NOFX Set Feature-Length Documentary Exploring 40 Years of Punk, Excess and Survival

NOFX's Punk Rock Empire to be Captured in Intense, Unflinching Documentary

Veteran punk outfit NOFX is about to take fans on a wild ride through four decades of chaos, excess, and survival with the release of their feature-length documentary "40 Years of F**kin' Up". The film, which is currently in post-production, promises to be an unapologetic and uncompromising look at one of punk's most influential bands.

"We're not going to shy away from the crazy stuff," said Fat Mike, NOFX's founding member and primary songwriter. "The documentary will show some pretty wild and uncomfortable stuff – like footage of us getting whipped in our dungeon or puking blood on an ambulance ride."

Directed by James Buddy Day, the film boasts extensive interviews with the band's core lineup, including guitarist Eric Melvin, lead guitarist El Hefe, and drummer Erik Sandin. The documentary also features additional executive producers Gary Ousdahl, Cisco Adler, and Jon Nadeau.

While the trailer has leaned heavily into the band's notorious reputation, Day insists that the film is meant to be a comprehensive portrait of the band's life, rather than just a collection of outrageous moments. "I've never experienced anything like working with NOFX," he said. "This is the punkest band ever – and their story is exactly as insane as you'd expect: hilarious, painful, reckless, and deeply human."

The documentary will also premiere new, unreleased music from the band, which won't be available through traditional channels. Fans can catch sneak-peek screenings of the film in Austin, Texas, before it rolls out to select theaters worldwide in April.

Tickets for screenings are set to go on sale in February, and given NOFX's reputation for pushing boundaries, fans can expect a truly unforgettable experience when "40 Years of F**kin' Up" hits screens.

🤘 just saw this trailer and i'm HYPED!!! 40 years of fkn up is gonna be such an intense documentary, cant wait to see nofx's side of the story 🎥👊 gotta say though, fat mike's been saying some wild stuff about getting whipped in their dungeon lol what kinda crazy sh*t have you guys been gettin' into? 😂

OMG, I'm so stoked to hear about this docu! I've been a fan of NOFX since I was like 15 and they're literally the epitome of punk rock spirit 🤘💥. Capturing their wild ride over 40 years is gonna be wild - I need to see that dungeon footage 😂. Fat Mike's right, it's not going to shy away from the crazy stuff...but at the same time, it'll be so cathartic to see them finally tell their story in a comprehensive way 🎥. And new unreleased music? That's just the icing on the cake! I'm totally buying tickets for those screenings ASAP 👍

I'm hyped that they're finally putting out this doc 🤘! I've been following NOFX since like, the 90s, and I gotta say, it's gonna be wild seeing all these crazy moments on screen. Fat Mike's always been a genius when it comes to writing songs that are both super catchy and brutally honest 😂. But at the same time, I'm also kinda worried that they're gonna leave out some parts... like, what about the stuff that's not exactly, uh, "family-friendly"? 🤔 Still can't wait to see this though - it's gonna be a wild ride!

I'm not really sure what's punk rock without being kinda gross lol 😂 I mean, NOFX is like the ultimate anti-glam band. They're all about keeping it real and raw, even if that means showing some pretty wild stuff on screen. 🤯 Fat Mike's got a lot of stories to tell, and from what I've seen in the trailer, this doc is gonna be like an insane therapy session for fans... but in a good way? 🤔 Can't wait to see it! Also, have you guys tried that new food truck near my place? Their Korean BBQ tacos are on point 👌

🤯 I'm stoked that we're finally getting a real look at the wild world of NOFX! Their documentary is gonna be so intense and unfiltered – like, no holds barred. I love how Fat Mike is all about being honest and not sugarcoating their crazy past. Can't wait to see what other crazy stories come out in the doc 🤯💥. Gonna be a wild ride for fans of punk rock! 😂

I'm stoked to see one of my all-time favorite punk bands get the documentary treatment! 40 years is insane, dude 🤯 I've been listening to NOFX since I was a teenager and they've always been about pushing limits and being true to themselves. It's gonna be awesome to see their wild ride played out on screen. The fact that the trailer leans into their crazy reputation but promises it's not just about outrageous moments, though – that there's depth to the story too, is really cool 🤘 I'm hyped for the new unreleased music and the fact that fans get to experience this firsthand is sick 💥
