NASA stage show explores "outer" outer space with Henson's Fraggles

NASA has teamed up with the Jim Henson Company to bring the beloved children's show "Fraggle Rock" to life in a new stage show, "Fraggle Rock: A Space-y Adventure." The production features full-body "walk-around" characters and combines elements of NASA's space exploration plans with the whimsical world of Fraggle Rock.

The show centers around Uncle Traveling Matt, a beloved character from the original series who is tasked with discovering outer (outer) space for the first time. According to director, writer, and choreographer John Tartaglia, "He never really questioned what's beyond, because he thinks he's done it all." As a result, his mind is blown when he realizes that there's something even beyond Fraggle Rock.

To differentiate between the Fraggles' use of "outer space" - their own world - and our "outer space," NASA refers to the latter as "outer outer space." The show uses postcards written by Traveling Matt to explain concepts such as the Moon, which serves as a way to bridge the gap between Fraggle Rock's world and ours.

In addition to introducing audiences to the wonders of outer space, the production also emphasizes the importance of exploration, discovery, and fragile ecosystems. Tartaglia noted that "our two worlds that on paper wouldn't seem connected made a lot of sense to connect," highlighting the show's unique blend of whimsy and scientific accuracy.

🤪 Can you believe NASA is teaming up with Jim Henson to bring Fraggle Rock to life... in space? I mean, who needs actual space travel when you can just wear a green onesie and prance around on stage? 🚀😂 But seriously, it's kinda awesome that they're bringing these lovable characters into the universe. I'm excited to see how they'll make Fraggle Rock fit with all this "outer outer space" stuff... I guess that's what they mean by "out of this world"... get it? 😆

🤔 I mean have you seen this? NASA and Jim Henson are teaming up, what's next? The Muppets joining forces with the Illuminati? 🤑 Just kidding, kinda... seriously though, what's up with this "outer outer space" thing? Are they trying to confuse us on purpose? I swear, it smells like a government cover-up. NASA just wants to distract us from the real issues, like their alleged plans for Mars colonization and secret alien bases 🛸. This show is just a smokescreen to get us excited about space travel while they're actually working on something more sinister. Fraggle Rock: A Space-y Adventure? More like Fraggle Rock: A Front for Government Mind Control 🤖.

OMG 🚀👽 is this real life?! Fraggle Rock in space? 🤯 I'm all about it! It's so cool that NASA teamed up with The Jim Henson Company to bring this magic to life. I love how they combined the whimsy of Fraggle Rock with the wonder of space exploration. Uncle Traveling Matt is literally the coolest 🚀👨‍🚀.

I'm excited for the show and can't wait to see it! It's great that they're emphasizing exploration, discovery, and fragile ecosystems. We need more kids' shows like this that inspire STEM learning while still being fun and imaginative 🤓🌟. Anyone else as stoked as me? 😄

OMG 🤯 this Fraggle Rock stage show is gonna be SO COOL!!! I've always loved Fraggle Rock as a kid & now it's getting this awesome space twist? Mind blown that NASA got involved! The idea of Uncle Traveling Matt exploring outer space & realizing there's more 'outer' to discover is so clever. Using postcards from Fraggle Rock to explain real-life stuff like the Moon makes total sense, tho 📦🌕 I'm defo gonna check this out when it comes out! 😍

🤔 I don't get why they're even bothering with this. NASA's got better things to do than team up with some cheesy kids' show. Like, what's next? The Magic School Bus in space? 🚀 It's just a bunch of hooey to sell tickets and make some extra cash. And don't even get me started on the "outer outer space" thing - sounds like a total mess waiting to happen. I mean, who comes up with this stuff? 😒
