Universe pageant which saw controversy erupt during a livestreamed ceremony when Thai national director Nawat Itsaragrisil hectored her for not following guidelines. In response, Bosch refused to be silenced and walked out in front of several other contestants, including last year's winner Denmark's Victoria Kjær Theilvig.

The public backlash against the pageant's organizers was swift and severe, prompting co-owner Raúl Rocha Cantú to publicly rebuke Nawat for humiliating contestants. However, it seemed that this controversy had little impact on Fernández as she emerged victorious in a competition marred by declining viewership and concerns over objectification of women.

President Claudia Sheinbaum of Mexico hailed Bosch's bravery after the pageant, stating that "when we raise our voices, we are more beautiful" and acknowledging her for voicing disagreement in a dignified manner. The Mexican president also expressed recognition for Bosch standing up against Nawat, calling it an example of how women should "raise their voices".

Despite the controversy surrounding this year's pageant, Fernández was crowned the 74th Miss Universe with Praveener Singh from Thailand as first runner-up and Stephany Adriana Abasali Nasser from Venezuela taking second place.

🤔 I mean, come on, who gets walked out by a co-owner during a live ceremony? Like, what's next? 🙄 Fátima Bosch Fernández was totally right to stand up for herself, even if it meant a little drama. And btw, Nawat Itsaragrisil should really work on his public speaking skills – all that yelling wasn't cool 😒.

And yeah, the whole controversy didn't seem to affect Miss Universe's ratings too much... although I'm sure some people were like "oh great, another pageant with a bunch of pretty women and not enough substance". But seriously, it's about time someone spoke up against objectification and promoting a more positive message. And President Sheinbaum totally nailed it – raising your voice is beautiful 💖.

It's also kinda interesting that Fernández became Miss Universe despite all the controversy... maybe it was because she's actually got some spunk? 🤷‍♀️ Either way, I'm rooting for her and her message of female empowerment 👏.

Wow 🤯 I'm kinda surprised that Fátima Bosch won Miss Universe despite all the drama that went down. It's interesting how people can be so divided on social media, some were like "girl power" and others were hating on her for standing up to Nawat 💁‍♀️👑

🤯 what a wild turn of events! I gotta say, Fátima Bosch is lowkey my new queen 👑 - all that drama & she still slayed the competition! 💁‍♀️ I mean, who needs a traditional pageant experience when you can have a firebrand like her shaking things up? 🔥 And let's give it up for President Claudia Sheinbaum, she's on point with her message about women empowerment - "when we raise our voices, we are more beautiful" is everything! 💖 Can't wait to see what Fátima does next 🤔

🌟 OMG I'm so proud of Fátima Bosch Fernández!!! 💖 She didn't let anyone bring her down, even when faced with public criticism. Standing up for herself like that takes huge courage 🙏 and it's amazing to see the impact it had on others, including President Claudia Sheinbaum who totally got it 😊.

And can we talk about how empowering it is to have a leader like the Mexican president? 🇲🇽💪 Recognizing women for speaking up and raising their voices is just what we need more of! 💖 It's all about promoting positivity and confidence, not objectifying or belittling each other. 👏

Anyway, congrats to Fátima on her Miss Universe win 💃🕺 - you totally deserve it! 🎉

This whole thing got me thinking... if we're gonna talk about standing up for ourselves & being brave, it's gotta be in a way that uplifts others too 🤝. Fátima Bosch Fernández could've easily just taken the backlash & quietly walked away, but she chose to speak out & show her courage. That takes guts! 😊 It's not always easy to be the one who dares to be different, especially when it comes to something as subjective as beauty pageants. But what Fátima did was show us that our voices matter, no matter how loud or quiet we are 💬. And it's awesome that Claudia Sheinbaum & President of Mexico recognized her bravery - sometimes, all it takes is someone to acknowledge our efforts to make us feel more seen & heard 🙌.

🤯 "The question isn't who is going to let me; it's who is going to stop me." 💪 Miss Fátima Bosch Fernández showed us that sometimes you gotta speak up, even when it's hard 🗣️ #MissUniverse

omg u no wut?? 🤯 the way bosch went thru w/ nawat tho lol... shes def a strong 1 👏 but i gotta wonder if she was prepared for all that backlash 🤔 idk bout me, i think its kinda cool that shes standin up 4 herself & her beliefs 💁‍♀️ but like at the same time, it cant b easy walkin out in front of ppl when they dont agree w/ u... anywys congrats to bosch on gettin crowned ms universe 🎉 she's def a inspiration 2 many! 😊

I'm loving Fátima's confidence 💁‍♀️! Who needs rules when you've got conviction? I mean, I can see why Nawat was salty, but come on, he basically roasted her in front of all those other contestants 😂. It's not like she just took the mic and walked away without a word – she stood up for herself and showed that she wouldn't be silenced 🗣️. And honestly, I think it made her win even more impressive 🎉!

I'm still not convinced about this whole story... 🤔 How could a contestant just walk out like that? I mean, I get it, she was being spoken to in public by someone who's supposed to be supporting the pageant, but isn't that something you'd want to address behind closed doors or at least privately? And now she's Miss Universe? Like, what does this even say about the values of the whole organization? 🤷‍♀️ I need some sources on this one... where was this all caught on camera or recorded somehow? This just feels like a PR stunt to me. 😒

I'm still trying to wrap my head around what happened at the Miss Universe pageant... 😂 like, I get it, Fátima Bosch Fernández was all up in Nawat Itsaragrisil's grill for not following guidelines, but walking out on stage in front of everyone? That takes a lot of guts! 💪 But at the same time, I feel bad for her because she got roasted by Nawat and then the public kinda turned on her too... 😒

But what really gets me is that the whole controversy seemed to have little impact on the pageant's viewership or how women are perceived. Like, isn't that exactly what we're trying to change? 🤷‍♀️ I'm all for women speaking up and being heard, but shouldn't we be promoting something more positive? 🌈

And I gotta give it to Fátima Bosch Fernández though - she did speak out in a dignified manner, which is awesome. 💁‍♀️ But still, can't we find a way to balance being confident with being respectful to others? 🤔

Stats are crazy! 🤯 Did u see the viewership numbers for this year's Miss Universe pageant? It was a decline of 12% compared to last year 📉. And btw, did u know that only 10% of contestants took home a prize 💸? Crazy how the prize money can affect the outcome of the competition 🤑. I also saw some vids where contestants were literally crying after getting eliminated 🤕.

Also, let's talk about the diversity this year 🌎. Only 3 out of the top 5 winners were from non-white countries 📊. I'm all for inclusivity and representation but can we do better? 🤔

And what's up with the co-owner's behavior? I mean, Nawat Itsaragrisil was totally out of line for freaking out at Fátima Bosch 💁‍♀️. But it seems like Fátima's bravery paid off in the end 🙌.

Fun fact: did u know that Fátima is now going to use her platform to raise awareness about women's empowerment and education? 📚 She's definitely inspiring some people out there!

I think this is such a great reminder that our voices matter 💬! We need to stand up for ourselves, even if it's scary or uncomfortable 🤔. Fátima Bosch Fernández took a huge risk by walking out, and I'm so glad she did 😊. It shows us that we don't have to be silenced or belittled just because we're speaking truth to power 💪.

It's also super important to acknowledge the impact of our words on others 🤝. Nawat Itsaragrisil's behavior was totally unacceptable, and it's great that Raúl Rocha Cantú spoke out against him 👏. But Fernández's bravery in standing up for herself and others is what really made a difference 💕.

This whole thing has also got me thinking about the objectification of women 🤷‍♀️. We need to be more than just pretty faces on stage 💁‍♀️. We need to use our voices, our talents, and our strengths to make a real impact in this world 💥. Fátima Bosch Fernández is an inspiration to us all 👏!

🤔 I'm not sure if that walkout by Fátima Bosch was a good idea... I mean, you're already in the spotlight, might as well make it count, right? 📸 But at the same time, I get what she did - standing up for herself and speaking her mind. It's about being confident and not back downing, even when others try to silence you. 💁‍♀️ The way Nawat spoke to her was just rude, in my opinion. And I think the pageant organizers should've handled it better. 🤷‍♂️ Anyway, congrats to Fátima on winning Miss Universe - she's definitely got spunk! 🎉
